it is very hard to separate vocals from music, it’s almost impossbile to do such thing just with simple pc. try goldwave, it’s shareware, there are lots of options, maybe you’ll find something interesting.

I can never find one. The only way I can think of doing it is if you find a song that has instrumental sections, which are the same as the parts with vocals in them, and just replace the vocals with those bits. I’ve heard a few good remixes (extended versions especially) that make it a bit easier to do...if you know what you’re doing before hand.

@Ferdan: Can cool edit really do such a work perfectly? Which menu?
tevensso (moderator) said on October 23, 2003 10:49:
No not perfectly, but I agree it’s one of the best programs around. Also Soundforge works similarly. But it’s really hard to filter them out.
Ferdan said on October 24, 2003 00:58:
No program can perfectly “erase” the vocals of a song, because it all depends in the kind of recording. For the vocals to dissapear completely they have to be perfectly recorded in Mono... totally in Mono (The center stereo channel)
In cool edit go to ->favorites -> vocal cut

@Ferdan: What version of CEP? My favourites section is empty...

2.0
well, go to Effects -> Amplitude -> Channel Mixer -> and chose de Vocal Cut preset.
