Has anyone seen this amazon customer review of ’ballad + pop hits?’ :D
“There is one good live performance of Listen to Your Heart. The rest of it is not that interesting. Not a keeper. Most of the videos focus on the guitar player and backup singer rather than Roxette for some reason.”
MiracleMan said on March 7, 2005 18:50:
And my other question is—if you don’t know shit about Roxette, mainly that Per & Marie ARE Roxette, why the hell are you writing a review!?
AURYTE said on March 7, 2005 20:58:
In my opinion, Marie is shown more often than Per in the videos...

I think the person that wrote that review thinks that Maries name is Roxette. Its amazing how many people still think that, even in the UK if you say you like roxette sometimes people will say, ” I like that song from pretty woman that SHE sang”.
So in other words its Per who is the back up singer and guitar player, not Marie!

it’s a pretty common mistake for non believers to make...

does this item come with a big “Roxette are marie fredriksson and per gessle” text somewhere? (wouldn’t be the first of their albums to state that)
if so...
*cough* somebody can’t read *cough*

I’am confused! The person saw the back up singer (Marie) and the guitar player (Per) what does he saw, when he saw Roxette??? Thats really strange...just imagine what the had thought when he saw the stars video??? Perhapes: “Why sings the backup singer with ducks, and why had the guitar player such a make over?”
harriej said on March 8, 2005 19:15:
Maybe they mean: guitar player and backup singer as one person, and then they mean Per.
With Roxette they mean Marie.
Santi said on March 8, 2005 19:16:
For what I read, I understand that Per is both considered to be the “guitar player and backup singer”. If you understand that Roxette is the blonde woman, the other is not, so it has to be the guitar player and backup singer, since he sings.... Whoever wrote this stuff does not refer to two different people, but the same, which is Per. And if you think so I can understand is weird that Per is in every video so often.
RoXoR said on March 8, 2005 19:22:
That really must be weired especially by songs which are just sung by the guitar and backup singer like Vulnerable
AURYTE said on March 8, 2005 22:11:
I think that person knows just one Roxette song or saw just one video.
MiracleMan said on March 8, 2005 23:29:
I scanned through other reviews by that person. They’re probably young and bored and just want to get something published there. They’re treating it like a regular message board in an amazon.com forum.
(I’ve only posted a review there if I had anything to useful to say—and I think I’ve only done it once with Eurythmic’s “In the Garden”.)
Zargo said on March 9, 2005 04:39:
Yep, they believe Per is the back-up singer/lead guitarist
(hell of a lot of vocals for a back-up singer ;) )

I lot of people think that Roxette is Marie’s working name. I think it all comes down to It Must Have Been Love, probably their biggest hit (that might cause some disagreement!), which doesn’t really feature Per on vocals, except when you listen to the backing vocals at the end. Obviously we all know that Per is a major part of Roxette (if you don’t then maybe this isn’t the site for you! LOL), but to the general public, it could be an easy mistake to make. Radio stations are only really playing, Listen To Your Heart, IMHBL & Sleeping In My Car now locally, so again very strong Marie songs. That’s my thought anyway!
MiracleMan said on March 7, 2005 18:45:
Is Marie the backup singer? That’s funny.
