I hope i’m wrong on this one but i think that Roxette may do one more album, but after that i think it’s could be over, Per is doing great solo, Marie is writing for her self (?) and they both have children.
I think we will see a lot more of their solo sides in the future, but Roxette might be a thing of the past soon, I just hope i’m really wrong. ;)

no-one knows how long roxette will exist. there are NO facts at all. i really wonder why this topic appears again and again. i mean there are still no facts and just because per gessle is doing a solo tour...
i believe more in facts, and fact is that there’s no facts at all about the future of roxette...

Didn’t we already establish that the reason why Per is doing a solo record is because Roxette is currently put on hold for the rest of the year? Personally, I don’t think Roxette will ever officially “split.” I think as they get older, however, they may record less but never call it quits. I’m sure there will be more solo records coming from both of them along with more releases as a duo.

Actually, Per said in an interview (several times) that this solo-project was more or less planned after the RS-tour. The same goes for Marie, but because this horrible thing happened, her solo-project (plans) were changed/cancelled.
So, they already had planned a sort of Roxette-pause/break. I’m sure Roxette will be back. It mostly (/ all) depends on how Marie feels.

Roxette will never split, they will have breaks , they is no need to ’split’ just let them do something else. plus they have to hang till 2006 it would be cool 20 years at the top :)

re-release cbb / live ism and the rs tour on dvd
have at least a farewel tour
then for the next 5 years release their albums as complete recording sessions like the cranberries did with all the songs recorded during wach album session

Didn’t they say earlier this year that the next roxette-album could be taking 4 years. That is 2007.
so Roxette will exist longer than 2005!

20 years are more than most bands have seen.
I’m OK with that. Look at Pink Floyd, Doors, Led Zeppelin...
The best bands are most remembered when they are gone.
Roxette will sell twice the amount of albums after 2007.

I think some of you must realize cancer is not like the flu - the treatment and recovery process is incredibly long - maybe we should give Marie some time to recover, let Per do solo stuff to pass the time and then, when both are healthy and rested, maybe there will be new Roxette music.

I’m looking forward more into 2006 with Spiderman 3 and X-Men 3 coming out.

Do I have to say more? Per already commented how the Mazarin experience would add new spice to the next roxette album!
My guess: Per will start working on roxsongs right after the tour. In winter Marie joins him in the studio, meanwhile she releases her new soloalbum. The summer break brings up a Gyllene tour and finally a brillant new rox album is ready in late 2004!

The thing is, Per’s and Marie’s solo-projects are much more successful (and they are of higher quality, too) - at least in Sweden, but then again Roxette doesn’t really matter outside of Sweden anymore. So, even if they don’t split up offically, I doubt there will be many more records to come.

Rumours of a split always had been around in every single year of Roxette’s existence... and each time the fans and media had so many good reasons for a split... I think Roxette is never gonna split... it is not unusual for Roxette to have a 3 year brake at times, and even through those times each of them released lots of their own stuff...

per and marie have been making music together for 2 decades now, and you cant just stop doing that. i think per has even said that himself.
YES - roxette will have breaks such as these (unfortunately we know why this break has been so... well you know) but like someone said they have had breaks before and come back.
as long as Per and Marie are great friends i believe they will continue to make music together, you cant just stop something you’ve done almost all your professional life!.... the only thing IMHO that could and WOULD stop them ever recording together again would be if they have a serious blow-out and vow never to work with each other again.
*ROXETTE* cant just die... they (per and marie) have gone through far too much together to just give it up. if they can get through something like this (marie’s cancer) and having families (face it, they’ve had families for 10 years now - YES they have had breaks [understandably] but they have always bounced back) then they can get though anything.

i think the only reason this has come up is because Per’s tour is so successful and fans fear that he will totally abandon roxette for his own solo success...
i dont think he will do that, he is tooo down to earth for that (i think)
he KNOWS that Roxette is the reason he has international fame... he wouldnt just ditch that.

...and if solo stuff was gonna mean the end of roxette.... i’d like to think that the fans would be happy with what Roxette have given us throughout the many many years, and that they would respect the decisions made by Per and Marie... and let them do what they wanna do.

Gyllene Tider split many many years ago, still they went on tour in 96, and now again next year probably, so.... theres no sayin that IF roxete split that will be the total end.... its clearly not their style ;)

Maybe the albums will be more less and maybe they won’t go on tour again and do a little more less promotion. But I don’t think, that they will stop their “Baby Roxette”. I also think, that there will never be an official press conference where they’ll tell “Roxette aren’t anymore”. Like Take That or other bands did that in past. When they will end some time, they’ll do it quietly and without many trouble.
