Hey ally77!
MiracleMan said on September 7, 2003 23:11:
I see you’re bouncin’ around the forum this evening. It must be rather late where you are, jonesin’ for Mazarin. Anything exciting to report?
MiracleMan said on September 7, 2003 23:22:
Don’t you have your own, Den? If not then, I should think it’s time someone jumped on your bandwagon too. Although I think I found one for you not too long ago. . .
As I wrote in the ever disappearing Birthday thread, Ms. 77 and I share the same birthday and thus produced an immediate warming of the cockles of my heart. That and I was watching her threads pop up all over the place as I was bouncing around too. Hard to miss a girl like that.
Denstandigaresan said on September 7, 2003 23:27:
Yeah, I have my own thread... *Gushes*
So come on then... who are you?!
*Apart from having a nickname from an X-files episode*
ally77 said on September 7, 2003 23:34:
Hej! great we share the same birthday... and your a twin must be cool....
MiracleMan said on September 7, 2003 23:36:
Ah well, I got the name from The Look, actually. Since I was in a Roxforum, I thought it would be appropriate. . .
I’m a graphic designer in the middle of the US, Missouri, to be exact. Been a fan since I bought The Look oooooooh sooooo long ago after Dangerous was released. Too irresistable, that ditty.
MiracleMan said on September 7, 2003 23:40:
My twin looks nothing like me at all. He’s about 6 inches shorter and looks like my oldest brother, who favors my mother’s side of the family. If you lined my six siblings up with me and arranged them correctly, there is a progression that shows we are related. Surely more than anyone wants to know. :)
He is cool, an artist like me. Much more reserved than I am, that’s to be sure. He may be older but I’m definatly the dominant twin.
MiracleMan said on September 7, 2003 23:44:
BTW—what time is it there. I’m guessing with about eight hours difference—bear with it, math is not my thing—4am?
Child, shouldn’t you be sawing logs? Denstandiga too.
Denstandigaresan said on September 8, 2003 11:10:
Ahhhh, now I never picked up on that! Roxette song also... of course! D’oh!
Well, if it was 4 am here... I was in bed! *Yawn*
MiracleMan said on September 8, 2003 15:50:
At the time I was on it was 6:30p.m. Central, 7:30 Eastern, and we were conversing at pretty much the same time, I assume, because you were responding fairly quickly. 2am, then?
I know there’s at least a six hour difference between the zones (at least the east coast) and the UK. I think I remember it being 8hrs difference from when I was in Amsterdam. . . is that a different time zone?
But hey—I told you math was not my thing. It’s the artist in me. I try and try, but it repeatedly demonstrates that Math is not my friend. What do I know?
And as far as the nickname, I assumed the name choice was either pretty geeky or barely clever. (Choosing an X-Files name would have been a whole different angle on fanatical interests—especially if it’s a minor character from some episode in the 6/7/8? year run.) I just wanted something a little out of the way for a handle.
ally77 said on September 8, 2003 16:58:
Nah when we where online here last night it was just after midnight, I got to bed around 1am!!
MiracleMan said on September 8, 2003 19:08:
That sounds much more sensible. Time zones, appearently, aren’t my friend either.
ally77 said on September 9, 2003 20:23:

MiracleMan said on September 11, 2003 19:21:
Ally—aren’t you due to go on holiday this weekend? Or am I mixing the details form other threads?
ally77 said on September 11, 2003 20:26:
Yes I am going to Wales on Saturday for a week, so no internet access unless I can find a cafe or something... very highly unlikey...
MiracleMan said on September 11, 2003 22:22:
Aren’t there places in Wales where they’ve just gotten electricity? Or was it telephone lines? I heard a report on National Public Radio at any rate and the moderator was as surprised as I was.
Either way, hope your holiday is a good one, and much not so like an episode of Survivor: Wales. :)
Denstandigaresan said on September 11, 2003 22:35:
I think it was they got mains electricity... they had generators before, so couldn’t run more than two things at once.
Where people like me waste electicity! I’ve got my TV on now, not even watching it.
ally77 said on September 12, 2003 04:40:

@ MMan Yep you where right as was Den.... the part of Wales I am going to has electric (thinks??) but it is like an older person place... you know over 60’s + so they don’t really do internet cafe’s... (**sniff sniff**) but decided to go shopping and by new mobile phone to keep my fingers busy... texting Den!!! (see she just cannot get rid off me!!)
ally77 said on September 12, 2003 20:06:

Denstandigaresan said on September 12, 2003 21:37:

