Some of you might have been at the Roxette concert in Zürich on the 31st of October 2001. The support act was Martin Schenkel. A very talented actor and singer here in Switzerland. Unfortunately he died this week. He was only 34. He lost his fight against cancer. I remember, when we (fans) came out from the backstage area and he was just speaking to the crowd: “Here´s my camera. I have to record the whole show, because probably I´ll never be able to play again in front of such a big audience.” Afterwards he played a great rock version of “Big Big girl” from Emilia and the crowd went wild. He was such a positive guy and always made some jokes. Some people here were in a state of shock when they heard the news. Thanks for sharing your humor and your music with us! We won´t forget you!

It is really scary because he had a brain tumour some years ago, then he was healed and now he died... I’m really sorry for his wife and his son. Even my dad was shocked when he heard it, and he didn’t like Martin Schenkel at all.
Oh my, this brings all those terrible news about Marie up again... )-’:

Wow. Never heard of him before until now. However, he put up a good fight and lived his life the way he wanted to. That’s something that I think is fantastic.

Really sad news.
I hope his family can get through these difficult days.
