Who likes "Queen of rain"???
coldstar said on September 15, 2004 13:11:
I love this melody but i’m curious if there is someone else who like it????????
Ig_Nasi2 said on September 15, 2004 14:27:
I like it, but it’s not one of my favourites... At first it seemed to be quite strange, but once I did understand the song’s structure and its melody I liked it.
Denstandigaresan said on September 15, 2004 14:27:
I would bet a hellava lot of money you’re not the only one that likes it! ;)
naturalborn-roxer said on September 15, 2004 15:12:
i like it very much aspecially with the volume out loud!
tinytim said on September 15, 2004 16:34:
the best question should be: who doesn’t like it?
it’s a damn great song, it’s easier to find the few ones who don’t appreciate than count all the people who love it...
just don’t like that much of the way it ends...I’d try something different.
purplemedusa said on September 15, 2004 16:55:
I love it, but the Unplugged version gives me goosebumps ALL over!!
Faezdel said on September 15, 2004 18:12:
I like “Queen Of Rain”. The best ballad on “Tourism”, I think. But I hate the Spanish version of that song, “Una reina va detrás de un rey”. As a Spanish-spoken guy, I can say the Spanish lyrics sucks and they have nothing to do with the original song’s meaning. “Una reina va detrás de un rey” means “A queen goes following a king”. Nothing to do with the original, as you can say...
patolucas said on September 15, 2004 18:55:
I like Queen Of Rain, but i really love it totally live!
Queen Of Rain from RS Tour was an amazing ending (besides of COYH)
RoxHard said on September 15, 2004 19:42:
Emm... I don’t like it.
I mean, I like the lyrics - I think they’re some of the best Per has ever written. I just don’t like the music. If Clarence had have kept it simpler, like with an orchestra or flute or something - then I’d love it. I just think it’s a shame how they were making ballads in 1991/1992, and they sounded like they could have been made in 1985...
What’s the Unplugged version like? Does it have an orchestra in it, is it like my description? I suppose I should check it out but I can’t find it anywhere in Windows Media Format...
hint hint... ;-)
purplemedusa said on September 15, 2004 19:47:
check roxbytes out... but you won’t find it in WMF though!!
m-cvk said on September 15, 2004 22:07:
I like the song very much...and the video fits it too.
Anyway, there’s a song by Jean-Michel Jarré (or something like that) - an instrumental song that is - that has the same melody of the part ’there’s a time for the good in life, a time to kill the pain in life’...that song is very famous though I don’t know its name. If someone knows it, please let me know...I like that song too :-)
Zerot said on September 16, 2004 00:56:
Queen of rain is a great song.. but I think it doesn´t fit much in Tourism, it has a very Joyride sound
Roxer93 said on September 16, 2004 04:41:
I used to listen to it over, and over, and over....I think I made myself a bit sick of it, ’cos now I can only take it in small doses! Not that I don’t like it anymore....
RobS said on September 16, 2004 08:35:
i don’t think you’ll find too many rox fans that don’t like this song. I love it :-) and the unplugged version is really great. if u can’t find it, send me a mail and i’ll try and send you a copy.
@Zerot: it was actually written for the Joyride album, but got replaced with Perfect Day instead.
abysmo said on September 16, 2004 09:49:
QOR is one of their bests. I love these great dark ballads. (WICF, LTYH, YDUM)
AURYTE said on September 16, 2004 10:03:
I totally agree with abysmo. QUEEN OF RAIN is perfect. I love all dark ROXETTE’s ballads. Also, one of my favourite videos. It fits TOURISM vey well. It would sound srange on JOYRIDE cos this album is very colourful (JOYRIDE, HOTBLOODED etc.).
girl7twenty7 said on September 16, 2004 11:18:
Very-very good song! I think it doesn’t fit Joyride, one more ballad on it would change the general mood of the album to the darker. And I love Joyride like it is.
onlywhenidream said on September 16, 2004 11:58:
QOR rocks...or rains...or drizzles...??I don’t know!!
But when it comes to precipitation - there is nothig better than Watercolours in the Rain. FABAROONEY!
abysmo said on September 16, 2004 17:55:
Queen Of Rain has a perfect video, stormy sundown sky above the lonely beach, chessboard in the sand, Mt. Sint Michel behind Per, Franch castles, raindrops on the window, lonely rooms...
Skye said on September 17, 2004 04:36:
Queen of Rain is great ! LOVE your answer Naturalborn Roxer...lol.
coyboyusa said on September 17, 2004 17:31:
queen of rain is one of their most underrated ballads ever the video is ok , a bit dark lol byt hey listen to the song i reallly never could imagine it on joyride tho the more i think about it
Watercolours said on September 18, 2004 22:21:

rox-kuryliw said on September 24, 2004 09:41:
i like the video , its an and interesting song , not sure what i think, but i do like it. i agree it has a dark feeling about it
AURYTE said on September 24, 2004 11:01:
Should have been one of the best-selling ballads of ROXETTE? Well, it reached #1 in Lithuanian listners chart.