*Throws mobile at wall*
MiracleMan said on September 12, 2003 21:51:
Goin’ to a Cottontop Penzione? Of course there’ll be no computers! You’ll be lucky to have an electric clock and not just a rooster.
Al least you’ll get lots of rest—naps in the morning and the afternoon and after dinner, straight to bed at 8:30 p.m. Up at the crack of dawn. . .
Take your knitting. Or crochet. You’ll have tea cozies for everyone when you get back. (Make mine with a picture of the Botticelli’s Birth of Venus.)
Have a great time, all the same. :)
ally77 said on September 13, 2003 07:03:
Nope.... I WILL BE BACK................. (oh shit someone mentioned rooster.... need to pack alarm clock, thanx for reminder!!) **runs upstairs to get**

I think I am having him, but I will go back tomorrow to make my mind up, very affection and small, I guess just what I was looking for...
ally77 said on September 28, 2003 13:56:
I got my dog.... he is a Jack Russell and he is 8 weeks old. He is a tri colour, black white with a little bit of brown on his face. He was born on 1st August and I am calling him Alfie!
MiracleMan said on September 29, 2003 04:14:
Congrats on the new baby. :) Alfie’s a fine name.
Enjoy the teething and the potty training.
(I’d make a joke about breast feeding, but that would be incredibly crass and completely tasteless.) ;)
(Besides, I really can’t think of one. . .) :S
ally77 said on September 30, 2003 10:37:

MiracleMan said on October 12, 2003 21:28:
After I finished grad school, I took the summer, half of it waiting to hear about a specific job, only to have nothing. Then my mother died September 10 and it sort of waylaid me for a few months. I took a job in a convenience store for four months of nightshifts (mopping the floor at three in the morning, muttering to myself, “I have a Masters Degree. . .”) Then I quit and took some classes which helped me get the fine (read that somewhat sarchastically) job I’ve had since then. I was a good thing, in the end. Gave me the technical edge I needed. Hope it does the same for you.
MiracleMan said on October 12, 2003 21:41:
Took forever for the page to load, but Alfie’s such a cutie. That face! How do you keep from eating him? Good choice.
ally77 said on October 13, 2003 06:58:
More like how does he not eat me! and those claws..... so long... he is off to the vet this morning for his 2nd jab and to get his claws cut!
ally77 said on October 14, 2003 07:32:

Looking forward to next week as I finally get my new floor done... whoo hoo no more tatty carpet thanx to Alfie nice new laminated flooring!! ;)
MiracleMan said on November 15, 2003 05:31:
Well, at least a mop is easier and quicker to use than scrubbing with carpet cleaner every day.
Too bad puppies aren’t like cats: show them the litterbox once and some sort of ancient instinct kicks in saying “Thus I shall poopeth here, and wizzeth thus in this same appointed, sandy acreage.”
Or something like that.
ally77 said on November 15, 2003 09:21:
Too true MM.... anyone know a good spell to turn alfie into a cat ;) !!
MiracleMan said on November 28, 2003 20:56:
Hey there. What ya up to? Got today off for Thanksgiving and I’ve eaten half a pumpkin pie since this morning. Still taking classes? Still mopping the floor?
Denstandigaresan said on November 29, 2003 00:35:
The very thought of Pumpkin Pie, turns my stomach. Dunno why, never tried it!
I remembered to wish my american pen pal, Happy Thanksgiving in the evening. She was away for it, but since i’ve known her, 10 years or so now, i’ve said it... this year, I’m slacking!
Wish we had things like that. Even if we just used it as an excuse to be nice to one another once in a while.
MiracleMan said on November 29, 2003 04:12:
Ooooooooo, but it’s so good *no more pie today, no more pie today. . .*
I’ll confess that I buy a brand called Mrs. Smith’s Custard Pumpkin Pie. You bake it for about 70 minutes and there’s heaven right there in a flaky crust just waiting for the whip topping once it’s cooled. *no more pie today. . .*
ally77 said on November 29, 2003 08:59:
Hello! still here... nah Alfie is almost trained just little accidents in the night!! or if I am out!!! bless him... just gotta get him through the chewing stage now!!! 3 PAIRS OF SLIPPERS in 9 weeks!! once the teeth come though that should stop... just hope I can stay sane for that long ;)
Stuck in all day waiting for what I hope two hunky men to come and fit my new boiler!!! ;) well a girl can wish!!! a Per lookalike would go down a treat!!
Let’s hope the postman brings my DVD today before I am dead of bordem!!!
MiracleMan said on November 29, 2003 19:03:
Do dogs EVER stop chewing?
I got my copy of the DVD yesterday (Ordered it from Amazon Canada Wednesday and was shocked to get it so quickly) and I’m about Roxed out. I think the second doccumentary put me over the edge, mostly due to the fact that the sound lags behind the picture about a second. Really annoying. Not that I haven’t watched a few of the videos again today. . .
ally77 said on November 30, 2003 12:37:
Not this one... I am just waiting for him to start chewing the christmas lights!!
MiracleMan said on November 30, 2003 17:33:
That’s be a shocking Christmas event. I there a vet close by?
I used to worry that my cat, Roxane, would climb the Christas tree, (we had cats that sis that when I was growing up) but all she does is sit under it like a present. A loud, purring, up to mischief present. My biggest problem is keeping her from eating the tinsel. Just when I think she’s left it alone, I spy evidence to the contrary when I’m changing the litterbox.
ally77 said on December 2, 2003 21:55:
Aww he can sit, lie down, roll over... and chew anything within reach... becoming one cute little pup!!
ally77 said on December 12, 2003 20:51:
Yep I am still around.... not sure for how much longer... ;)
Alfie has lost 3 teeth!! bless him perhaps now he’ll calm down on the chewing!!
ally77 said on December 13, 2003 09:24:
I’ll have a job, he ate them and if you think I am searching through you know what to find one, you have another thing coming.. besides I’ll runined my nails!! **sarcastic sign**

