Who do you think has the 2nd best voice?

besides Marie??

For years no-one came close to Marie but now I have found someone else who has touched my heart with their voice.

She is a finalist from Australian Idol her name is Cosima De Vito (Italian parents) and her voice is amazing! You can check out her brilliant voice here:

She will be a star!

I think I’m just excited cause I met her at the airport before her trip to the States and she was soooo nice :)

But Marie will always be the best :) :)

Annie Lennox. Brilliant!

Michael Stipe of R.E.M.

No offense, but I actually pity someone who doesn’t like R.E.M. They seriously are musical Gods! Check out the song Nightswimming on the below website (check their discography - under the album ’Automatic For The People’). 4.13 of Pure Georgousness!

Enjoy!

Celine Dion!!

1-Annie Lennox/Sinead O’Connor
2-Marie Fredriksson

I defintely think Marie has a better voice than Annie Lennox and Sinead much more poweful and diverse but then that’s my opinion :)

K: If you like Celine then you would love Cosima’s voice, did you check it out? She does ’My heart will go on’ brilliantly

i liked rem when they were relevant dont get me wrong i love rem and monster was by far one of thgeir most underrated albums, but when i saw michlae stipe selling out by doing an unplugged set with dashboard confessional i nearly threw my tv out of the window.

as for best 2nd voiuce hmmm lets see.

Enya for her subtle softness and etherealness

celin dion for having one of the most fleible voices in the world, i love how shes added a bit more jazz to her music

sarah mclachlan: much the way of enya shes so sublte yet emotive

chrstina agullera: i dont liek her image as of late but whats at her core is one of the mosat amazing voice a girl her age could have and god bless her for ALMOST coming out with her beautiful video the girls got balls

Don’t get me wrong, I love Marie’s voice, actually is one of the best, but she’s long way far from Celine Dion. Celine has the best voice in show bussiness. Whitney Houston, Mariah (when she sang), Amy Lee, and Christina Aguilera are part of the list too.

In male voices, Rick Astley had the best voice of last times, but Chris Issak, Westlife guys, George Michael, and others have great voices too.

ladies: Mariah Carey
gentlemen: George Michael.

I think Marie has a unique voice, all those big singers (Celine & co) can “only” sing high, that’s their kind of skill, but Marie has such a voice I have never heard or recognised in any other artist, such as Lennox + her voice, it’s also unique, even though I don’t like it as much as Marie’s, I prefer it to any of those high - pitched ones.

And what I love about Marie’s voice is the feeling she puts in it, she seems not to care so much about how perfect or high she can sing but cares about the feeling. And this is what I like in singers. Eva doesn’t have a brilliant voice either, but it is full of feelings and warmth and softness.. she can’t even sing really high, or Melissa, her strong and sexy and seducing voice.. something I can’t find in Carey-alike voices, they are “too perfect” and too cold for me. Sound to me as pre-fabricated or something. From all these “big” voices I prefer Celine though.

So for woman voices I choose Marie, Eva + Melissa in no particular order.

For men: Daniel from Eskobar, Brett from Suede, Tomas Ledin.

Btw, anyone knows when Suede will release sth new again??

Patrik Isaksson... SWOOOOON.
His voice does funny things to me. ;)

didn´t Suede split up?

yummm patrick issacson!!!!!!!!!!!

rick astley lol shame hes washed up i loved his voice, as for men hmm lets see as annoying as he is michale bolton has a huge voice, enrique iglesias and marc anthony are really good too !

you guys are right marie has a very dynamic voice alot of todays artists think that power belting is singing which it ISNT!

@Judith: There’s nothing left to add :) You hit the nail on the head! Thanks!

Such a shame, what happened to Cosima on Idol. I think Guy would still have won if Cosima had made it to the final, though(although I’m not a fan of his vocal acrobatics). I reckon Cosima’s version of ’Unpredictable’ was waaaay better than that Delta(I’m so sick of her)Goodrem’s! Although I have not met Cosima, she certainly comes across as a lovely girl.
By the way, did she get a record deal?

Annie Lennox for me also, Same style of voice as marie , i call it an soulful/emotion voice.

Roxer93: Cosima is currently working with Diane Warren (famous songwriter) in the States writing and recording an album which will be released here later in the year, she will be releasing ’When the war is over’ a new version of the song she performed on Idol. I don’t know if you saw that performance but it was amazing!

Diane Warren eh? Love her work!! This is sure to be quite an album!!

not to mention Marie, here’s my list

1. Sheryl Crow
2. Madonna
3. Sinead O’Connor
4. Dolores O’Rierden (hope I wrote that right)
5. The singer in Sixpence None The Richer
6. The singer in The Bangles..

as for guy,
hmmm..... Richard Marx and Tommy Page :)

Sarah Brightman

Oh yes, SHERYL CROW!! Great voice!

Who said MArie is first anyways?

obviously for the person who started this topic Marie’s voice is on first place...

For me she is on first place but she shares it with 2 others :P

I think Marie has the best voice :) That’s my opinon though :)

I think that Marie sounded the best during the LS days but she still has one heck of a voice!
