B Side's etc

Hey!!
After seeing the thred for Sweet Hello... I was wondering what B Sides we think should be on the respective albums. There’ve been loads. These aren’t all of them!! I think the following should have been on the albums
The Voice - Look Sharp!
One Is Such A Lonely Number - Look Sharp!
See Me - Tourism? recorded in 1992 I think?
Seduce Me - Joyride
Crazy About You - C! B! B!
Sweet Hello, Sad Goodbye - Joyride
Happy Together - HAND
Entering Your Heart - RS (Japan bonus track)
Obviously there are demos like Under Your Magic Spell, Love Spins and Dancing On The Nightware from the POP and LS! days which haven’t officially been released, so I haven’t thought about those, even though there are some good songs on that collection, I’m thinking it was called Demos and Spices???
Add your fav B sides to the list!
Thanks!

See Me is an old GT demo recorded back in 84 during Heartland Cafe session

According to the sleeve insert of the Salvation single which See Me is on, it says recorded in 1992 with Marie and Clarence?? Maries voice sounds “fuller” than Heartland Cafe recording. Maybe I’m wrong? Just read the info on the sleeve

What sessions were the songs from TBH & TPH bonus EPs, and The Look for Roxette EP?
i.e. The Weight of the World, It Hurts, Every Day, Stupid, Makin’ Love to You, Better Off on Her Own, Bla Bla Bla Bla Bla (You Broke My Heart), Stay (At Home, At Work, At Play), I Do Believe

I think the TBH & TPH bonus stuff was probably recorded between HAND and RS. It Hurts sounds a lot like a song which could’ve been on HAND, where as Weight Of The World sounds like RS. That’s just a guess though, not sure. Does anyone think that Bla Bla... (which was recorded for Room Service) sounds like a song from The World According To Gessle. It would’ve fitted that album perfectly!
I agree that Entering Your Heart is a great song, but it was on the Japan release of Room Service, so that’s why I didn’t include it. But I’ll add it to the list!

Stay (at home at school at play) sounds a lot as Lonely Boys to me

I also like “Don’t Believe In Accidents (demo)” but my favourite b-side (after years of playing and adoring “The Voice” and “The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye” but now a little tired of them) is the classy “Crazy About You”... classic Roxette! All the best from Rich ;-)

’Stay (at home at work at play)’ is at least as good as anything on Lonely Boys, and should have been on there for sure.
There’s no way Crazy About You could be on CBB, but it would fit nicely in to HAND...
Perhaps ’Better off on Her own’ could’ve been on CBB, but it’s a full enough album as it is.

@pwbbounce: Marie just completely re-recorded music to that song, that’s it.

I think on of the best b-sides is “Pearls of Passion”.
I would not say they have a lot of b-sides anyway, for the number of singles released the ratio is quite low.

i thought ’Makin’ Love To You’ was 2000 form room service sessions, doesnt have the sound from HAND at all.

Technically, we have some categories of “B-sides”:
A. Proper B-sides: finished songs, not included on any album, just on a single. For example: “Entering Your Heart” or “The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye”.
B. Demos: unfinished or preliminary rehersals of a song. It can be re-recorded and released after that. For example, we have “Sleeping Single”, both in demo and definitive version. Or it can dead as demo (“One Is Such A Lonely Number”). A demo can be released as a B-side too (“Don’t Belive In Accidents” or “Seduce Me”).
C. Live performances: sometimes used as B-sides. Example: some songs from the MTV Unplugged on the singles off “Crash! Boom! Bang!” or “Hotblooded” on “Fingertips ’93” single.
D. Remixes: we have a lot. Stars, The Centre Of The Heart, Wish I Could Fly, Joyride, The Look...
Roxette haven’t released many proper B-sides (category A):
- The Voice (Dressed For Success single)
- Come Back Before You Leave (Joyride single)
- The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye (both on Spending My Time and Vulnerable singles)
- Crazy About You (You Don’t Understand Me single)
- Happy Together (Wish I Could Fly single)
- Better Off On Her Own (Stars single)
- See Me (Salvation single)
- Entering Your Heart (The Centre Of The Heart single)
- The Weight Of The World (A Thing About You single)
Some artists have a lot of proper B-sides (one on each single, at least). It’s not the case of Roxette, as you can see. They have released about 40 singles, and just 9 songs were not included on the albums. All the rest are demos and remixes.

I adore “See Me” and it’s probably the only Marie song I’ve ever enjoyed. I guess the reason it was never included on an album is because it doesn’t have that unique Roxette sound.
I don’t like “One is such a lonely number”. My least favourite “B” side.
Great topic btw.
