ON Video: NOT a big mistake

With Marie still recovering from her illness, it’s clear that a regular video was not possible to support this release, so for me, an animation was an obvious choice.
Having just viewed it for the first time, I’m delighted with it. It’s lively, fresh, funny, entertaining, colourful and interesting. I enjoyed it very much and even smilled a wry smile.
Congratulations Per & Marie for having the balls to attempt something new and bold. I’m certain the music video stations will play it a lot.
...Roxette have just grown up.

The style reminds me of The Beatle’s ’Yellow Submarie’. Lot’s of psychedelic colour and metaphor.

Ok, as i’m am typing this i have NOT seen the ON video, so I think i am save when I give my opinion. I know it’s a animated video, but what i would like to know is was this the ONLY thing they could have done? Marie does not feature that much in the song... Computer animtation perhaps? Roxette has NEVER used proper computer effects in there videos other than some elecric sparks here and there, animation was not the ONLY way they could have gone, I think if they had to give it thought then they would have realised that a computer animated Marie character (maybe in the form of a fairy or whatever) could have been used with a real life enviroment...so what i would like to ask you guys is: Did they really put a lot of effort into the making and choosing the medium or was the word anmation just an easy way to get home earlier?

Vix, Roxer was drawed by a *non* professional, and the person who has drawed Per (and Marie) on ON video is (supposed) to be one, so when I compare.. I like it better :P
Well, anyway, i like the idea, the animated video, the new thing bla bla, I just think that for once they do such a video, they could have spent a bit more and get a real good “animator”...but what to do, what’s done is done :)

i think it would have been a bit obviuos to use computer animation in “place” of marie in a vid dont you think? i mean who wants to look back at the video and remember oh yeah that was used coz marie was sick.
great idea, great video. at least not boring like some of roxette’s other older vids! everyone wants to make the same kind of vids these days...nice exception to the rule.

the video reminds me of the video by Teddybears Stockholm called “rock n’ roll highschool”. it’s the same idea, with the same cozy feeling (the teddybears video was based on nintendo 8bit console, from good old days)
the animations ARE NOT MENT to look perfect. i think its awesome! especially marie in that read outfit, and when per rises his eye browses :P
it totally kicks ass!

I’ve only seen the vid once and quite enjoyed it, i can’t make any sense of the video, but since when did a vid clip have to make sense! The only thing was the marie/per monster thing - just weird.
