Of the 40 Most Awesomely Bad #1s.
Mostly citing the nonsense lyrics. Comedians and commentators even dissed Marie’s hair—Peter Pan was the reference I think. . .
Not sure how to feel about that. . .

Ah, if you ain’t immune to the pee taking of Roxette by now, you never will be. I’ve heard it since I became a fan, the UK music industry don’t much like roxette. But it’s not stopped them being loved by lots of brits. ;)
I mean, they gotsta find something funny about themselves too... opportunity Nox video springs to mind. ;)

As much as I like her, some of her stuff (especially in the lyrical sense seem pretty light and nonsensely..)
But you can never know what’s really been going on in the lyricist mind... :-)

Not too long ago I saw a show here( in the US) and it was the Top 50 Awesomly Bad songs ever or something but there was no Roxette in there:) Europe was in the countdown with the Final Countdown :P, or Ricky Martin with She Bangs....

hey i can’t belive it, i watch often vh1 and i’ve never seen Roxette on a bad rank there ..also last week i saw Top 10 1989 where also The Look was on the 6th position , i can’t say that Marie looks very well in this video but i don’t think it’s for this chart....it’s a sad thing

IMHBL reached the top 5 in 1990 and 10 in 1993. It was the first song to reach the top 10 with two releases in the 1990s.

VH1 did a series of these shows, but I’m not certain of the other categories. I know there was an Awesomely Bad Love Song list for Valentines Day and at least one other.
I think the idea came from a UK? magazine from last year that compiled the 100 or 50 Cheesiest Songs Ever. One of the commentators (the British fellow) on the VH1 show was the editor of that magazine.
