colinvdbel (moderator) said on October 8, 2004 12:02:

spyboo said on October 8, 2004 12:45:
go back to basic,
take dalnet =) the original #roxette is still there,
ppl just stopped coming to busy in real life i guess, it’s very empty right now, but please stop by for a chat
cyaz,
spyboo aka roxann =)

@spyboo I’m trying to put this thread again in the limelight ;)
I’ve been to #roxette in Dalnet a few times, but it’s always empty :(
Yes... we DEFINETELY need more life there!
I know many people hates the whole idea behind IRC, mainly because it seems difficult at first sight... but hey! there used to be people that met there! Where are they?
Is there a preferred day / time to meet? I think it would be very interesting to bring #roxette again to life.

Let us know the server!!!
I tried irc.dal.net but it doesn’t work...
Chaghi said on November 1, 2004 01:35:
@Faezdel: the server is correct... sometimes dalnet is tricky. But I was there a couple of hours ago. Hey! I even got to chat with someone, for the first time in *weeks*!
Vixzter said on November 1, 2004 06:30:
I used to be there all the time, now i’m there every now and then, the main problem with chats is time differences around the world.
roxgirl_germany said on November 1, 2004 08:38:
Was there ever a fixed time slot for “chat times”? Would maybe be a good idea to set some new ones (during the week/weekend at different times) toget some life back to it.
roxann said on November 1, 2004 10:08:
there never been any timeslots, there just where more ppl, that’s why there was always someone around.
i’m there whenever i’m home and my pc is turned on.
If there’s someone who can propose good timeslots be my guest

kewlness! You´re trying to have a #Rox Dalnet revival :)
I was a regular there in the stoneages :) I met some good friends through that channel over the years. Some of us even formed an Internet based band “Cyberband” heard of that b4? LOL
We also did that “one time only” Roxette tribute band and played at a music festival in Denmark
Pop On the Rox :)
I hope you´ll get it all running smoothly again, forum in all its glory, but real time chats is addictive :)
Pop On!

Chaghi said on November 1, 2004 18:37:
Hey! What timezone is CET?
I’m in Argentina, that’s GMT -3
@Vix: now I’m at work... and even if I had some (little) time to chat, first I have to find a way to get around our corporate firewall, proxy servers and the like ;)
I’m working on that... ssshhhh!!! don’t tell my boss, hehe
Vixzter said on November 1, 2004 18:46:
lol, irc never used to like firewalls much ;) tis 18.45pm in the UK
AURYTE said on November 1, 2004 21:59:
I always find those ’IRC’ things tricky 4 me. I’m satisfied being here. Maybe one day I’ll have enough computer skills to go to IRC.
Kiwein1 said on November 1, 2004 22:10:
You only have to modify it once - it works fabulous on its own! Connect and get started.. :)
Chaghi said on November 2, 2004 14:40:
Well... as Dr. Malcom says in Jurassic Park, “life always find its way...” (not sure if that’s the proper English version, the Spanish was “La vida siempre se abre camino”) hehe...
I’m on #roxette now, despite all firewalls ;)
I’m at work, so I won’t be able to chat that much... I’ll try to be there, though, just in case someone step by.

you wanted us to talk on irc, i think. mirc is just a client of the irc network. and there are many other clients, so you cannot use this name as a name of the network.
mirc is a program.
irc is the name of the network.
