Inter racial relationships

Hi guys, I am doing an article on interracial relationships...and I need some input from you.
I’d like to know the social response in your country to people of different backgrounds getting together...do people stop to look at you in the street? is it something unthinkable? etc
also if you are/were in one, I would be glad to know what you went thru if possible. I don’t need specific details, but things like parents’, friends’ reactions etc.
Thanks!!!

A good friend of mine (“white”), married to someone from Suriname (“black”).
But it’s no big deal for me or anybody around me.
I guess all dutch people think it is normal.

HarrieJ, Thanks for your input. But what does the Surinamese community think about it? when I told someone here I had a dutch bf, they raised their eyebrows and said “*really*??”
:P

Someone with mediterranean background (Latin, not latin-american... but European) and someone with germanic background is different enough for your study?
