Roxette "sound"

Which “sound” of Roxette did you like more? Lets consider JOYRIDE n CRASH BOOM BANG here. I am not talking about the songs but I am talking about the “sound” like the drumming and the guitars etc.
I think I prefere C!B!B! cuz it was more mature.

Joyride.... but then again I always say this, there is something magical about the album! :)

Crash! Boom! Bang!
Love guitars and drums! And great vocals, too.

Crash! Boom! Bang! has the best sound for me... with Per’s fantastic melodies and Marie singing at her very best... and the guitars, drums and production all spot on. Every other album feels like a collection of great songs, but this one feels like a cohesive and complete album with a strong natural theme. All the best, Rich ;-)

I love the sound of the rhythm guitars all along Joyride :)
(“Fireworks” rhythm guitar sounds very much the same as well). That’s my Roxette sound.

I’m still in love with CBB, for me it has the most surprising melodies and a production that “blows you out of your shoes :)”. It hits you from the first track (H&I). And it still sounds fresh.
I also still like Joyride and Tourism a lot, although you can hear they’re aged.

as a band, then CBB I guess, but they get more proficient every time they tour.

Though I both these albums are on top of my favourite Roxette albums, but they are somehow different for me. Crash! Boom! Bang! is very live, and I love this, but Joyride has many powerful songs, like Hotblooded, I Remember You & Joyride. The combination of these two would be great:)

I would not make the comparison in differences between Joyride and Crash!Boom!Bang!, but more in the differences between the ballads and the uptempo songs.
Roxette themselve have done that too, more or less, with the compilations “The Ballad Hits” and “The Pop Hits”.
Anyway, I am more into the uptempo songs, like Dangerous, Sleeping In My Car, Fireworks, Joyride etc. then the ballads, although Roxette have made some very good ballads as well, like “My World, My Love, My Life”.
Pearls Of Passion: Surrender is THE best Roxette-song, so a big yes to Pearls Of Passion!

@ above
Surrender is the best Roxette song? Are you kidding? The best? Come on! The best? :P
Ha ha! :)
animalkingdom said on March 6, 2005 12:25:
Sorry I didn’t mean to be offensive...
BUT it just seemed a little weird: “Surrender” being the best song when there are such other great compositions...like most of their greatest hits. I mean compare LTYH to Surrender...
harriej said on March 6, 2005 14:52:
Sorry, didn’t want to be agressive either.
surrender just hits a special place in me.
Get goose-bumps of it or how do they call that?
Speedo said on March 6, 2005 14:59:
@ Harriej
I’m a big fan of Surrender too, so you’re not the only one ;)
It’s definitely in my Roxette top 10

I don’t listen to Joyride very often anymore. I definitively prefer CBB!
more mature, rockier, more guitars :-P
