Do you see this happening in the very near future ? :-S im trying to look for possitive side of things . But there last studio album by roxette standards was a big bomb ! ! there popularity are dropping off country by country now ! NOT 1 single from RS or TPH TBH released in US / UK or Japan the 3 biggest music buyers on the planet ? not good thank god for germany lol

Per/Marie/Roxette would never be dropped by EMI Sweden. Its just a matter of whether other EMI territories would bother releasing a new Roxette album. ( i would say the answer at least for EMI UK would be no)

If Roxette were dropped by EMI I would be glad. Then they would maybe finally turn to another record label and start getting the respect they deserve in music business! I truly 100% believe that its EMIs fault that they lost America and that they didnt sell so much with “Have A Nice Day”, “Room Service”, “The Ballad Hits”, and “The Pop Hits”!

One more record to go on their contract and we will see what happens. Excempting Maries health atm, I dont think EMI wont offer them the same 4 or 5 record deal they did before based on their sales. They will offer something and if they dont like they may go elsewhere. Remember Per’s words when he got the last contract ;) I dont think he will as excited this time. Money I dont think will come into it, but Im sure Roxette will want a strong record company behind them.

I think Per would want to stick to EMI. The way I see it, he tends to stick with the people and companies he has worked with.
No matter what you say, Roxette is an international name after all and having Roxette’s name in their list will help them get more artists and have a compay profile.
Also, even if EMI push it very hard and if they try their level best to promote Roxette in US then it won’t work. Lets face it, the music hungry America seem to have gone crazy for crazy assed artists like Britney, Eminem and their likes. Number 1 spots for bands like Evanescence (with some melody in it) is an exception and won’t happen over and over again.
Also, Roxette’s new stuff is not impressive. Not as impressive as it was back in CBB days. It was only ATAY and BREATHE that convinced me that Per can still make some great songs if he works hard enough for Roxette.

true, ’roxette’ is a big international name , but it all comes down to money for record companys ! marie solo / per solo are safe, but if the record company spends more on promotion and the album isnt making what it needs, or the record company agreed to pay roxette x amount and they are not making the amount to cover that alone like in alot of cases , then they will be dropped !.
If EMI drop roxette , i fear roxette will end on an internationl level , we will never see a WICF succsess again . Thats my fear , i do hope im very wrong . EMI worldwide are not suporting roxette no more, more and more emi divisions are following with no support .

The most part of highly promoted modern stuff is crap, so it couldn’t be the reason not to promote. If EMI really wanted promotion, it would do it :)
The last times there was no Roxette promotion from EMI (ATAY etc)... I think Rox have to change a label but am almost sure they’d not. As was said, Per worked with those people at EMI for 20 years, get used to it and everything and also his Swedish projects are under EMI. Anyways a great success of Mazarin and GT was not a thing of only promotion, it’s something bigger and deeper...
But let’s see what will happen.

It all depends on whether Roxette is going to be in music industry or not. And considering current sugar-pop/emo domination I don’t think Roxette will be ever relevant in public as it once was. I have many friends among 16-year-olds and younger and neither have ever heard of the band’s title
