The link states the Per wrote the lyrics to this song. And, sorry to disappoint, but I have the album that this song originally appeared on - and it says not one word about Per writting the lyrics.
Sorry!
And it wasn’t published by EMI Svenska AB. It was published by: Warner-Tamerlane Publishing Corp./Old Crow Music (BMI)/Trottsky Music (BMI) and Ignorant Music (ASCAP).

its amazing the amount of misinformation that floats around here

he wrote the lyrics to the rox version, sheryl crow most likely wouldnt have been singing about roxette’s manager now would she :P

Of course those lyrics are by Per. If you have the original Sheryl album you may have noticed that the lyrics are very different. I don’t think that site states that Per wrote original lyrics, just the lyrics for the cover...

So these lyrix that were linked to www.roxdisco.narod.ru are ROXETTE’s or PER’s version of Sheryl song???
Confused...

Whats happened is someone on that site has written that Per helped write the lyrics (well thats what it seems as his name has been added to the list of ppls that wrote it) when what should be there to save confusion is that Per re-wrote some of the lyrics for the Rox version. He didn’t write the lyrics for Sheryls version just changed some of them to fit who he was writting about.
Hope that clears it up ;)
Pers lyrix: (About Marie Dimberg 4 when she left EMI)
Here she comes, she’s all dressed up in daisies. Half the time you’d swear that she is crazy.
A fancy smile, a fancy dress - that’s the way we know her best. She says she is busy - we don’t mind.
’Cos every night she works overtime.
Oh Marie, we s ure hope you’re happy.
Oh Marie, what would life be without Marie.
She likes to drive those cars you find in movies. And every song she hears, she thinks is groovy. One day she’ll buy some coats of fur, instead of spending time with Blur.
She says th at Rolf is hard to please.
Knowing her, he’s on his knees.
Oh Marie...
Here she comes, she tries to make connections. The management is asking for perfection. Her mobile phone goes overload, she’s busy dialin’ some country code.
She speaks fluent French, forget the rest.
’Cos it’s the small unsound, we love the best.
Oh Marie... Without Marie.
Sheryls lyrix: ( I assume about someone called Marie but you’d have to ask Sheryl) ;-)
Here she comes, she’s all dressed up in daises
Half the time, you’d swear that she is crazy
Flowered drinks and low-cut dress
That’s the way I know her best
She says she’s lonely, how could she be?
Every night she’s got company
[Chorus]
Oh Marie,
I sure hope you’re happy
Oh Marie,
What about me, Marie
She likes the way she looks in her Camaro
She likes lingerie but he prefers the sombrero
She’s so famous on the block
She stumbles home around four o’clock
She claims the guys are hard to please
She wears teen perfume behind her knees
[Chorus]
All day long she fills me up with dogma
She’s all magazines and benzedrine and vodka
There was one man she truly loved
He took everything but her bear-skin rug
And now and then it’s clear to me
That need is love and love is need
[Chorus]
Always an open door
What are you looking for

Ha! Thanks for the lyrics, Vix. I’ve got the Roxette cover in the iTunes at work and every time it comes on, I try to make a mental note to check Crow’s lyrics, but I never remember it until the song pops up again at work. The vicious circle has ended.
Although I thought the line was instead of spending time with Per. (Blur rhymes, but I rather liked the personal touch of the other.

You’re quite right.
This famous Sheryl Crow song has nothing to do with Per or Roxette.
However, Per & Marie did sing a cover of this song a few years ago. The music was kept the same, but Per changed the lyrics as the song was dedicated to their manager - Marie Dimberg.
It has never been released commerically, but can be found on various Roxette bootlegs.
