Glenn McDonald-- eloquent music critic

Has anyone ever visited this guy’s site? He’s an American music critic who actually *likes* Roxette! He’s pretty darn eloquent.

Check out an example of one of his reviews:

funny :D

Oh I liked that! ;)

Yeah, it’s worthwhile wading through and reading all of his roxette related reviews- this page is of particular interest:

I realize, of course, that many people loathe them. Moreover, they’re often held to be, along with ABBA, the antithesis of true rock and roll, and proof that the Swedes should stick to building safe cars and keep their mouths shut. In the unlikely event that those of you dead set against the band are willing to keep reading, though, let me urge you to consider giving Roxette a second chance.

HUH never heard such critics about ABBA or Swedish music :S I always thought ppl considered Sweden a great music factory.. ah but that was written in 95...

ok if this guy supposedly likes roxette and presumable owns all their albums then why did he not know almost unreal was not an unrecorded track....he does hit the point on the nail about them tho and sadly its why they will never be as ” huge” as abba ever were

but who cares!

Glenn McDonald also wrote a review about The Ballad Hits and The Pop Hits... he’s not too crazy about those compilations...

The guy is such a hoot!

@Judith:

You should also take into account that the guy is writing from a North American perspective, where most people don’t realize that Sweden is such a music factory– we only know that Sweden produces hockey players, and that the Swedes gave us Ikea, the Swedish Bikini Team, ABBA, Roxette, the boxy-but-safe Volvo automobile and Skor chocolate bars, most of which we are grateful for. :-)

you should read all of his reviews, he even reviewed Gyllene Tider albums and MF albums....

Glenn McDonald for President—at least of a record company.

Good way to wake up. Thanks

that was eloquent, balanced, refined and intelligent. Actually worth the reading. Good Call.

Now all we have to do is wait for Glenn to review Per’s Mazarin album...

He’s right about the TBH & TPH tracklists. It’s far more fun to change between pop and ballads, a point that gives the spice to Roxette’s normal albums. The rest of the review is pure iTunes advertising, ha ha! ;-)
