Anybody knows? It seems to be an MTV compilation.

This pops up on ebay all the time... I know someone who bought it and it is really poor quality...

is it legal to sell such bootlegs (as if it was official..) in ebay?
arnie said on March 6, 2004 14:16:
It’s not illegal to sell bootlegs... who said that?
Official music stores are able to sell those cd’s. They don’t tend to sell them because they’re expensive and they expect to earn money from common people, not fans...
At least in my country...
Another thing is to sell cdr’s...
Denstandigaresan said on March 6, 2004 15:04:
Yes it is illegal to sell these on Ebay actually. Read the terms and conditions of sale.
But they have so much going on they rely on the public to inform them of the item, then they remove the link.

well, it IS illegal in western europe to sell bootlegs. Bootlegs are CD’s which are brought out WITHOUT paying any money to the artist or recordlabel, and therefore they have no permission whatsoever to be released. If you would make a profit of selling these CD’,s it would be considered a crime (however if you dont make profit, it’s not). Another thing ofcourse are bootlegs which contain ’unreleased’ tracks...but then they don’t really fir the definition of bootleg...

It might not be just your average CD-r, but it is still illegal on ebay.
Jud (moderator) said on March 6, 2004 16:36:
so it just takes to report this listing to Ebay and they put it down and cancel the person’s account?
I’m kinda fine with bootlegs as long as it is stated somewhere that it is a bootleg...
Denstandigaresan said on March 6, 2004 16:55:
No, they cancel if it keeps happening... so that person could list 1000s of CDs, but only 1 out of 1000 is reported.
ally77 said on March 6, 2004 18:05:
eBay are crap half the time even after reporting they don’t remove... but seeing as I just sold most of my own bootlegs... sod it... if you can’t beat then join them!

Definitely NOT an official item... plenty of clues to that: MTV logo AND Grammy award logo; Per and Marie WEDDING pics?!?; a mish-mash of “borrowed” imagery. Better than the average bootleg, but still too amateurish to be a real item.
