Per's wife. What does she do?
Max-Tob said on January 12, 2004 08:04:
I personally don’t know anything about Åsa’s present interests. Being Per Gessle’s wife is it really a full time job? At the end, she only has one child to take care of and I suppose she doesn’t cook once a day. Does anybody know something about her hobbies or other kind of occupations? It must be something...I suppose Per hasn’t a wife that does anything at all all day long, only watch tv and talking on the phone... I know she is a very carrying and tender wife but...that would be all? As Per said somewhere (in a booklet I think) that she is an underestimated feminist, I suppose that - at least for the sake of feminists’ “doctrine” - she does something more than being a good wife... I remembered when Per said once how much he admires Marie for touring, working that hard and taking care of 2 children... So, it’s hard (and almost said) to believe that he wants his wife to be everywhere with him without letting her to do anything on her own... Anyone should do - at least from time to time - his/her thing...Don’t you think?
So, any piece of information about Åsa’s interests?

I know that she works a lot with the “Hotell Tylösand”, much more than Per... ;)
yoona said on January 12, 2004 12:37:
I know a girl who worked there and she said that Åsa was there very often and wanted to change “everything” in the hotel.
For example she decided that the uniforms ´d be black instead of grey-blue.
This idea wasn´t very populer because it was summer and very warm.
But the got the new uniforms anyway.
My friend said that she is quite ” bossy” .
I don´t know her, so I don´t know.

Before Gabbe was born, she worked in Roxette managment as Per´s PA...
Max-Tob said on January 12, 2004 14:51:
And what’s a personal assistent? What a PA actually does for a living? He-he-he (I have no idea, really)

just met her 2x and both she did a favour for me - so can just think of her as a very sweet caring person. Those who hate her are just jealous ;)
Denstandigaresan said on January 12, 2004 21:38:
She’s nice, yep. :) She let me stand in front of her at the Roxette showcase in London. :)
Although, she did give us the evils when we got off the train in Halmstad eh Xarrrr. ;););) Wonder why that was. :D:D
Liesebieke said on January 12, 2004 22:03:
@den ständigaresan: what did she do then?
(you probably mentioned that a hundred times before but please tellit once more...)
I think Åsa is beautiful and nice... Bossy? I think every woman has to be a bit bossy to be heard! It’s a man’s world you know!
Take care Åsa
Denstandigaresan said on January 12, 2004 22:07:
Xarrrr was wearing a Roxette T-shirt. When we arrived in Halmstad, Asa was sat in her car outside the train station, she was picking up a woman and kiddy who were on the same train... she spotted Xarrrrs’ t-shirt, and her face kinda dropped. :D *Oh my god, the invasion has started* ;)
Xarrrr changed the T-Shirt after that in McDonalds toilets. :D
Jud (moderator) said on January 12, 2004 22:11:
well I guess she was more like “oh no, the invasion of MY home will start soon” ;)
Denstandigaresan said on January 12, 2004 22:18:
LOL! Not by us I should say. We did get driven past quickly... but you can’t see anything.
felicity-brown said on January 13, 2004 01:12:
LOL Walking through Halmstad, we couldn’t wait for Ailsa to change her shirt! :D ;)
Max-Tob said on January 13, 2004 09:18:
The conclusion of this thread: DO NOT WALK THE ROADS OF HALMSTAD WEARING A ROX-T-SHIRT FOR GOD’S SAKE!!!! YOU’RE GONNA DRIVE ÅSA OUT OF HER WITS AND SO YOU’LL SPOIL PER’S DAY!!!

