Was it Roxette?...

that made you a pop fan?
Or was there some other artists/bands you digged before you found Rox‘s music?

Storm, I’ve always been a powerpop nut, and I’ve always loved Roxette, always been A favourite of mine since 1989, but it was only recently that I realized they were my absolute favourite artist/band out right now.
I love tons of other bands/artists like the Beatles, Cheap Trick, the Byrds, a-ha, Letters To Cleo, the Wildhearts, and tons more...

I was already a big music fan in the early 80s (I hadn’t even started kindergarten yet :) ), but Roxette were the ones that made me want to play music...and it happened. :)

No,
I did and still do like other music too.
But since 1988 or 1989 they are my favourites.

I always liked music and still do. Roxette accompanied me from 1989 and from Joyride times it is my number ONE. I started learning how to play guitar and piano but first I learned to speak English and it’s all because of ROXETTE. I can easily say that they made who I am now and I like it;))))))

I think it was Roxette that got me started on liking music in general... but since I was entering my teens at the same time they hit it big, I probably have gotten into music anyway... I remember my parents gave me the choice of getting any album I wanted for my 13th birthday, and I chose Kick by INXS– a brilliant album, but in the end it was Roxette’s Look Sharp! that got me hooked.

No, but I did not know Roxette before 1994 (not consciously anyway). And I was startled to experience how many actually hated this swedish band. That has changed, I supposed. Nowadays Roxette’s major problem is more like simple disinterest by the public.

A _pop_ fan?
I always thought, Roxette offered much wider experience than just pop music (due to features of their unique style). Personally, I listen to Bon Jovi, Corrs and other close-to-roxette music, but still I tend to listen to brighter music - from Tangerine Dream to Nightwish, etc.
Getting back to the original question - it was nobody, who made me a pop fan, ’cause I’m not; and it was probably Roxette that taught me to like and respect all kinds of music.

YES! I have always listened to music as far back as I can remember. I used to have a little digital clock radio and it was on all the time! The song that really did it was Dangerous, before that I didnt take much notice of The Look and DFS ..can you believe it! (Don’t get me wrong I love these songs too)
Another band that got me interested in music was Starship, I was too young to remember them really, but I was given their tape when I was 11, I think.
Does anybody remember them ...”We built this city on rock n’ roll’ and ’Nothings gonna stop us now’
Anybody?
Hmmm ...maybe I am showing my age.

Yes, it absolutely was Roxette that got me into music in the first place. My friend gave me ’Look Sharp!’ coz he didn’t like it, and I’ve been hooked ever since! :)

Actually Rick Astley was my first favourite singer. In those days I just watched TV musical programs to watch his videos, and I didn’t listen to the radio often. However, since first day I listened to The Look I became a real music fan. I turned the radio on just waiting to listen to that perfect song, and when I watched the video... I loved them!
I even began to make my own charts, and I still do, just to put Roxette in first place a lot of weeks ;-)
Now, music is a very important part of my life, and I feel Roxette like part of my family.

My first favourite was “Major Tom” by Peter Schilling. I was five or so, but I still like this song today.
My first favourite group became Queen, after I saw the Highlander-Movie, but this was much later in the early nineties.

I´ve always loved music, but Roxette was my first (and still biggest) favourite-band. It all started when I bought “Don´t bore us...” in 1995. Since then I´ve been looking for everything related to Roxette (Gyllene Tider, Solo-material etc.) And this summer I saw Per Gessle live for the very first time, a memory for life.. And I really hope to see both GT and Roxette live in the near future. A life without their music would be awful!
