Aaso said on January 23, 2004 11:20:
I like them and their music also! Everytime I listen to them I just feel so relax and my fav song is “Soledad” ...
Denstandigaresan said on January 23, 2004 15:36:
Since that Westlife song, Mandy, people have started calling me Mandy.... EWW, EWW, EWW... Never was, never will be Mandy!
Roxlander said on January 23, 2004 15:58:
I LOOOVEEE THEMMM!!! I like their songs, I like their voices, and they are sooo handsome. My favourite one is Nicky, before Shane, Kian, Mark and Bryan. My favourite songs are “My love”, “Bop Bop Baby”, “World of our own”, etc, etc, etc :-p
This Christmas my finest gift was their greatest hits DVD, I watch it over and over, they’re beautiful.
Besides they have very good voices, and I think they’re not the typical boyband, they’re better and I think they’re gonna last more.
Anyway...I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!
Denstandigaresan said on January 23, 2004 16:52:
I bought my mum their latest album and the greatest hits tour dvd for christmas... also bought her the Gareth Gates album... EEEEEEEEEK!
Vixzter said on January 24, 2004 10:14:
its manufactured pap pop ;) that stops decent bands getting into the charts :P
LaMan said on January 24, 2004 13:36:
Roxlander
what you said tells what such bands are all about.
Sad, so sad...
Where are they in 3 years? What happened to 5ive, N Sync, Boyzone?
No hard feelings, ok
Aaso said on January 26, 2004 11:11:
you can not compare Westlife with 5ive or N’sync ...!!!! They are special. They do not work only for selling! That’s why you could not hear from them as much as you heard from N’sync!!
Echoes_of_a_Doubt said on January 26, 2004 14:02:
First of all, its not ’West Life’, its Westlife! lol
I totally love Westlife, they ROCK! And of course you can not compare them to Nsync or Five or whatever.... in Europe, Westlife must have been one or even the Biggest boyband ever! I mean, how many Number ones did they have in the UK alone? Like 11 or 12? And don’t forget that the UK is the second biggest Music Market in the World! I totally love their music, yes, they do a lot of cover versions and I have never heard any other group, that made such amazing cover versions! And even their own songs are simply amazing, like ’bop bop baby’ was written by themselves... they have released 5 albums so far and have had massive number one hits from all of their albums, who else has achieved something like this? Have you ever seen them life? They are AMAZING life! What I love about them is, that they stay true to themselves and are down to earth and even though they have become one of the biggest bands ever, they are not arrogant in any way... yes, I LOVE ’EM! :-)
Echoes_of_a_Doubt said on January 26, 2004 18:08:
You can not even compare Westlife to Boyzone, first of all, they have got a totally different image, their music is completely different and the Westlife Guys can actually sing! lol
Vixzter said on January 26, 2004 19:11:
Westlife are a: Irish and b: managed (or were) by Ronan Keating.....so I see a very strong comparison to Boyzone ;)
I prefer bands like Roxette who don’t do the slick dance routines, don’t dress the same (thank god) don’t release cover after cover.
I don’t care how many records they’ve sold.....theres too many kiddies out there with far too much pocket money for record sales to be of any significance. ;)
Roxlander said on January 26, 2004 19:12:
I guess one day people said the same things about bands like Bee Gees. For me Bee Gees don’t have good voices, but they’ve made good music, great songs, and they are clasics today. Westilife boys have beautiful voices, good songs, and everything it takes to be long time stars, if they’re handsome too blame it on the nature :-9
I hope in some years those who thinks Westlife is just another boyband that will soon disappear find out they were wrong. Only time will tells.
Stormkeeper said on January 26, 2004 19:12:
and don´t forget they´re beautiful lol and that´s why they are big lol.
Vixzter said on January 26, 2004 19:32:
When they’re 35 the girls of today possibly won’t see their appeal anymore. good songs or no good songs some of their success is because of how they look.
Stormkeeper said on January 26, 2004 19:42:
ok ok let people like what they want... sorry if my comment about them hurted some fans.
Echoes_of_a_Doubt said on January 27, 2004 10:16:
@Vixzter: I know what you mean, but a lot of the ex boyzone guys actually manage some other boybands these days, and no one compares them to boyzone just because of that... Westlife is by far much more successfull than boyzone ever was and their music has got much better quality...
another thins I llike about ’em is, that they didn’t get together through some stupid casting...
malena said on February 2, 2004 21:15:
come on they’re not that bad
I like some songs... Flying without wings and that cover, Uptown Girl
Denstandigaresan said on February 2, 2004 23:53:
I can’t believe you’ve gone off them that quick Xarrrr, you were a massive fan not that long ago!
I gotta say their new song ’Obvious’, is actually the first time i’ve liked a song of theirs right out.
Vixzter said on February 3, 2004 06:17:
Ppls....you’re all right.......they’re not bad!
They’re terrible

