Hi,
I dont get this. I wish to play my copyof mazarin on my pc - thats all, just play it. It says you can do this on the back of the CD. Any ideas why it won’t let me?
I have windows 2000 and windows media. Tack.

my pc has auto-recognition, but still allows Mazarin’s own player to start up.... i dunooooo.... lol! different computers LOL they’re all so confusing!

START> Settings> Control panel> System>
Device Manager> CD: rom Right click on your drive you’re going to use, click properties> Settings> Untick Auto Insert notification.
Then try. :)
Xarrrr, for some reason, some drives won’t play them... I can’t play copyrighted CDs for love nor money on my samsung drive... the noises it makes trying to read, then the thing refuses to spit the CD out!
My Lite-On CD-rewriter drive will play it in Winamp, without that horrid built in player, if I turn off the auto insert.

@D
this is weird! I followed all ur instructions and cannot find an auto recogntion checkbox anywhere!
I am running Windows 2000. Thank you

Ahh is totally different on 2000. Means faffing around with the settings. You could try...
Windows 2000/XP
Run the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE).
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesCdrom.
Double-click the Autorun value, and type 0 for its value. (If it’s not there, create it by selecting Edit -> New -> DWORD Value, and typing “Autorun” for its name.)
You may have to log out and then log back in for this change to take effect.
Note: With this solution, Windows will no longer be notified when you insert a new CD. To make sure the correct icon and title for the current CD are displayed in My Computer and Explorer, press F5 to refresh the window.
I don’t have win2000, never seen or used, so can’t check. Sorry. :(

If you install AudioGrabber or WinAmp I think it lets you play it anyways. At least my W2K did. The only Windows I’ve heard is impossible to play Mazarin on is NT4. :(

hmm tried it, now my D drive doesnt recognise CDs - even when refreshing via F5
Wait its fine!

for EMI copy control , Please use below way to listen the cd if you use PC
1. You need a MarkPen
2. Drawing a line from the inside track of the data in CopyControl CD to the outside circle.
3. you can listen the music in PC.

Far too extreme to mark a CD with pen... especially if you do it at all wrong, you can’t play the CD anymore.
It’s easy enough with winME, etc to turn off the thing that realises the CD is copyrighted.
Just this time the windows is a little trickier to fool.

Go into system properties, open your CD drive... turn off auto recognition... and then select tracks... works here anyways! PC won’t touch it if my auto recognition is on.
