“Anyone” video will be shot next week
Written by roxeteer on April 9, 1999 to Misc.
The video for the song “Anyone” hasn’t been shot yet, as I falsely stated earlier. According to EMI Italia it will be shot in an unrevealed location near Lisbon, Portugal on April 13, 14 and 15.
On their visit to Portugal they’re also going to perform live at “Globos de Ouro” (“Golden Globes”) which is kind of Portuguese Oscar awards. The show will be broadcasted live for at least 5-6 million people and via satellite for even bigger number of people.
In addition, a rumour has it that MTV will make a documentary about the making of the video.
Another Spanish language CD forthcoming?

Following the success of “Baladas En Español”, EMI International is planning to release a four or five track EP of ballads from the Have A Nice Day album in Spanish. Included will be translated versions of “Wish I Could Fly”, “Anyone”, “Salvation” and “Beautiful Things”. According to EMI, there is a “rush” on this project.
The translations are made by Luis G. Escolar, the same person who made the much-maligned translations for “Baladas En Español”.
Brainpool’s new album is out

Brainpool’s new album “You Are Here” and the excellent lead single with the same title are in the shops. Brainpool’s bassist-singer Christoffer Lundquist appears on Roxette’s latest album. Brainpool thanks Roxette in the booklet of “You Are Here” for “keeping them busy”. But on the contrary to Roxette, Brainpool boasts in the booklet that “no sequencers, computers or samplers were used”.

Next single and other plans for the future
Written by roxeteer on March 30, 1999 to Misc.
The album has now been released in the UK, but North America is still waiting for the release.
Per told at www.haveaniceday.nu that the singles released from the new album will be (in chronological order) “Anyone” (April-May-June), “Stars” (July-August), “Salvation” and “Crush On You”. “Stars” remixes are also waiting to be released.
In Japan Roxette has apparently already released a double A-side single “Pay The Price / Anyone”.
The video for “Anyone” was recently shot in Portugal. The director is Jonas Åkerlund, who also directed the “Wish I Could Fly” video.
Per has also given hints about a Roxette box-set (it rhymes quite nicely, doesn’t it :-). The box is likely to contain at least an official release of Roxette’s Unplugged concert back in 1993.
Next Roxette home video may contain in addition to the Roxette tracks the excellent Gessle videos “Do You Wanna Be My Baby?” and “Kix”.

New album on Capitol label in Canada?
Written by roxeteer on March 30, 1999 to Misc.
According to Per the new album is likely to be released in Canada on Capitol label.
In the USA, however, things aren’t going very well. Lars-Erik Olsson, who told us about Roxette’s negotiations with Epic in the US, said recently at Rox Britannia that “the deal with Epic seems to have fallen through and it looks unlikely that the album will be out on July 4th”.