Bryan has quit Westlife...
Westlife star Bryan McFadden has confirmed he is leaving the band to spend more time with his family.
The 24-year-old singer told a packed press conference in Dublin that the other members of the band were his four best friends and his departure was nothing to do with them. “I just feel it’s the right time to concentrate on my family and being at home as much as I can,” he added.
Although the band said they were “devastated” by the news of Bryan’s departure, they called it an amicable split and urged fans to support them now more than ever. Bryan’s wife Kerry McFadden and bandmate Nicky Byrne’s wife Georgina, Irish premier Bertie Ahern’s daughter, stood together as Bryan announced his departure.
Since emerging into the pop world five years ago, the band have had a record-breaking 12 number one singles and sold 30 million records.
The move has sparked speculation Brian could pair up with his ’queen of the jungle’ wife Kerry for joint television work.
The four remaining band members have vowed to press on without McFadden, but many believe his announcement could mark the end for the Irish band.
Max Clifford, who is public relations adviser for the McFaddens, said Bryan had told the band he was going to leave at the weekend because he wanted to spend more time with his family, including his two daughters Molly, two, and Lily-Sue, one.
He said: “Westlife are about to embark on a world tour and Bryan doesn’t want to be away from Kerry and the children. He felt that this was the right time. This was the time to do his own thing - to concentrate on his own career and family.”
“At the weekend he sat down and talked it through with the band. He’s not doing the tour but he might do something in Ireland. That remains to be seen.”
Pop Idol’s Simon Cowell has already talked to Kerry about a project for the couple, but the singer is also considering solo work.
Mr Clifford said: “I will be sitting down with Bryan and Kerry over the next few weeks, talking through all the various offers of music, TV etc. They are looking at projects together but it has to fit in with their family commitment. Both of them feel the same way.”

Awwww. ;)

It’s ok....if the do split coz of him leaving I’m sure there will be something along to replace them shortly ;) otherwise where will the brainwashed teenagers spend their money?
;)
Roxlander said on March 10, 2004 18:29:
I’m a Westlife fan, and those are sad news for me. I hope it won’t cause the group’s split, like already happened with other bands when some member leave. If they keep it together and go on, it will be another step to show Westlife is beyond boy bands.

I like Flying Without Wings and a duet with M Carey. There has always been such bands
harriej said on July 1, 2004 19:40:
The earlier they are finished, the better.
It is horrible music (if you may call it music).
RUBBISH!
Same goes for Back Street Boys and N’Sync, Blue and similar groups.
Westlife is a shame for Ireland (The Corrs are a good irish band)
RoxHard said on July 2, 2004 00:50:
As a self-respecting male - I have to tell you all:
“Go shove your ****** ****** Westlife up your *** **** *******!!!!!!!”
They are bland, insipid, weak, tasteless, talentless, laclustre, nondescript and BORING... oh so boring! They are rubbish, talentless imbeciles, managed by an imbecile who is even more imbecilic than the other imbeciles!
By the way - Louis Walsh (their manager) has just stated that their next album - (which he hinted will be their last) - is gonna be filled with ’duets and covers’. Guess what - one of those covers is gonna be a Garth Brooks song! They make nothing but rubbish boring ballads - who are listened to by no one but 40 year old mothers with nothing better to do with their time!
They are terrible! Good riddance! Astalavista! Bye bye baby! And so on...
