wanna another stupid version?

recently i discovered another stupid version. it is a song by polish artist [great by the way] artur gadowski. check this link out cos i think this song is totally smiliar to stupid... is almost the same :) plagiarism? i don’t think so. i just want to show you how different people from different parts of the world can write similiar music ;)

http://jackeill.test.averne.org/artur_gadowski_-_zapalniczka.mp3

wow, this song is so much more like stupid than enrique’s free =) how old is this one? is this band famouse? charts? thy lyrics sound like a mix of english french and italian ... but nice in a way.

Ts ts ts it’s not a coincidence, it simply CAN’T be so. That’s plagiarism!

Wow! This is really very similar; it even has the same order of arrangements as Stupid. But I don’t think it’s a plagiarism as long as the melody is different. Anyway, I do like the song! Thanks for sharing!
BTW, the song was released in 2000 as I just found out.

yep it is a song from 2000. artur gadowski isn’t a band, however this man sings in very popular rock group called ’ira’. they have many hits right here in poland, for me it’s one of our best rock bands ;).

if you like his songs, write to me i could share some more... ;)

btw, ira sounds like something between old bon jovi and gyllene tider.

well listen to Tom Petty and you will recognise lots of Per’s melodies ;) BUT this song is TOO MUCH!!! TOO similar I mean :S :O :O

Sb should let Per listen to it. It even has this weird voice effect :S

(just editing as I hear the song)

Well, it’s like somebody else said... I could accept that the melody was a striking coincidence, but the arrangements?! C’mon! The distortion of the vocal in the third verse is just too much! There’s far more similarity between this song and “Stupid” than there was between “God Is a Girl” and “Jefferson”... and we know how that turned out!

Thanks for sharing this, Jackeill... it’s a very good song (naturally... so is “Stupid”!).

I never ever heard a song which is that similar to Roxette´s “Stupid”. For me it´s just a polish cover of “Stupid”. There´s no discussion for me. Hope they will tell everyone that the music is from Roxette and not only from themselves.

hi.anybody hear me?

christ hello plagerism lol btw i like the instrumentation in this better than the spun/pop hits version

@CapricornGirl: Yes, loud and clear! Welcome to TDR!

Thank you Roxtexanet.

talk about you plz roxtexanet.

anyway.bye.

It’s only plagerism if they actually “borrow” a melody (chorus/verse) - the guitar riff and basic structure of the song are the only things that have been “borrowed” in this song. It doesnt count. If that was the truth then MrG wouldve been in court constantly.

Cheers

OMG this is Ctrl+C + Ctrl+V!!!

@KixGuy: ha ha ha... cool...

no carbon boy, Per could sue... and even against Iglesias jr too.

everyone read and listen

Not to harp on this subject seeing that this is like the 100th time plagiarism has been a topic on the forum, all the cases stated above were exactly what I mentioned be4 - chorus/verse/melody. To use a guitar riff is completely different than using a bass line, etc. Right? If that was the case Gessle should share the creds for (most famous case of all) Dressed For Success with The Troggs etc. But that is not the case, right? Same thing here. I do however find the similiarities in the 2 songs (Stupid “rip-off”) - the riff ofcourse and the structure. He definitely heard Stupid and copied those 2 things. I dont hear any melody similiarities though.

Cheers

read and listen

@KixGuy: Very sharp thinking, good one! LOL!

To me that song is Stupid sung in another language, I’ll sue!

ohh, please!!!! it is STUPID in other languaje!!!!!!!!
c’mon!!!!!
by the way..which song of enrique are u people talking about???? tell me!!!

Enrique’s song we discussed before is called Free.... but well compared with that Polish one the difference doesn’t seem that big anymore.