Queen Of Rain:
It brings me the best memories ever from school days and it still until today the songs that has made it possible to connect me with the 2 best friends i have in my life ..our FAV Roxette song :)
It also reminds me my sister when she was a huge Roxette fan in her teens and I was just a kid ...later it would be me until now LOL:)
It was really recorded for the JOYRIDE album :) but replaced by another great song “Perfect Day” (both could have been there but .. anyway LOL). If you notice the way Things Will Never Be The Same ends and how Queen Of Rains begins that is where you get that real conclusion...
I love the LIVE version from both Unplugged and RS Tour ... I have the feeling that bringing back this song to that tour and The BH album made us all look at it in a very different way ... the deepness, the magic environment, intensity and it poetricity, the amazing simple but thoughful lyrics (Per is not always so bad with lyrics you know) ... the dark feeling of emotion and the GREAT FINALE of the song makes my skin freze a bit ...
This is probably one of the fineste pearls Roxette has ever delievered to us and mostly to me ..
So thank you for that Roxette :)
Booho said on October 24, 2004 20:56:
I love Queen Of Rain.
A lot. It really grew on me, after I first found it a bit disappointing for being the last song on the album, but now I reaaaaally know how BRILLIANT this song is, because it’s so dark and a bit difficult.
Lyrics, Sounds, the End, video, memories.....
everything is wonderful about this song.
leo_clume said on October 24, 2004 21:06:
I love “Queen Of Rain”, but the best ballad of the “Tourism” is “The Rain”. “The Rain” is one of my favourities Roxette tracks.
nate said on October 26, 2004 03:43:
In my opinion, one of Roxette’s best ballads - a classic that has stood the test of time. To this day I fail to understand why it was not a bigger commercial success.
AURYTE said on October 26, 2004 04:17:
I was just getting into the ROXETTE world when I suddenly heard QUEEN OF RAIN on the radio. I didn’t know that it is ROXETTE, but I loved the song instantly.
Zargo said on October 30, 2004 12:33:
it’s great, no sad bastard’s come along and said ’nup, I hate it yadda yadda.’
Probably cos it’s not from HAND or RS :P
heidy said on October 30, 2004 12:41:
fantastic song, lyrics and musics, still listen to it so every now and then, and still get goosepumps of it when i’m in the moode for such kind of song. but almost al of rox songs are great. there are just a few that i dont like
on_a_mission said on October 30, 2004 13:20:
great guitar intro.
Yes Ally, the video is in fact filmed at Mont St. Michelle [sic], in Normandy, France. A very nice place.
Sparvogamarie said on October 30, 2004 18:18:
Zargo: LOL! So true haha!
I love QOR and Marie looks TO DIE FOR in that video! They never played it in Australia so the only way to see it was a video jukebox at the mall. It cost $2 everytime and ppl would laugh at me for choosing Roxette :(
coldstar said on November 5, 2004 13:00:
is one of the best!
one of..?
THE BEST
is a beautiful feeling listening it!
Mitya said on November 11, 2004 15:09:
I love this song also, only i don‘t like the words “I play the loser‘s game of life”, i always sing instead ” I‘ve played...”
Robrox said on November 11, 2004 21:54:
To be honest, at first I didn´t really like the song, but now I love it.
I like the video too.
AURYTE said on November 11, 2004 22:05:
Maybe “I’ve played” is a better option in some ways, but maybe PER just meant it “I play the loser’s game of life”.
RobS said on November 12, 2004 06:30:
umm looking at the lyrics it is “i’ve played the loser’s game.....”
am i missing something??
Mitya said on November 12, 2004 13:26:
hey, really, in “Tourism” it‘s written “I‘ve played..”, but in “The Ballad Hits” as far as i remember “I play the loser‘s game of life”
flower said on November 17, 2004 15:41:
Is this the video where MF drives a car, without a driverslicense....
coldstar said on November 23, 2004 11:25:
Love it love it love it!
The best for shure ....but isn’t Cooper in the same way ’built’ as Queen of rain????????????????
Rox_Nox2003 said on December 3, 2004 02:01:
Actually when I listen to Cooper i imediatly think of the same musical structure as CBB ballad. But oops this can be extremely to certain roxers who won’t dare to mix HAND with CBB lol ... which also tells a lot about their musical crediblity to understand Roxette music either if with guitars or with syntersysers and tecno beats LOL
Mitya said on March 3, 2005 16:31:
the other day I got back my original TBH (gave it to a friend to listen to) and looked up that line, so it‘s printed there-“I play the loser‘s game of life”.
oh, why am I so nagging here about this line/
This is the perfect song!
Santi said on March 7, 2005 20:06:
Is not the video beautiful?? There in Mont Saint-Michel :D It is such a special place. I went there because I had seen it on this video.
On the other hand the song... you have to be in the mood... otherwise is boring. Maybe it is just me.
realsugarsexmagic said on March 8, 2005 05:08:
I agree with ROXHARD. All their ballads in those days sounded heaps dated. I wouldn’t mind hearing a version of it in today’s kind of music market.
kristal said on March 9, 2005 13:07:
i can’t belive haw many people love this song.........and i thought that there were a few:))
