Best "Istrumental-Part"

As you might know, Per includes a kind of “Instrumental-Part” in every song. Although it lasts only 10 or 20 seconds.
So, which of these parts, in your opinion, is the best?
I like those of Breathe and TCOTH very much.

Best wishes, Songwriter

The intro of From Head to Toe

perhaps these are better known as “middle eights”, although those can also contain vocals.

As you originally said, The Centre of The Heart and Breathe both have great middle eights. I also love the one in Run To You, and Milk And Toast And Honey, while Marie and Per sing the middle eight of I Was So Lucky beautifully.

There was a thread on this a while ago, in which I probably said almost the same thing.

Breathe popped into my head immediately. Good one that.

the outro on “Hearleys and Indians” is just awsome

middle-8s?

Well, I LOVE the part in the middle of “It Takes You No Time To Get Here”.. sooooo emotional...

The intro to Come Back Before You Leave

Things Will Never Be The Same.(Beginning)

I Remember You.(Beginning)

Physical Fascination(I think it is... from again, I think[I don’t own] FLAF CD single) The more guitar based twiddly bit in the middle.(Not heard in a long time, as I don’t have the CD. But I LOVED it. :) )

Those are the ones I can think of, offhand.

The strings section on “I don’t want to get hurt” always give me goosebumps.

My world, my love, my life (intro - one great delay FX)
Crush on you (intro - dance drum kit + solid dist. GT sound - just perfect)
Beautiful things (that wonderful chorus theme!)
I’m sorry (intro - simple but powerful)
Breathe (intro - playing with accents)
Little miss Sorrow (intro - oh, this one is a true masterpiece: who could ever think that an EP and a simple synth. bright piano lead might sound like that! - combined with pan delay and very nice compression - shit, it’s miraculous)
Lots of other fantastic themes...

We really should thank Per and Clarence for virtually the best sound in the world! This is what I love Roxette for - their colourful, original sound. Thank those in the studios who made our lives full of great music!!!

Wish I Could Fly– the strings part is just so perfect.

it hurts has a great middle 8
breathe but i wish it was a live string section instead of snths
come back befro you leave has a great one too

The instrumental part in Breathe. When I first heard this part,I loved the song.

Yes, the instrumental part of Breathe is great but it’s in fact Maries intro of “I en tid som var” (we discussed it already), but it doesn’t matter, because it keeps in the “family”.

I love also the part in IDWTGH and of course in IMHBL.

I have to say “It Will Take A LOng Long Time”, “Love Doesn´t Live Here” and “Wish You The Best”. Absoloutely beautiful!

Cooper (i think in the closer to god version) –> instrumental instead of the chorus

The Rain, just listened to it today, just beautiful and breathe is really nice too :)

The intro of “The Weight of the World” is beautiful too.I can’t stop playing it (my poor piano:))
And of course “It will take...”,the piano part of IMHBL, the intro of LTYH(it’s like symbol of Roxette for me)...well, all the instrumental parts are great.

Don´t forget the intro of Sleeping in my car, my dear friends! Brilliant!

I love topics like this.
the first thing i thought of was the middle 8 in it will take a long long time. such a powerful break to the song. mmmm, perfect!

The violins on the end of “Listen to your heart”... simply amazing.

the piano solo for me in IMHBL i like, also like the strings on TCOTH aswell.

It Hurts

He’s sooooooooooo good at writing those and the middle eights. Run To You—fantastic—I Don’t Wanna Get Hurt, It Takes You No Time—both instrumental parts that I really like. I find myself singing along with them. Those parts are a few of the reasons I love Roxette. (Except the Make My Head Go Pop liturgical chorus—never quite worked for me.)
