I really like Roxette. The songs of Per and Marie are just amazing. But... why do not diversify a little? I mean, I think that it’s the best moment to experience new duets (Per with another female singer, and Marie with another male singer, for example). They could release some singles with that duets. One duet I think that could be wonderful is MARIE FREDRIKSSON & MORTEN HARKET(vocalist from A-HA band), singing a love song. Don’t you think?

I always have dremed about Roxette recording an ABBA cover. I don’t care what song, all are awesome!!! A lot of Swedish artists have recorded ABBA covers, but Roxette didn’t, I don’t know why. But you must admit that can be fantastic...
Another dream that can come true is a Marie album produced by Björn & Benny (some songs by them, of course). Another good Swedish producer/songwritter is Anders Glenmark, who produced Frida’s “Djupa Andetag” album (where you can find Frida/Marie duet, “Alla Mina Bästa År”). He’s a very good singer in his own, as well. I like his solo work (I just know a couple of songs, however).
Who knows? Maybe in the future...

I agree with you, Faezdel. A ABBA cover could be great. I think that there’s one music that could suit perfectly to Marie’s voice: it’s called I HAVE A DREAM!!!!

I went to see Europe (the band) last night. Joey Tempest has a great voice too, not as high as in the countdown years anymore, but he still reaches some great notes :). Must say their music has become quite hardrockish :), maby Marie en Joey in a heavy metal duet :).

@Miguelsocialist: ABBA was a fabulous group. Dancing Queen is one of the most perfect songs ever. I would love it if Per and Marie were to do a cover song of theirs. Can you imagine if Per were to collaborate with Benny and Björn from ABBA? Such awesome music would come out of that.

I don’t think so. Björn and Benny have more music skills, and they wrote lightyear better lyrics than Per... Listen to “The Day Before You Came”, “The Winner Takes It All” or “I Let The Music Speak”. Or an English translation of “Kristina fråm Duvemåla” and let me know if Per is able to do something like that....

Abba lyrics are better than Roxette lyrics? Maybe, but, for me, it’s not enough to say Abba is better than Roxette.
Roxette has better sound, songs, style... and Marie’s voice, that it’s sth extremely wonderful.
Compare Abba and Roxette it’s sth never liked Roxette fans... But, for me and a lot of other people, Roxette is better. They are two different styles but Roxette’s makes me proud of being a fan. Abba’s style is not bad, but it’s so far from the music I like. :D

Lyrics? If i don’t like music, any wise lyrix won’t save the song. ABBA’s music is very good but for me Rox is better cos it touches me more. Per’s texts aren’t perfect although try to find such playings with words which Per likes to do so much, in ABBA’s lyrics.
btw mentioned here “The Day Before You Came” is my the most hateable ABBA song, so depressing. My parents like it very much though :S Don’t like “I Let The Music Speak” either. But “The Winner Takes It All” is excellent!

Experiencing new duets will be interesting from a musical point of view, but I wouldn’t call that a “Roxette’s come back”... it is just more like their solo careers...
Anyway it will interesting to hear Agnetha Falskog and Marie together, or Marie and Olivia Newton John (maybe in CD against cancer made by cancer survivors)... but people, don’t dream! something like Marie and Madonna singing together is really impossible.
I’d like to hear also Bryan Adams and Per.. I think their voices suited perfectly... and if we add a nice chorus from Marie to that.. Oh my God!.. really good combination.
Otherwise, it´s always better to liten Per and Marie together.. that´s really Roxette... nothing else.
