Xmas blues:(

Maybe i’m just a miserable cow but i seem to get very blue over the festive season. I dunno why. And i absolutely hate that things start so early. Why start getting xmassy in bleeping October? It makes me fedup with christmas long before it starts:( And there is no escaping it.. it is everywhere bahh hellppppp!

Probably in islamic countries they don’t care much about Christmas, but it’s just a supposition...

Eum i’d rather put up with xmas for 3 months:) 3 months of xmas is better than no xmas at all i guess.

TinyBubbles: Since this is the first year I’m celebrating the holidays under a different religion, I’m suffering from SERIOUS CONFUSION *lol*

I, too, get blue around the holidays. A lot of it has to do with commercialization of it all. I don’t like that. When I was a kid, we spent time together as a family. It worked like this:

My grandparents had 5 kids. Those who made it for Thanksgiving, might not be able to make Christmas. Those that didn’t make Thanksgiving, went for Christmas. 3 outta the 5 lived outta state. Only my mom and the youngest of her older brothers are in the state, so my uncle and his family were pretty much around for both holidays (that is, until his kids grew up and had families of their own and had to visit in-laws, etc :o) )

Anyway, that’s what my story is. But this year’s different. I’ll figure it out as I go along :o)

I’ve just been reminded what Christmas is all about. The friends and the family you get to spend some time with cuz they manage to make you smile. I just complained to my dear friend *hug* Elisabeth that i’m soooo blue this Xmas and she said ”Awww dont be silly, you should be red!!” hehe. I dunno why but i feel all warm inside. Aaah i’m sure i’ll feel more ’red’ when i’m home with my family for the holidays :)

(what religion Spooky?)

My favourite xmas song...and perfect for anyone who has the Xmas blues :(

RIVER

It’s coming on Christmas
They’re cutting down trees
They’re putting up reindeer
And singing songs of joy and peace
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
But it don’t snow here
It stays pretty green
I’m going to make a lot of money
Then I’m going to quit this crazy scene
I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
I wish I had a river so long
I would teach my feet to fly
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
I made my baby cry

He tried hard to help me
You know, he put me at ease
And he loved me so naughty
Made me weak in the knees
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
I’m so hard to handle
I’m selfish and I’m sad
Now I’ve gone and lost the best baby
That I ever had
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
I wish I had a river so long
I would teach my feet to fly
Oh I wish I had a river
I made my baby say goodbye

It’s coming on Christmas
They’re cutting down trees
They’re putting up reindeer
And singing songs of joy and peace
I wish I had a river
I could skate away on

Ah yes Neil... I love the version by (what his name)... mmm... I forgot now; MAN it’s Ally’s boyfriend... the one got locked up for drugs & mimed in Elton John’s I want Love video...

Got it somewhere on my PM *goes off to find the track*

Robert Downey, Jr!!!

My favorite $mas movie is “Die Hard,” where Demi Moore’s ex-husband, an off-duty cop, gets trapped in an office building with a bunch of robbers on $mas eve. The demonstrated work-ethic was inspiring – at one point, the lead female (the cop’s wife), Holly, is in another room faxing some documents to the parent company in Japan. Since she’s faxing those docs on $mas eve in Los Angeles, it’s already $mas night in Japan where, presumably, there are people at the office waiting to receive her fax. How industrious and hard-working can you get?!

I didn’t like the way Bruce Willis dispatched the robbers in “Die Hard.” Initially, he should have sat in the corner, performed some yoga and asked, “Why do they hate us?” Then he should have tried to appease the criminals, levy some sanctions and send inspectors – and had that not worked, given the inspectors more time. The way Bruce unilaterally tracked down the murdering robbers, like a cowboy or something, and simply killed them, was just revolting.

TinyBubbles: Wiccan. Puts a new “spin” on everything. This should be............ interesting

I feel really in the xmas spirt now, mine you just been on a 4 hour (yes 4 hour) tour of my town for my new job, lots of road humps, lots of crappy housing estates lit up like Blackpool Illuminations (wired to the lamposts no doubt!) and lots of Xmas trees! Stopped off at the posh hotel for afternoon tea with more lights and more trees....

The tour was boring as hell esp if you already know the town like the back of your hand! but the lights and seeing how people decorated there houses was sweet! :) should have played count the bulbs!

Did anyone else see this....the nativity scene at Madame Tussauds in London....quite funny

David and Victoria beckham are Mary and Joseph
Kylie is the angel
Samuel L Jackson, Hugh Grant and Graham Norton are sheperds
The best part is that Prince Phillip, Tony Blair and George Bush are the wise men....how ironic

ally: what is your new job that they take you on a town-tour? :)

@ Judith, I am working for the local council, (goverment building) in customer services for the finance department, 4 weeks into the and as part of the entertainment programme they thought a tour of the town and the other offices where we may be posted would be a good idea!

I looked into Wicca as a teenager but nothing ever came of it. How cool are you Spooky!!!!

so what does the wiccan religion stand for? I mean ive heard of it but i dont really know anything about it....i mean a know its pretty difficult to sum up a religion in a couple of sentences, but if you could give me a rough idea it would be great....i’m interested in these kind of things
