A new album after Da Capo!
There you go...Now this group is a great example of not caring about sales - just doing it out of pleasuring themselves.
Happy Nation (the US version and the Stateside version “The Sign”) sold some 21 million copies altogether, The Bridge some 5 million, Flowers/Cruel Summer (U.S.) some 2 million and Da Capo only 250,000 units. AND STILL RECORDING! :)

Jenny solo album and AOB new album?
I can´t beliebe in AOB‘s future anymore.
Solo album is a first sign they are going to split up.

250,000 for Da Capo album? i heard it was almost 1 million... remember that the second single “unspeakble” was top 10 in many countries in Europe... i dont like that band anymore but 250,000??? :-S Are you sure?
Euro4Ever said on September 16, 2004 22:24:
There were also many Bootlegs in Eastern Europe.
So the sales of Da Capo (and of their other albums) are much higher.

da capo was a flop a big one they did an amazing album like flowers minus the stupid euro tracks like dr sun, then they go and do da capo...unspeakable was a great song unlike anything off da capo, and their vieos as of late, thank god roxette arent on edel records lol

Whoever said that bootlegs count as album sales must have somewhat a twisted illusion of the music business...
Anyway, “Unspeakable” never reached the sales charts basically anywhere - certainly not the top-10s of those... If you really consider whatever airplay countdowns as indicators of success, just go ahead...
Some of the chart positions for the Da Capo album:
Switzerland: #23
Sweden: #25
Germany: #48
Finland: didn’t chart (“Flowers” made #2)

@Animalkingdom:
Bootlegs do not count as album sales, But to get a good picture of the Real Sales and popularity, they should be counted.... but that’s impossible to do.
There are many Bootlegs in Asia and Eastern Europe (for example Poland, Russia).
People buy them, which means they do not buy the official Release. So citing Record sales for an International band such as Ace of base is not an Accurate statistic, because these record sales include only sales of official release. Their Popularity based on record sales is thus Very much UNDERSTATED.
I’m Not saying that Bootlegs are good. In fact it’s very sad.
All I’m saying is that you can not judge Popularity and success of a band like AOB based on statistics such as official record sales.

@ above
Yes, but that would also have to mean that Roxette, for instance, shouldn’t have to worry about ANYTHING! I am rather sure that they sell more bootleg records than AOB, for example.
My point was that these pirates do not make money for the record companies and thus for the band! Ace of Base are still on the business regardless their poor record sales - which I consider a great thing!

Of course they are still alive!!!!!!!
Hi I´m Roberto, I live in Argentina...and i´m acer since 1994...
I think that da capo was the worst album of AOB, ´cause the rhythm is like the rhythm of back street or Britney in some songs, but the jenny´s and Linn´s voices are great...my favorite song of the album is Wonderful life but is a cover from Black...
Now AOB is back in the studio for the new album, i don´t care if the album is a succes or not, and the succes isn´t important for the aces “jenny Berggren, Malin Berggren, Jonas Berggren & Ulf Ekberg” they love make music like roxette...and the succes or the sales isn´t important, isn´t relevant for this 4 great swedish...they are great people...the jenny´s solo album will be edited the next year maybe at the same time that the ace of base album...
we don´t know the name of the songs or the album, but i hope that they return to the original rhythm...i miss the original rhythm a lot...My fav song of ace of base is beautiful life...
ok...i find this forum searching ace of base in google...
sorry my english, i don´t speak in english , is very limited for me this language...i wanna write a lot but i can´t....sorry
maybe the next year “2005” we can hear the rhythm of ace of base again in the radio...
and remember: they love make music, they are a family group cause the only non Berggren is Ulf Ekberg...”ace of base is still alive” thanx to God
ok is enough....bye bye
Roberto

That’s what i heard.
I hope it’s Dark and melancholy, like the first/second albums. But then again, anything from them is Great :)
