Just seen a video that ripped off Almost Unreal!

I was merrily searching my way through my TV channels last night. I came across MTV - which had a video clip of a young guy sitting in a big chair at this big computer thing. I thought to myself ’hey this is great, MTV UK are playing a Roxette video’. Imagine my surprise when the title appeared - Grace “Not Over Yet”. I vividly remember that this song was released in 1995 (2 years after Almost Unreal). The similarities between the two videos was uncanny:

- Both videos involved a young man sitting in a big velvet-ish chair at a large computer.
- Both videos involve the young man altering a female’s appearance (clothes; hair, etc.) using the computer.
- Both videos involved changing the surroundings of the female.
- The woman in the video had the same hairstyle as Marie’s.
- The man was even wearing the same type of clothes as the guy in the Roxette video!

Oh, and guess what - it was directed by Michael Geoghegan! He also directed the video for Almost Unreal.

This guy must have been suffering from serious writters block if he had to use the same concept for both videos! It’s not even as if this concept is brilliant or anything - it’s just a guy sitting at a computer taking part in the ultimate pornography act (come on, a young guy sitting at a computer altering an attractive woman to meet his desires...)

What do you think?

I’m not nescessarily stating that the Roxette video was pornographic, but... the elements are there.

@lawyer

Name one!

David Beddingfield’s I you’re not the one (Version 2) = Roxette’s A thing about you

yeay my virus is gone lol....purple lol theres no comparison, beddigfields song is in entirly different context and sound

I must just add I’m talking under correction here... but I’m talking about the second video he did for the very same song... guy/girl in nextdoor appartments/parrallel lives/etc... does anybodyknow what I’m talking about? I reallycan’t remember much details, but I thought to myself,’Hell that’s so ATAY!’

PS. Coyboy... I’mcomparing the video’s not the songs. Just incase there’s some confusion.

Spice Girls “Goodbye” –VS– “Wish I Could Fly”
I remember both videos very well and I don’t see it. The Spice Girls’ Goodbye is about scary, sporty, baby & posh walking into a big house which is frozen in time for some wierd reason. WICF is Marie rolling around in a bed...

Enigma’s “Sadness” –VS– “Anyone”
So commiting suicide is a copyright? And I can’t say much here, cause I don’t know Enigma...

Backstreet Boys “Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely” –VS– “Anyone”
Really, the girl commited suicide? I must have missed that...

Britney Spears’ “Born To Make You Happy” –VS– “Milk And Toast And Honey”
Oh please! That stupid Britney video see’s her sitting in some stupid room acting stupid! There is no sea in that video; there is no man sitting by a piano in that video; there are no shots of Britney getting out of bed eating Milk & Toast & Honey... see?

Nice try, though...

There may be some videos that share a general feel with some Roxette videos, but never before have I seen such a plagerism as when I saw that ’Not Over Yet’ video...

Come on! It should be Roxette you’re defending here Lawyer! Not the other way around!

Unison = Utopia!

Oh and by the way, I’m noticing now that the mod’s don’t seem to apprepriate it when we use the word ’stupid’ - and I’m sorry for using it...

But, is there really any wrong-doing when we call Britney Spears “stupid”... seeing as how she is just that?!

Oh no Lawyer, I wasn’t having a go at you. I was actually agreeing with you that Britney is stupid.

I hate sleeze! And she is such a cow!

I heard this story - she was in a club (just a normal dance club) and when she went onto the dancefloor, she got her big security guards to start picking on this tiny little geeky guy cause he and his friends were dancing in the spot she wanted to dance in!!

Can you believe that! And this is true because he took her to court (of course, she didn’t show up at the trial!). The guy ended up with a fractured cheek-bone, broken nose and his lip got cut up real bad. And all this because he was dancing in a spot she wanted to dance at!

That girl needs a reality check!

And did anyone else catch that thing E4 had on a few nights ago? ’Can You Pull?’. Basically, this guy gets the chance to interview Britney Spears - and at the end of the interview he has to ask her on a date. But, before he got the chance to ask her, he was telling her that he went to Louisiana (her home town) and met a some people. When he started saying some of the names - she suddenly looked scared as if she was afraid he’d reveal something! She then stormed out like a big diva!

Hmm... I wonder what she’s got to hide!

But let’s go back to ROXETTE videos. I have noticed that background in Robbie’s clip “Sexed Up” is similar to ROXETTE’s “A THING ABOUT YOU”. But ROXETTE were first to use it.:)

AURYTE that’s because both were directed by Jonas A. Both Roxette&Robbie has very little say in the mise-en-scene of the actual film... and it’s upto the director to create the mood!!
