RS Single Releases (that you wished so much...)

What are the Room Service’ single releases that you think would be more successful?*

We already had this discussion about “Have A Nice Day” and it was very cool!

My list for Room Service single releases is:

#1 The Center Of The Heart
#2 Milk And Toast And Honey
#3 Jefferson
#4 Looking For Jane (in case of a 4th release)

And yours?

*if you think that the real ones are not the best choices...

#1 The Centre Of The Heart
#2 Real Sugar
#3 Milk And Toast And Honey

For me, they got the releases 100% correct for this album! All the best, Rich ;-)

This would be my choice. I think the real singles were the right choices:

1st. The Centre Of The Heart
2nd. Real Sugar
3rd. Milk And Toast And Honey
4th. Fool

“Fool” has the classic Roxette sound, it would be a perfect fourth single. And for the sleeve, a shoot of that wonderful yellow room we can see inside the RS booklet. Green, blue (TCOTH remixes), red, purple, wood and blue (MATAH)... we need some energetic yellow!!!

1. TCOTH
2. RS (RS-tour version: more speed, less synthies, more guitars)
3. MATAH
4. Fool
5. LFJ

i would have released Fool as the 2nd single. Its a great catchy song, and much better than Real Sugar in my opinion.

Alexandre, Jefferson as a single??? YUK

They released right singles although i would have gone on to release ’fool - (remix version) as 4th single ;)

fool would have rocked in the UK as a summer song- (with a little promotion of course!)

Yes Fool would have been a great single.

I wish Jefferson had been released as a single. To me it’s a perfect pop song. Fast and catchy chorus, a bit slower verses, good middle part, the song ends when it ends (no fading). Na na na. The guitar is superb, the cool “wave” sounds in the background /harmony of the verses, especially the 1. verse. ANd the song build up all the way, the last chourses has extra power from the first and son on. Can never get tired of that song :)

I wouldn’t have released TCOTH as a single. Fool would be great instead. Or Jefferson. No problem with Real Sugar - could have been the 1st single. Also one of the singles should be a ballad, not MATAH (you can kill me right here right now) - My World My Love My Life with improved production or It Takes You No Time To Get Here.

TCOTH not as a single ow please , you might as well say no to ’the look’ or ’joyride’ aswell then lol honestly some people!

looking for jane but i kept having this nightmare that they’d do some retarded muppet video for it too

@ coyboy - LOL!

1. Real sugar
2. Fool
3. Milk and toast and honey
4. Looking for Jane

1st TCOTH (This had to be it - otherwise it would have never been the same as it was for me ... still drives me insane LOL)
2nd RS (the remix version actually sounds better it give it the energy the original wanted to have)
3rd MTH - had to be the 3rd single cause its PER and MARIE’s fav track...
4th Fool - ABSOLUTELY! One of my all time fav vocals from Marie she rocks her! No one would do it better!
5th - My World My Love My Life - great ballad! It could have been an extra single in Portugal and Brazil had EMI Brazil chosen it for a soap opera...

I had no idea there was so much adoration for Fool from the fans... I like it a lot and always think of it as a “Small Talk 2001”... nice song... definitely the next option for a single... but I still think that the three chosen were the obvious choices... all the best from Rich ;-)

1. March 2001 - Make My Head Go Pop
2. May - Jefferson
3. August - It Takes You No Time To Get Here
4. October - Fool
5. December - My World, My Love, My Life

ps - Real Sugar really sucks (as a single and as a song too)

Fool is more like the Dressing For Sucess of 2001 for me ... whenever we get Marie’s great vocals doing wonders that’s when it all shines... but thinking it twice I have always though that Small Talk has similarities with Dressed For Sucess soo... maybe u have a point there :)

“Make My Head Go Pop” released as a single? The biggest Roxette flop ever!!! That song should be deleted of the face of the Earth!!!

@Rox_Nox2003: “Milk And Toast And Honey” was used for a Brazilian soap-opera, titled “Um anjo caiu do céu” (A fallen angel from heaven, or something like that). It was released as a promo CD single, featuring the soap-opera title on the sleeve. I know ’cause I have it.

I’m also quite happy about the singles from Room Service. But if I had a chance to change anything, I would release Fool instead of Real Sugar and would release Make My Head Go Pop (now you can kill me!!!).

Well, I don’t like “Make My Head Go Pop” so much. But I know that if it was released as a single, it could make a huge success, mainly among the people that don’t like or don’t know Roxette, because it’s this kind of crappy song that use to make success nowadays...

@AURYTE:
What do u prefer? The guillotine (like Marie Antoniette) or an arrow straight to the heart (William Tell style)?

Fool—great song! Love it! Should have been a released in place of Real Sugar (for me, a passable track.)

MMHGP should NEVER have been considered for the CD instead and Entering Your Heart should have been part of the main line-up and not just an import extra.

I’m also of the mind that hey should have replaced Little Girl—Marie sounds soooooooooo whiney on that track. Not a good vocal at all, and the arrangement is bothersome as well. Everyday would have fit in there for a slower track.

@Staffany The mix of it:)

Well, first of all it would’ve been good to actually have a single release in the UK (apart from MATAH which didn’t have no promotion and therefore didn’t chart). Don’t think that was the right song at all to release in the UK.

1. Fool (with promotion!)
2. Real Sugar (with promotion)
3. My World, My Love, My Life (with promotion)

I know a lot of you don’t like MWMLML, but I think that it could’ve done better than MATAH. It has a similar beat to WICF, and that did well in UK!

the first 3 singels were great but I wished long for My world, my love.....for a forth singel. It is the perfect power ballad.

1.The Centre of the heart
2. MATAH
3. Real sugar
4. My world my love my life
5. Try (Just a little bit harder)

1 The Centre Of The Heart
2 Fool
3 My World, My Love My Life
4 Entering Your Heart

But maybe they re-title 4 so not the two ’hearts’? Maybe “Entering Your Mind”? :)

I still believe in “Looking For Jane” as a single.

01 The Centre Of The Heart
02 Real Sugar
03 Milk And Toast And Honey
04 Looking For Jane
05 My World, My Love, My Life

Maybe someone from Roxette camp should check fans’ forums to see which singles we would like to be released.

Same as ’TheRain1981’ :)

I would have released those songs:

February 01: Milk & Toast & Honey
(April 01 Release: Room Service)
May 01: Fool
July 01: It takes you no time to get here
September/October 01: My world, my love, my life

For all these songs I have so much ideas in my mind how the videos could be.. and the cover design for th singles..

@bbrox,

Why don’t you share with us your ideas about the videos? You could make it in the thread “Can you imagine the videos?” at the following link:
http://www2.dailyroxette.com/smalltalk/thread.php/12501

That would be great!

I prefer...

1)Real sugar
2)The centre of the heart
3)Jefferson
4)Little Girl or It takes you no time to get here

Yay for Rox-Van, another fan of Little Girl....i dont know why this song gets so much stick

Fool
Looking For Jane (I LOVE IT!)
MWMLML
