I found TPH among others here In NZ

I managed to find The Pop Hits at the warehouse of all places for $29.95 - Not with E.P :-(
Also Salvation CD Single including Stars Video $2.09
Real Sugar CD Single with The Centre Of The Heart Video $2.09
But even more of shock was finding “Roxette Live Unlicensed” second hand at Echo Records a couple of weeks ago.
I was wondering if any other New Zealanders here have found some interesting CD’s over the years that you wouldn’t expect to see here, especially as they are never on radio or TV here.
cheers :-)

yeah The Warehouse lol, I couldn’t believe it either.
I’ll have to check some of the other stores to just in case. :-)
antz said on May 31, 2003 11:27:
@Scoll: How long ago did you find the salvation & real sugar singles?
I have seen TBH (not ltd edition) at The Warehouse.
I have always found that Roxette albums just mysteriously turn up at cd stores around town (Wellington). I bought TPH, TBH, RS and HAND from Sounds music stores they even have the DVD.
I was quite surprised this time they actualy had TPH on display in the new release section, they had 3 ltd editions.
I once found a whole lot of cassingles at Cash Converters (IMHBL, joyride, SMT, SIMC, AU, CBB) that was a great day!
Its good to know there is more than 1 roxette fan in NZ!

:O ... I’ve never seen a single later than June Afternoon here. You lot have good eyes!
karmakillernz said on June 1, 2003 04:23:
Yea I havn’t seen any new singles, but I’ve seen quite a few old ones (I even found The Look Maxi Single).. That was a good day :)
Scoll said on June 1, 2003 09:14:
I found the 2 CD singles on saturday just gone, I cleared the wharehouse right out :-)
But I would like the limited edition TPH too so it’s good to hear that its also here, I managed to get the E.P. of TBH at echo records a while ago, also the DVD.
I also have:
Queen of rain (Cassette Single)
Church of your heart (Cassette Single)
Almost unreal (Cassette & CD Single)
How do you do! (Cassette Single)
Crash boom bang (CD Single)
Sleeping In My Car (CD Single)
Joyride LP (now as a clock on the wall - never been played )
I found those many years ago when roxette was more popular. Hell I can even remember finding interviews or articles about them in music magazines. But not these days.
Also:
Roxette Look Sharp Live (VHS)
Roxette The Videos (VHS)
Roxette Live-ism (VHS)
Roxette’s greatest video hits (VHS)
I got those videos tapes through some fan mailing club based here in new zealand even have the post cards & calenders. but after a while they never had any more roxette. Just T-shirts, calenders, keyrings you name it on every other artist but roxette.

I found TPH at Echo with the EP. :)
The singles I’ve managed to get over the years:
The Look (12” LP) (2 b-sides)
How Do You Do! (3 b-sides)
Sleeping In My Car (2 b-sides)
Crash! Boom! Bang! (only 1 b-side)
You Don’t Understand Me (2 b-sides)
June Afternoon (2 b-sides)
I’ve also been lucky enough to find the Tourism double-LP. A great collector’s item, seeing as it has extra pics in it. ;)

I’ve never heard of Echo stores. Do you guys have Sounds music stores in your area?
My most prized roxette items are my Look Sharp vinyl LP and joyride magic friend mix 12” LP. I found both of these in a 2nd hand music store.
Occasionally I buy a few cds from ebay. But I have to restrain myself, otherwise I end up having panic attacks when the credit card bill arrives. Have you guys bought anything from ebay?
ditroia said on June 3, 2003 03:34:
Ebay Rox. It’s where I buy most of my stuff.
Dave
P.S. Recent Ebay Aquisitions For this Fortnight:

I’ve never bought anything yet over the internet, infact I don’t even own a credit card. just as well cause I wouldn’t be able restrain myself :-))
kiwijazza said on June 3, 2003 21:14:
I have something in common. I’m in CHCH too, and have no credit card. Hehehe.

I know this is a little off the original topic, but I just wanted to keep this NZ thread going...
Has anybody seen J2 music channel lately? On one of their promo ads they show a clip of Listen to your Heart (along with other artists clips) Cool ay!
But I’ve never seen then play a Roxette clip yet :(
karmakillernz said on June 4, 2003 04:46:
@ Scoll: I don’t have a credit card which is why I like RealGroovy (www.realgroovy.co.nz) - you can order online and send a cheque off :)
@ antz: I have seen that also. They’ve played IMHBV and LTYH and one other (I actually forgot what that other one was.. pretty bad eh? :) )

@ Scoll: Yea as most of the Roxette and related cds are imports they’re quite expensive :( But at least they’re available :)
Scoll said on June 5, 2003 08:58:
Yeah true it’s better than nothing, I guess when you have all Per & Maries albums in mp3 ya kinda think well whats the point, I have 41 cdr’s of roxette related albums and videos. mp3’s do have a downside I think. Theres nothing better than the real thing, a plain looking cdr compared the real thing with the booklet and so on. I can remember when I heard a new roxette song On TV years ago before mp3’s where around and couldn’t wait to get my hands on there new album and when I did, I’d play it over and over. Or about 10 years ago when I bought Roxette The Videos on VHS and I hadn’t really seen them before, only in magazines, it was exciting. Or maybe I’m just getting older and not like some 16 year old anymore. But still I think mp3’s and mpgs or avi’s have ruined things in away. Yet I still download them. My excuse was well I can’t get these albums here in NZ but it seems to have changed now. Even if they are a little on the high side.
karmakillernz said on June 5, 2003 23:14:
Yea but see I wouldn’t be happy with that... I’m very anal about sound quality... :P I can’t listen to MP3s anymore, unless I absolutly have to. So I really have no choice in getting the album :(
On a side note, the greatest thing I got from RealGroovy is the Marie Fredriksson 6 CD box set. It cost $179 but it was sooo worth it. It’s not listed anymore though :(

The Warehouse??? Why do I find that funny :) I’ve had to get all my cds from RealGroovy (around 80% of my collection is from there). It’s great to look around their second hand singles etc.. I’ve found about 5-6 roxette singles that way. Where did you find the Salvation and RS singles??? The Warehouse too?