If you don’t like what I post.. your quite welcome not to read the topics I start.. it was not aimed at you anyway.. so back out of it...
ally77 said on January 22, 2004 19:30:
Okay, I am not going to bother posting here again as finding it a little worse for wear and ever so picky, picky....
I am a big TDR person who has been contributing for over 12 months to posts on here. But I seem to always get the impression that someone starts a topic whether it is Roxette related or Off Topic, if that topic starter cannot take other people’s comments they have a go at them, and when someone retaliates and has a go back, they say THEY are being cristised. Seems that is all that goes on around here anymore. Where’s the fun gone? Just browse back to post over say 8 months ago, they where funny, they gave laughs and people answered back with witty comments!
Fair enough as people are aware I speak my mind, it is how I was brought up and I certainly have never gone back on what I have said here or at other forums. Neither do I delete my posts after I have posted something that may have offended someone else. I post what is on my mind, seems others do this then have regrets about posting it, so they go and delete it, I can’t be doing with that!
If people are so sensitive to what is posted or take things the wrong way, them they need to have a good look at themselves as I find people like that too hung up on stuff!
I do apologise if my posts have offended people, but tough S*** if you don’t like what I have posted don’t read it… simple as that!
From now on I’ll ditch this place for the foreseeable future and stick to the forums I have fun at where people don’t take posts the wrong way and can take simple criticism without thinking they are being picked on.
I am just an honest person and I post what is in my mind, I have no regrets about anything I have posted here in all my time at TDR, if it offends other, them tough, not my problem! I just love to argue back with people, I guess it is the half scouse personality I have in me!
There are some great people here on TDR, some of there posts crack me up in fits of laughter. They know who they are, they the ones that get the witty answers back! Keep it up guys… you keep this forum going! Maybe I’ll see some of you around!
Edit....
BallS to it, I can’t stay away I like this place... not gonna let some loser freak drive me away ;)
Denstandigaresan said on January 22, 2004 20:31:
Yup, I agree with that.*OOOPS, did I say the wrong thing there?*
A lot of ’skipping through posts’ goes on here. People take one comment, and run with it! Not bothering to take note of the far worse ones before.
Don’t leave, if people can’t hack criticism, maybe they should go to a less busy forum.
We’re always gonna have clashes on here, it’s got a lot of users, all with totally differing opinions... but yep, the tip of the day is, if you can’t take criticism...!
I used to take it to heart, but now... sod it!

ally77 said on November 22, 2006 22:18:
Because of the amount of people asking me via email this topic seemed the most sensible place to add my comments.
I asked for my account to be deleted here at TDR there are several reasons as to why… some I’ll mention others I won’t….
Yes the song sharing in September and the TWO phone calls from Lars didn’t help… several people here on this forum where singled out for song sharing and using TDR as a place to share songs when if anything it was the complete opposite. Certain songs where being shared two days on TDR before myself and others who where contacted by Lars even got our hands on them!
Then came the article I wrote and submitted about the fanclub.
It was published at TDR stating that it was Written by Lars when it was not. I wrote that article, yes it was slightly edited as most things are that are submitted at TDR! (and I mean slightly) and yes I still have the original copy.
Some people might not bother about this, but since this is an online newspaper asking for users to submit news and articles I find it rather ignorant that when people make the effort to do something someone else decides to take the credit for it.
As I said that’s just a few reasons. I’ve emailed Lars to ask for my account to be deleted but it would seem he’s away right now, so for anyone reading this moderators, Visa whoever, if you can delete this account then please do so ASAP.
TDR can be rather addictive to use… and for me it’s better to have the account removed permanently (anyone that really knows me would understand why…)
If people want to stay in touch then they can, most people know where to contact me!
