We are a lot of fans around the world, but not stupids. We love ROXETTE, PER SOLO and MARIE SOLO, but we are not stupids.

then he has to told it to the fans...and that´s not all
no matter where he is, or why he is there, it alwys comes to this topic....
for him it was ever since Roxette started the international career with Roxette that counts...
all his solowork or GT work was made in the breaks Marie decided to take
it was her decision back in 1995
and even today it is her decision when Roxette starts again....
Per once told, he is only waiting for her to say that she is ready to work with Roxette again...
but well...blame him for being honest

Listen carefully: be happy you are not living in some Asian or African countries and you can at least afford a radio to listen to your idols! something inside me tells me that Gessle has to just grin and bear it - walk around saying it’s a damn good idea with the DVD, while it is EMIs decision - we all know their somewhat poor financial state...and well, they grab every chance they get to make money on such band like roxette - who have meant sth to wide range of people and their name still does ring a bell.

Jesus all these people who keep going on about being ripped off can I make a BIG suggestion!
1) Walk in your house to where you keen your Roxette collection!!
2) Take out a single “The Look” whichever... now take a good look at that one you picked up!
3) Have good look through rest of collection, CD’s Tapes, Vinyl and count how many bloody copies you have of the one single! How many? more than 3 or 4 and why? because they came from different countries are on different formats! of course you have got to have the CD single, the 7” the 12” the limted edition from wherever! IT IS PART OF BEING A FAN!
4) Now just go through your own stuff and count how many copies you have of CD singles, albums etc... and then sit back and ask yourself if you do not agree on buying this UPDATED DVD, what posessed you in the first place to buy several copies of one 7”, 12” CD single... because your a fan, it is what we do!
So please enough of the moaning and groaning about the new UPDATED DVD... I for one am looking forward to it, something to add to my collection!
A new album is not possible at present you know in case some of you forgot Marie got sick and is taking some time out to recover and get well,
You know I have to say some of the comments on here about Roxette releasing stuff are really rude, some of you do not seem to give a shit about Marie, you just want her back in the recording studio making songs for you, your piggin selfish when you think like that!
Personally Per, (if your reading) I don’t care for new Roxette stuff, if it happens I will be very pleased but as far as I am concerned Marie is the one to make the final move and she will enter the studio again when she is good or ready! Be if it takes 2 years or 10 I am not bothered....

TBH, TPH and the updated-DVD are just moneymakers for emi. It´s a failure to release two Greatest hits and two DVD in such a small time.
And i hope roxette will release a complete new album in 2005-2006 that will be perfect (like Per wish it). And the break is in my opinion a good step for Roxette´s future.

If I look at my collection the only repeated singles I see are the ones my girlfriend and I had before we put our collections together, so now we have some 2x..., some of them she misssed and I had.. and other way round ;)
It’s like an author would release a book, then the same with 2 draft chapters, then the same with corrected stuff :S

I tend to disagree a bit about TBH and TPH. Okej, I admit, I was one of those suspicious ones about the releases at the beginning too, but then I got really happy. I mean, we got quite many new songs there including bonus EP, cool design, new pix etc. :) Recently I bought the same set - just special Taiwanese edition and i must say it looks and feels nice - like a nice highlight to close 89-2003 Roxette era. :)
But when it comes to DVD I am sure I will invest my money in all that has to do with Per’s future - DVD possible GT reunion, then the to-come Marie’s album...FIRST...forget the Rox DVD!

NO, being a fan has nothing to do with buying the same thing over and over, that’s what separates the obsessed fans and people that became collectors as a hobbie (collecting records instead of stamps) from the “cold minded” fans.

Not at all, in my case at least... and I bet it’s other peoples case too.
I´m not a “Rox fan” because there’s an emptyness I need to fill... or an emotional failure I need to fix.
I just happen to like Rox music better than other bands, and they’re only musicians that drive my attention as persons. For the rest of the bands in the world, I just enjoy their music.... inform myself about them and that’s it. So no, I wouldn’t be obsessing in another fan-forum.