I ´ve read this interview in “Hänt Extra”.
But don´t forget that “Hänt” is one of the worst tabloids in Sweden , so maybe the reporter didn´t even speak to Åsa. “Hänt” were sued many times for lies and fake interviews.
The title is ” Det är Åsa som alltid lägger sista handen vid min frisyr ” from 2001.
Reporter: Is it you Åsa. who both take care of Gabriel, Per and the whole home?”
Åsa: Yes, that´s me. To be a housewife is no dance on the roses. There is so many things to fix at home and in the office.”
R. : But you have your opportunities , so you don´t need to scrub the floor, don´t you?”
Å. : Yes, there is someone who takes care of the housecleaning. But I fix the other part of the cleaning, do the dishes and scrub.
Why shouldn´t I do that?
I am no” luxury-wife “, but just as down to the earth as Per.”
According to the newspaper they were interviewed after the Grammisgalan .
Per talked about Gabbe, and his weight loss and his new hair do.
yoona said on January 13, 2004 10:23:
@Wendy
My friend Lotta who worked in Hotel Tylösand said that Åsa is bossy.
( She is U2 fan , doesn´t like Roxette and mum of 2 , so she is not jelous at Åsa or anything.)
I only met Åsa once, for 2 minutes, and she seemed to be very nice, but I don´t know her.
arnie said on January 13, 2004 11:25:
Maybe she doesn’t like roxette because Per has to spend so much time with Marie.... mmm
dubacik said on January 13, 2004 16:18:
I also had the opportunity to meet Asa not only once and she was always nice to me... I think the most important is that Per is happy with her... so we should be happy he is happy...
Max-Tob said on January 13, 2004 16:48:
@yoona: The interview looks pretty “real” to me... It’s very possible that those answers belong to Åsa. So, it seems that she’s, in fact, the “administratrix” of all Per’s goods (the substantial and the symbolical ones as well). In these terms, I don’t know what Per would do without her!! I’m sure she’s very grounded and Per is, somehow, dependent on her (she brings security to him, in every sense of the term).
She keeps a clean and safe house (in the largest sense of the word) so that Per could escape as often as he wants in his imaginary world and bring some more sublime melodies and lyrix that are so much about some kind of juvenile feelings and romantism that have nothing to do with the pragmatism of an usual life.
As far as I know, Per is also very grounded so, I suppose he keeps any romantic emotion that cross through his mind for creating a new song. He-he...And thus bringing more money for his wife to administrate.
Don’t mind me, I was kind of joking (I think.)
Shane said on January 13, 2004 17:00:
Maybe she is a housewife during the day and a crimefighter at night. AmazingAsa - kind of like Wonderwoman
Jud (moderator) said on January 13, 2004 17:10:
well to the eyes of most workers, bosses are that, bossy ;)
Btw, now I remember, I think I heard somewhere she is some kind of manager in the hotel?? maybe that’s why she goes around changing uniforms? :P
patolucas said on January 13, 2004 18:00:
She makes happy to Per!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the only ONE important thing!!She cares about Gabbe and how to spend the Per’s money!!!je,je,je
No,she’s really polite and lovely!!I met her and i was talking for minutes with her and she’s simply great!
wendy said on January 13, 2004 20:08:
Well, you can’t know a person if you just talked with him/her for a couple of minutes :p
Well,conclusion : Per loves her,she loves Per,they’re together so much time already,she haves to be lovely,at least,for him :p
BTW,Dave, what do you mean?? :s Did i said something wrong or so?? I thoguth it was a compliment if someone says about you you are bossy :p At least, for me it is :D And,My friend?? He likes roxette more as me ;)
erweetiran said on January 13, 2004 22:12:
It sounds like she is not a very nice person and that she can be a handfull!
I always wondered what is Per’s motivation behind ALL those sad ballads ;o)
Max-Tob said on January 14, 2004 09:55:
Actually I would like to be Per. Åsa is a great woman. I wish I had a wife that takes care of me, unfortunatelly my own wife waits for me to pay the bills, do the dishes, walk Bob (our dog) in the park and bring her home with my car (but I still love her, he-he-he).
Anyway, I think Per said somewhere that it isn’t very easy to live with a person like his wife...But I guess everybody says that from time to time.
yoona said on January 14, 2004 14:16:

My friend Lotta doesn´t like Per or G.T either.
She doesn´t dislike them , but she is not interested.
Mutley said on January 14, 2004 21:31:
If you want my honest option, I think this thread is inappropriate. After all, we are Roxette fans because we like their music, and what Per’s wife does or what her personality is like is non of our business. No-one on here knows Asa well enough to discuss her here, so its coming across as being bitchy.
I think we’ve overstepped the line. I’m sure I won’t be popular for this reply, but its how I feel.
LittleSpooky said on January 15, 2004 04:06:
Mut: I understand your point of view. However, it’s just normal human curiosity.
Personally, I’d like to meet the whole lot of em, shake hands, say thank you for all you’ve done and call it a day. This is just me.
Max-Tob said on January 15, 2004 08:20:
No one crossed any line here. Things like these are said by Per, Marie or any other artists in any interview...
No one discussed intimate things and harmed no one...And besides, I’m pretty sure that Asa would not be interested if people here do discuss or do not discuss her job/role/hobbies...And Per either!!!
If I am not wrong, I saw some girls here saying that Per didn’t even rejected the idea of writing fanfictions, which, to be honest, looks to me like crossing the line of decency a little bit too more. But he said - If I am correct - “I have nothing against fanfictions” or something like that. If I’d be him, I wouldn’t agree with this kind of intimate stories regarding his fictional relationship with Marie or God knows who...
So, where’s the harm in asking what his wife do?? Every journalist asks these kind of q’s...(without even working for a tabloid newspaper...)
A decent curiosity is more than normal. It’s really commonsensical...

I haven’t finished reading all the threads to this topic, but I guess she is Gessle’s #1 fan and that is why she follows him everytime he travels.
I met her last year cos I just wanted to say hi -and also pleaded for a GT tour on my behalf (hey it worked!) and she seemed quite nice.
Denstandigaresan said on January 15, 2004 14:06:
When it starts going into what a bad boss she is etc... it’s crossing the line somewhat. That’s nothing to do with Per/Roxette... and nothing to do with us.
The staff at Hotel Tylösand are brilliant... obviously something right going on there.
Max-Tob said on January 12, 2004 08:06:
...Sorry... I intended to say “sad”, not “said” somewhere above...
I hope I didn’t do anything wrong by raising this topic. We’ll see anyway...
Happy birthday, Per!
