Life goes on, we’ll beat them in the 90th and 93rd minute when we play them in the final. ;)
*folds Beckham shirt up neatly and puts away until Thursday*
You don’t go passing the ball back to your goalie when Theirry Henry is about (who had done nothing all match anyways) The bloke isn’t top goal scorer in the premier league for nothing.
Come on Sweden! :-)

ally77 said on June 15, 2004 18:46:

I’d love to see Beckham run a Marathon!!
Vixzter said on June 15, 2004 19:02:
He’s a footballer not a marathon runner, different kind of fitness required.

btw.. this Kahn is frightening! :O Where was he when evolution from monkey to human being took place? :D
harriej said on June 15, 2004 20:35:
Finally 1-1 by a great goal of Ruud van Nistelrooij.
Last 15 minutes were acceptable.
Hopefully next two games will be like those 15 minutes, but the first part of the game was rubbish!
And why did Dick Advocaat (coach) leave Roy Makaay on the bench?
This dutch team can do much better than today, but do show it almost never. Why??
The persons to blame on dutch side are Dick Advocaat and Edwin vd Sar (the german goal was his fault, it wasn’t so difficult to catch that ball).
Anyway, I am glad that it became 1-1.
Vixzter said on June 16, 2004 05:29:
@ally77: no coz England actauly played very well until the 90th minute.
ally77 said on June 16, 2004 06:42:

Mari said on June 16, 2004 07:34:
England played well. And today England plays well and they will win! England have to win! Go England, go Beckham, go Rooney!
tcooh said on June 16, 2004 11:25:
Well I the team I support is the Norwegian referee trio, with Terje Hauge as main referee. He is to referee Portugal - Russia tonight. They’re the only ones from Norway there, and I know him well as he is the administrator for local referees here in Bergen.
But as for real teams, of course I hope for Sweden to go all the way. 5-0 was really impressing! And I felt really sorry for England, they did not deserve to lose like that. Let hope Beckham can build of his teammates confidence beofre the next match.
Mari said on June 16, 2004 13:06:
Yeah! I thought today is Thursday!!! And I have wrote every where June 17th :D Oh, what a big mess here in office :D
Vixzter said on June 16, 2004 16:13:
@ally77: its not all about scoring a hatfull of goals, they defended extremely well (excluding the final few minutes when the mistakes were made by a forward and a midfielder anyways) agaisnt one of the best teams in the world which includes the world player of the year. Henry and Zidane were practicaly non exsistant!
I wouldve settled for a draw before the game unfortunately it wasn’t to be but still looking forward to tomorow just don’t expect it to be a massive roll over coz the Swiss defend very well in numbers.
Come on England!! (am I the only optomistic person left in this country?)
Spain 0-0 Greece, 15 mins gone
Vixzter said on June 16, 2004 17:27:

Vixzter said on June 16, 2004 17:31:

Vixzter said on June 16, 2004 17:47:

another yellow card for the Greeks
free kick spain,....
Vixzter said on June 16, 2004 17:52:
1-1 final result! Beware of Greeks bearing gifts ;)
Raul did miss a total sitter though, free header over the bar. *tut tut*
Portugal v Russia next, just enough time for me to grab some food and beer ;)
Jud (moderator) said on June 16, 2004 18:20:
*sigh* too bad the Spaniards didn’t goal even if they tried and tried and tried...
I didn’t know half of the players though :O am I spending too much time OUT of Spain????
Btw, I read somewhere that players must take an acting course if they wanna become something, there they learn how to throw themselves on the floor, complain as if they had broken something and then suddenly be fine again when the magic spray is used.
/sarcasm OFF :D
Vixzter said on June 16, 2004 18:33:

BTW....still 1-0 Portugal, I can see why they lost to Greece ;) Russia’s reserve keeper is playing well, waiting for Figo to do something.....anything would be nice.

Vixzter said on June 16, 2004 20:27:
Oki doki ;)
well anyway......Russia really deserve to score, playing with 10 men but you wouldn’t notice, as in the last game they’re good until they get infront of goal and then they haven’t got a bloody clue
87th minute

