Swedish course in Växjö for Roxette-Fans

Every year there is a course to learn Swedish in Växjö. This course is runned by a woman who comes from Germany living in Sweden since 10 years, I think.

The course is really great. I’ve been there for the 2nd time this year. Last year for one week and this year two weeks. And I learned so much!!!

Swedish lessons are from 08:45 till 12:30. In the noons there are teamwork and other activities. But of course all in Swedish.

It takes place in a so called “folkhögskola” where the “students” live. There is a lake not far away. The food is also fantastic.

The price for one week (room, food and Swedish lessons) is about 600,00 Euro. It depends on the number of people joining the course.

Since there were a few Roxette-fans in that course, Sabine (the woman who runs it) and I had the idea to make a Swedsih course only for
Roxette-Fans. I think that would be great fun!!!

To prepare such a course Sabine has to know how big the interest is.

That’s why I ask all who are interested to send an eMail to me: [email protected]

Note:
It’s not me who is responsible for the course. I just help Sabine to get in contact with interested Fans. All details are up to her!!!

It is cheaper to buy a book!

...and easier to teach yourself mistakes...

I found my course this summer very interesting and it was also a good improvement for my pronunciation. :)

They have a class “Swedish Pop Music” where Roxette and GT are also covered, among others.

And who’s gonna help me pay for the flight over? I’ll stay here thanks

well as always.. complaints! ;)

This guy is only letting you know about this course, it is of course understood that you have to get to Sweden AND pay the course!

So I guess this is targetted to those who already wanted to go and do a Swedish course in Sweden AND who are Rox fans.. that’s why he wants to know who would be interested. Those who prefer books or can’t go to Sverige (like me) .. oh well...

In any case, I think that you cannot learn a language for real until you have lived in the language’s country for a while. I had learnt German through books + some courses at my homeland but it wasn’t till i moved to Vienna when I learned the *real* (Austrian) German ;)

The books don’t teach you the current “in” sentences or expressions, street language, etc etc (even if you can get a list of slang, most of the times it’s not up-to-date ;))

Good luck with the course! :D

You can also download movies and listen to the radio. Use the internet, it’s very useful :D
The movies have that “up-to-date” slang, depending on the subject of it. Anyway I doubt and I hope that noone wants to speak Swedish like they do in the movie “Sökarna”. :s

@ Judith.... I agree the best way to learn a language is too live in the country for a while.... look at Santi worked for him!

I am planning on doing that hopefully in 2004!
