Leave EMI?

I’ve read time and again that EMI is a problem, that they will not support Roxette like they do other groups (such as actually promoting albums and singles - i.e. paying radio stations to play them).
And now instead of an album of newish material we get two compilations that are hard to get hold of with that newish material.
Why do Roxette stay with EMI?

The thing is.....EMI Sweden have always been very good to them......also EMI Germany they’ve not had much a problem with them either.
Its the rest of the world thats started going all crappy. ;)
EMI USA first (who went bust anyway) then UK followed suit.....and now everyone is jumping on the wagon. ;)
So in Roxette’s eyes......EMI (Svenska) is still doing a good job.

Oh OK, and not only that, Per + Marie OWN the rights to their master recordings; they just LICENSE them to EMI Svenska, and from there, EMI/Capitol affiliates the world over follow suit. Soooo, if EMI Svenska also go bad, they could leave unscathed....

I think that only applies to their later recordings which were released under Roxette’s own label (’Roxette recordings’). I not sure whether Per and Marie could do anything against EMI if EMI deleted Joyride or CBB.

All Per and Marie’s songs are owned by their own companies, e.g. Jimmy Fun Music, Music For Money and Roxette Recordings.
