Saudi sleeves

I knew that the “Have a Nice Day” cover was retouched to make it more suitable for the Middle Eastern market, but I didn’t realise that most of Roxette’s album sleeves were retouched (Saudi Arabian pressings). If you look at them carefully (they’re shown in “The Look for Roxette”), you can see that Marie’s tops have been recreated to cover her arms and chest more fully. The biggest revision was done to “Look Sharp!” where Marie’s gold bra seems to have been replaced with a black shirt. Interesting, don’t you think? I wish I had these releases!

Not sure, but if you find such a shop - post the URL here!

The ones that were modified were released by the Saudi Arabian label “Stallions” and appear to be cassette-only releases... my guess is that these were probably only sold in Saudi Arabia or on the Arabian peninsula, not in Pakistan, etc.

lawyer: Were these official releases? I mean those singles didn’t even see the face of Canada! Or I might say I never saw the face of those singles here in Canada! Damn!

The good news for you, lawyer:
EMI doesn’t release bootlegs in other countries either... ;-)
But I noted as well that there are different sleeves for S.A., since it is one of the few countries of which the cover has been printed seperately in TLFR.

Bootlegs are not officially released albums, that means... albums without endorsment or permission or production from EMI(in Roxette’s case their official label, well... Capitol now, isn’t it?) or the band themselves...
Bootlegs are made by individuals or bootleggin’ organizations...
They’re illegal most of the time, specially when they contain songs officially released by EMI (or any other “official” label)

I have one of the Saudi Arabian MC in my collection. It’s the “Tourism” album. There’s no big difference between the Saudi Arabian release and all others. Except the Stallions logo.
It’s the one which appears in the book “The look for Roxette” (page 377; including a small picture).
Here are some pictures of the MC. I hope this might help you.

I don’t think that this is a bootleg MC from Stallion Records, because it’s mentioned in the book “The look for Roxette”.

I checked out the covers in the book The Look for Roxette. The covers are definately changed on de Saudi-prints.
Even the HAND-album is without the little naked kids.

If they really had to put the naked kids on “Have A Nice Day” they should’ve done it properly. Look at the hand of one of them. Little error...

Oh, I didn’t realize the difference in the book. Is there an arabian online-shop or something with big pictures?