Hypothetically ridiculous as that prospect may seem, if you didn’t have Roxette, someone else would be the top dog of your musical likings, and I think, yes, you would be in another forum. Someone’s gonna move your soul. Someone’s gonna get you interested in the minutia of their career. Again, no judgement there, just an observation.
If Roxette does that for you, hey! I’m right there too. I’ll still take this forum any day.
And my glib swipe at the end was meant to illustrate the point of the previous line “Be glad of what you have. Isn’t your word a better palce for it?”
I think you’ve answered that with a “yes”.

Why not add some more bonuses in this dvd? why can’t they add the look sharp live - which isn’t so long and would be nice to have it in great quality? Why not include some tracks from the unplugged? Of course they also have to update the cover AND the menu design - including spelling ;)
Thank god the other bands I like don’t come up with such stuff to “fill in the gap”. Unfortunately the one I would like to have remastered and rare songs from - Eva Dahlgren - doesn’t release such stuff!!

This is what most bands do. For example Queen which I am a great fan of. They have been releasing re-mastered albums and DVDs one after another this past year. They need to. Queen’s music will always live on for their fans but they need something to keep them there. ROxette too... If they are not recording anything at this moment, they need something to get going. PErsonally, I don’t care if they do another album, I will always remember Roxette for what they brought to my life when I was a teen. Right now, it ’s all about having all their albums. And no ally I do not have 3 copies of each because I live in Canada and not Europe!
And to those who want Marie back: It seems like you have never had anyone in your family with cancer. My grandma had cancer and died of it. Those who stay alive, need time to recover. Stop being selfish. She is a human being with a bad illness. It takes time to recover. How dumb must you be!

Roxette IS still ALIVE, even if taking a long break now - they did that before. What will it be like when they decide to split up definetely? Release a re-edition every month or???
I don’t want a new Rox album, neither in 2004 nor in 2005 until Marie WANTS to do it. I just want something else for the fans who have been there since 89 (or earlier) and thanks to them they have reached so far. Just something more than just 2 videos :)

I don’t think it’s a matter of recording anything. If they wanted to release something unreleased, there are things lying around. There are videos recorded from concerts and there are a lot of out-takes (Remember all those songs released as “bonus CD”?... well, I’m sure there are more like those...).
If they wanted to, they could release a real “Rarities” record (cuz the one they have it’s rare just because it was only released in certain “rare” countries, cuz the songs it includes are not so rare...), there’s no need to cheat the listeners just 1 year after that Greatest Hits trick they played on the fans...

A friend of mine likes Roxette - she just has the released CDs, some videos + that’s all. SHe bought TBH and when TPH came out she said she could put that CD together herself instead of spending 15€ on it (and she doesn’t mind about 4 new songs or not, she is not that “in need” of new stuff). And this will happen to the most. THere is not enough new fans as to buy another million albums, firstly cuz they are not promoted enough and secondly, cuz the “new generation of fans” won’t like Roxette at all. So the only they can live from is “old generation” (ppl who r 20-30 years old now), and I doubt each of them will want to have 10 million times the same song home ;)
As Santi says, there is stuff laying around that could be remastered, digitalized, stuff we don’t even know about, the only work behind it is put it together, have somebody to edit it and put it in a cd, sb to make a cover and that’s all. It would still be something *new* and they wouldn’t have had to move a finger at all.
Or simply wait until they can record something new, whenever it is.

Is it because Per is devoting his current efforts into his solo Swedish work? From an historical point of reference this is not the first time he has done this and then returned to Rox albums.
Or do you think this because Marie is currently recovering from her illness?
I don’t see anything that leads to me think this is the end of Rox? They have previously had a break of 5 years before returning back to Rox recordings.
Please explain your reasoning to us.
