Super excited so I had to share...
Last night I was at the Heart (yes as in Ann and Nancy Wilson - “All I wann do is make love to you”) concert and I have to say that was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
Ann’s voice is still AMAZING!!! And Nancy just goes WIIIILD on guitar. They did some of the classics - Dog and butterfly, These Dreams, Barracuda, Alone, Magic Man, Straight On, Witch, and some things from their new album which is just going to ROCK. I think my fav part was when they started playing a song from their Brigade album called “Wild Child”.... GREAT concert. And it was at a small venue so we were really close up!
Go see them if you have a chance!! :)

@Jackie:
Oooh, have you ever heard the Heart live/acoustic album? Oooh, so damn good. They actually improve on All I Wanna Do...

@Jackie - I saw Heart a couple of weeks ago - excellent concert. It was also a small venue, so it had a fun, comfortable feel to it - I agree - they rocked!!!

I knew about the other two being covers. I do agree they should be a bit more verbal about it. But then again, most people don’t really care or know. For instance when Ugly Kid Joe did “Cats...” I was getting bitched at by everyone that didn’t know it was a remake... *shrugs*
Unfortunately... And I am trying to remember,.. Hmm No Desire Walks On song were played. I’d figure they would AT LEAST do “Will you be there...”
Brigade was very commercial. “All I wanna do...”, “Secret”, “Stranded” nice CD though!
They also did I believe an AC/DC cover and because it is their tour manager’s b-day they did the and I never remember the nameof this sucker “They say it’s your birth day..... It’s my birthday too”. Because Ann and Nancy didn’t want to play the regular boring birthday song. LOL!! Anyway... it was great!
I wasn’t at their Acoustic concert nor do I have the album, but I did catch it on i think Disney and it was suuuuuuuper cool.

Yeah, I agree about the 80s covers aspect, when I almost met Nancy at her solo acoustic show, I almost asked her about it. She took too long to come out from backstage at the Bottom Line. I agree about no one caring, and it really sucks!!
I just got in a trade that new 2CD “Alive In Seattle” and it is AWESOME!!! Hits, faves, covers and new songs, what could be better?? And a DVD coming as well...
Yeah, Brigade was a bit TOO commercial in it’s greasy slickness, but what saves it are the songs themselves, which are well-crafted, if a bit too polished and commercial, yet shy of being corporate crap. They got close to the line, but didn’t cross it, thank goodness...their cover of “Wild Child” rocks though...and I do love “Secret”, gorgeous melody...
That song is “Birthday” by the Beatles, from the White album, it’s a classic and fitting for Heart to cover!! And on AIS, they do some AMAZING covers, one being Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog”!! They say Heart is the female Led Zeppelin, and I totally agree; you can really hear it on this cover!! The band rocks hard like Led Zep and Ann sounds JUST LIKE Robert Plant!!! I had to shake my head, just to believe I was listening to Heart, not Zeppelin!!!
Heart rocks, and I can’t WAIT for their next studio album!! The 4 new songs on AIS sound amazing!!

hey larry i saw led zeppelin in vancouver 75 wow they blew me away but of cause i was high on weed at the time
Jackie_Radiorox said on June 30, 2003 16:52:
Fun part is that for some reason everytime I go to a concert there is always someone sitting either next to, in front of or in back of my buddy and I smoking weed LOL!
No need to bring your own!
Shane said on June 30, 2003 19:52:
I know I am naive, but could someone please explain how smoking weed enhances the concert-going experience?
I always thought it (weed) dulled the senses, but people smoke it at every concert I have attended (well - except the Three Tenors - do not recall smelling it at that concert).
I am not preaching or complaining - just curious. Thank you.

Generally it makes you mellow and lose and depending on the person, really happy. Other people it makes silly and other people... well you want to get away from them quickly. :P It tends to enhance (not nessisarly in a good way) your sense of taste, seeing, feeling etc.
For some people just smelling it is enough (though smell it all concert long and you’ll send up getting out of there with a headache).
Me, I’ve tried it a few times. Depending on the stuff it does either nothing for me or just gets me more goofy than I normaly am.... It has for me the effects of alcohol minus the hangover and icky feeling when you drink too much.

yea jacky your discription about wakky/bakky is about right but it all depends on what music you are listening to at that moment and led zeppelin was hard at the time

Thank you Jackie - I have often wondered about that.
Derek - glad you concur with Jackie’s comments! :D

its pretty lame when peopel have to go get high just to enjoy simple things in life like a concert. I went to a cranberries concert and left oncew cause so many peopel were smoking pot it made me sick to my stomach
derek said on July 13, 2003 13:22:
@coyboyusa why are you so negative i havnt smoked pot for over 20 yrs when i was young and traveling through canada and america i come in contact with all sorts of people and you are only young once so i tried everything and i have no regrets .and at many concerts people are smoking dope. so what if you get high. fine .and if not then just enjoy the the music in your own way and if the smoke is to strong for you then move to another seat mind you i couldnt take it now like i use to and i dont need any drugs to enjoy myself .lliving is the only drug you need

They are great, Heart, but I want to clear sopmething up here, “Wild Child” is a COVER SONG!!! It’s originally by a UK band called ROMEO’S DAUGHTER. I have their 1 album, self-titled, from 1988, released on Jive (yeah, the Britney Spears/BSB/N’Sync Jive), and their version is just as cool as Heart’s 1990 remake.
Other covers Heart has done: 2 Lisa Dalbello songs: “Wait For An Answer” (from “Bad Animals”) and “Black On Black” (from “Desire Walks On”).
I don’t MIND that Heart has done covers, but the fact is they don’t acknowledge those songs are covers and people think they are either Heart ORIGINALS or just from an outside writer(s)...this should be corrected, dontcha think Jackie??
Heart rocks though...
