Hi all ! ok , perhaps Per won´t never be like shakespeare in his lyrics , but sometimes he has made (to me) little masterpieces..
”..when I reach out there´s nothing to find ” (fading like a flower)
help me ! I can´t remember anything else..but I´m sure you´ll find more !!

“I still feel the heat - slowly falling from the sky
And the taste of the kissing.
Shattered by rain - coming thumbling from behind
And the wild holy war.” - “Crash! Boom! Bang!”
For some reason (maybe because of the ’wild holy war’ lyric) I keep thinking that Crash! Boom! Bang! is about a couple from different religions. But, like other Roxette lyics, they mean different things to different people. Most people think that lyrics can be judged by how many meanings you can squeeze out of them. This lyric is one of those...
Beautiful - with meanings that differ from person to person...

There’s a verse that fit me very well:
“This silly game of love: you play, you win only to lose”
From “Spending My Time”

“Join the joyride”, as simple as it is. It’s really harder to write smart pop song lyrics.

”...been holding on too long, to long.”
From “What’s She Like” – employs the word “long” first to mean a length of time, then second to mean regret. VERY skillful use of a subtlety of language. This Per Gessle fellow is a muse, gifted in his simplicity. Yeah, his brother says his lyrics are not that great.... so let’s just see how well BROTHER can write a song? Where are any of Brother’s songs that compare to an explosion like “Spending My Time” or “Crashing Guitars” or any others? Well?
And Roxhard (above) – you are absolutely right in everything you said about CBB.

I love Per’s voice saying “I wrap my arms around your naked shoulders, take cover for the night” at the end of Silver Blue...

Somehow his Swedish lyrics seem more poetic to me, probably just because i’m not that familiar with the language.
The first line that came to my mind was “Två hjärtan håller takten / så pulsen blir musiken”, from ’Kom intill mej’. It’s a really sweet but underrated song IMHO...

My favourite piece of poetry in Per lyrics is:
“The weak replaced the strong, the bird forgot the song”...
Little miss sorrow.

One of my favorites: I’m looking at you through the holes of the soles of my old brown shoes. Pay the price. Small words can express so much! ;-)