Jud (moderator) said on June 16, 2004 20:39:
bleh - the PT weren’t playing fine, Russia was defending like hell.. (even not really attacking)
*sigh*
I think ES-PT will be exciting and I doubt PT is out.. they are the hosts.. remember what happened in Corea 2 years ago *grr*
harriej said on June 16, 2004 20:41:
Judith: what was wrong with Corea going through?
Was a nice surprise.
Vixzter: Is that already sure (that Greece is through??)
If Greece wins or has a draw that’s indeed sure, but what if Greece looses and Spain draws (then Portugal and Greece both have 4 points; is then their game against each other deciding?) or if
Portugal wins and Greece looses (then Spain and Greece both have 4 points)
Vixzter said on June 16, 2004 20:42:
Portugal need to play Christiano Ronaldo from the start against Spain, find somewhere for him to play alongside Figo and they might just get in there.
Should be a good game though :)
Vixzter said on June 16, 2004 20:50:
I might not possibly be available for comentary during Englands game agaisnt Switzerland tomorrow ;)
There may have to be some editing of the thread, as choice words might be used LOL
Jud (moderator) said on June 16, 2004 20:54:
the only possibility for Spain to stay is to win *sigh*
and Corea: a nice *surprise*?
Rich-UK said on June 16, 2004 21:55:
I’m still optimistic for England! It’s knock outs now though so now more messing up. I think that they’ll beat Switzerland, Croatia and Greece then it’s the semis and anything’s possible. I reckon they would have a good chance in a revenge seeking final against France. I’d be happy with five 1-0s now... Rich
Vixzter said on June 16, 2004 21:57:
so would i....but comfortable 1-0’s ....not the 1-0’s like against France when I always had a nagging feeling they might nick something (didn’t think it would be all bloody 3 points though LOL)
Vixzter said on June 16, 2004 22:39:
Rich: it comes for many years of watching England fail ;) Italia ’90 :...( Euro ’92 what a balls up! WC’94 didn’t even get there! Euro ’96....well shit penalties again! France ’98.....bugger!....Euro 2000 WTF! WC 2002.....bottled it in the 2nd half!

@Vixzter: Wasn’t the match up between Brazil and England in the 2002 WC a historic match ? During the first half the 175 million brazilians were kinda worried even though we knew we would give England a hell of a tough time. As we know now, it came out better tahn expected playing with 10 players.
Fact:
I say that we knew we’d give you guys a hell of a tough time ’cause history tells us that everytime Brazil plays England after the group matches we beat England and end up being world chapioms. Wasn’t different this time.
Anyway, it was a nice game man. Loved it even though you guys gave us a horrible scare. :-)
Take care.
Carlos E., New York.

last 20 secounds
Rich-UK said on June 17, 2004 20:33:
The best results today for England. The chances are that Switzerland won’t draw with France but even so England can still technically finish top of the group. So England ’only’ need a draw with Croatia to qualify in 2nd place but given the performances today I wouldn’t say that was a forgone conclusion. Right, here’s to Monday, game on. Rich

harriej said on June 19, 2004 20:40:
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
If I ever see that referee, he will be a dead man!
- Not giving a penalty to Ruud van Nistelrooij
- Giving a second yellow (and thus red) card to Jhonny Heitinga for nothing
And also Dick Advocaat is stupid, taking the best man of the field (Arjen Robben) off and putting in that lousy Bosvelt. That’s asking for problems!!
And Cocu, with all his experience, should know better not play such balls through the center (causing the 1-1).
I am angry right now!!
The dutch team played well, escpecially the strikers (better then they have done in long times) and deserved at least a point, but these people made sure it was 0 points!!
GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
kachina008 said on June 19, 2004 20:58:
yeah that referee was doing some strange things. wonder why?!?!
kachina008 said on June 19, 2004 21:01:
that too ;)
my bf was also going like what?@?!?! no penalty!??!?!?!
harriej said on June 19, 2004 21:12:
Very frustrating, it was one of the best matches the Netherlands played in a long time and then loosing in this way.
@#$%%
Vixzter said on June 19, 2004 21:43:
oh bugger i missed it all, watched The Day After Tomorrow instead, football would probably have been more exciting.
harriej said on June 19, 2004 21:43:
Thanks for the support!
Now I hope that the Czechs will play in the same way against Germany, so the germans loose.
If The Netherlands play like this evening, and have an other referee (and Dick Advocaat for once uses his brain, if he has one), it must be possible to beat Latvia and to move on to the next round.
Jud (moderator) said on June 19, 2004 22:19:
let’s see how it goes tomorrow for Spain - and next week with Sweden!! :)
kriszta said on June 20, 2004 12:22:
Sweden was really good in the last 15 minutes!!Germany is a hard situation, why didn’t they win??
camillarox said on June 20, 2004 13:33:
Euro 2004: so far so good. I have enjoyed the matches I have seen so far.
Netherlands: bad luck, it wasn’t only the referee’s fault. But don’t worry Harrie, you aren’t the only one who feels angry about that: look at the Fanclub’s website.
That site sucks already enough with those great banners they added. Question: is an OFFICIAL Fanclub’s website the best place to put such banners? My answer is no. But this comment about the referee beats it all.
I hope Sweden makes it to the next round :-)
kriszta said on June 20, 2004 16:04:
Tonight Spain versus Portugal, with my dreamguy referee Anders Frisk!!
Jud (moderator) said on June 20, 2004 16:44:
yeah.. counting the hours... 2 hours left :D
Andreas was the one who “kicked” Spain out of the World Ch. 2002 *tststs* let’s see how it will be tonite!
Mari said on June 20, 2004 17:41:
For me it’s no matter which one wins. Maybe I hope Portugal wins cos it’s smaller country or maybe I hope Spain wins, cos there’s Morientes. I can’t decide. So I hope that it’s great game with lot’s of goals :)
harriej said on June 20, 2004 19:11:
I hope portugal wins.
Greece is doing bad right now 2-0 for Russia.
Maybe Spain and Portugal both can go through then.
Jud (moderator) said on June 20, 2004 19:33:
spain is doing quite bad :S do they really know what they have to do on the field???
kriszta said on June 20, 2004 19:35:

“Santi 6/12/2004 11:48 Edit
I just think Spain won’t win. They are always the big deception... “
Wow, they did it faster than what I tought it would be. They’re “improving” the way of deceiving everyone. Such a magnificent league, such a ****** national team... :-|
Santi said on June 20, 2004 21:00:
And I wonder... how can this team be 3rd in the official ranking of the FIFA? What have they done to be there!?!?! They don’t win anything since 1964 :| They are always kicked out fast!
Do the results of the “under” national teams affect this ranking???
harriej said on June 20, 2004 21:30:
Xuxa: I am so happy for you!
Good that Portugal advances (I have filled them in as winner of the tournament in my pool :)
Vixzter said on June 21, 2004 19:01:
Just coz they haven’t scored 20 goals doesn’t mean they’re not playing decently!
ally77 said on June 21, 2004 19:23:

ally77 said on June 21, 2004 19:27:

Vixzter said on June 21, 2004 19:30:
£50 Million thats what they want for him, I think it just went up to £55 ;) *roflol*
Jud (moderator) said on June 21, 2004 19:33:
this guy is good but.. what the hell is Beckham famous for??
The Croatians aren’t bad either ;) I don’t mind who wins as long as they promise good games :D
ally77 said on June 21, 2004 19:34:
Judith, I wonder the same myself... there is some talent in the England team but Becks takes the glory...
Vixzter said on June 21, 2004 19:36:
This is a good game ;) *fingers crossed for secound half* DB is loverly ;) Rooney is Shrek in disguise ;) and Micheal Owen will score in a minute ;)
Vixzter said on June 21, 2004 19:39:
If you actualy watched the work rate that David Beckham puts in during a match you’d be surprised, also....that free kick he had should have been taken again as by the time he struck it the wall was less than 6 yards away.
Jud (moderator) said on June 21, 2004 20:09:
my god where has this Rooney been until now? :D
a new star is born - ciao Becks :D
ally77 said on June 21, 2004 20:09:
Well knock me down with a feather... there are gonna be sad faces at Goodison when he leaves....
ally77 said on June 21, 2004 20:10:

Vixzter said on June 21, 2004 20:22:

Vixzter said on June 21, 2004 20:22:
as it stands England will play Portugal and France will play Greece
Jud (moderator) said on June 21, 2004 20:25:
I’m sorry for the Croatian because they are playing very well.. 2 goals against England isn’t someting to ignore ;)
Vixzter said on June 21, 2004 20:27:
Mmmmm they were playing well for the first 30mins ;) and they’ve kicked David Beckham all over the place
Vixzter said on June 21, 2004 20:30:

its all Rooneys fault ;)
Vixzter said on June 21, 2004 20:32:

Mari said on June 21, 2004 20:42:
Roooooooooooooooooooooneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! Oh such a great game!
Btw, what do you think about England’s goalie? I think David “going, not going” James is the weakest link. Beckham wasn’t good tonite, but who cares, England wins!!! Yahooooooooo!
Vixzter said on June 21, 2004 20:43:
Beckham did a job, got kicked about all over the place as for David James...... I worry when shots and crosses come in ;)
Jud (moderator) said on June 21, 2004 20:43:
LOL Vix! I was thinking when I saw him “hm he reminds me of somebody” LOL!!! Shrek!!! :D
Jud (moderator) said on June 21, 2004 20:45:
you have to watch out with Figo too ;) Btw, is the Ronaldo the guy that uses plasters for his ears instead of taking the earrings out??
Vixzter said on June 21, 2004 20:47:
@Judith: yea Ronaldo puts plaster on his ears rather than take them out......looks stupid!! but he is a fantastic player (even though he’s Man Utd) ;)
Vixzter said on June 21, 2004 20:49:
Now i’ve got to worry all over again on Thursday....talk about prolonging the agony!
Vixzter said on June 22, 2004 18:38:

Vixzter said on June 22, 2004 19:33:

Mari said on June 12, 2004 04:01:
So, who’s gonna win and what’s your fave team? I think France gonna win, again. Italy has pretty good team too. But I hope England wins! Most of Finns hope England wins, but unfortunately they don’t win this time.
