Worst single ?
s-czopek said on February 4, 2003 00:38:
What, in your opinion, is Roxette’s worst single ?
I’s say “The Big L.”
rox-kuryliw said on February 4, 2003 01:04:
LOL funny , both kind off true another vote here aswell ,
i hate ’ chuch of your heart ’ so many better songs than that on joyride album .
s-czopek said on February 4, 2003 01:21:
It’s true that the Joyride album had more obvious singles than “The Big L.” and “Church of your Heart”.
“Knockin’ on every door” would have made a better follow up to “Fading Like A Flower” than “The Big L.” and “Perfect Day” would’ve been a finer final single than “Church of your Heart”.
marcusvandeursen said on February 4, 2003 01:27:
Anyone is a good song though, but not an ideal single so to speak
oshtay said on February 4, 2003 01:37:
Hard question this one.
I didn’t like Salvation and Vulnerable as much as the rest.
Am I the only one who liked The Big L??
As much as I liked Church of Your Heart, I would love to have seen Things Will Never Be The Same released as a final single from the album Joyride.
SkyDrum said on February 4, 2003 02:38:
I think that No se si es amor is a very bad song, as Vulnerable and The Big L. I’d really liked that in place of No se si es amor, El Dia Del Amor would have been released. In place of Vulnerable, Love Is All or Lies, and in place of The Big L, Things Will Never Be The Same or Excited. That’s my opinion. Cheers!

Real Sugar... they could’ve released better songs off that album.
roxtexanet said on February 4, 2003 03:24:
My first thought was, “Definitely ’The Big L.’...”... then somebody mentioned “Vulnerable”... (-;
Roxette-atic said on February 4, 2003 07:01:
Without a doubt... Anyone ( the main reason that HAND didnt sell 6 million, or something :)
clerk said on February 4, 2003 07:46:
Church of your heart...never really liked it...
followed by...suprise,suprise...Vulnerable...
Roxette-atic said on February 4, 2003 08:13:
I dont know why, but from 1994 til 2000 I was under the impression that “Vulnerable” was one of the favourite songs for the Rox die hard fans. Not that it was ever my favourite, but I was really wrong there...
pietROxette said on February 4, 2003 08:42:
Does everyone like Crash! Boom! Bang!? I think that’s the worst single...
imazombieinthem... said on February 4, 2003 10:09:
You Don’t Understand Me, and the video is even worse than Stars in my opinion. Vulnerable is one of my favorite songs, and the videoclip was made in Australia so it is one of my favorite videoclips :) Vulnerable is a lovely song!
onlywhenidream said on February 4, 2003 10:16:
I know that IMHBL was one of Roxette’s biggest singles I know that...but it is not one of my favourite songs at all! I would prefer Watercolours in the Rain or Thing Will Never...
Queen of Rain is one song that should have done a lot better than what it did...so beautiful.
IMHO
vaxjoe said on February 4, 2003 10:37:
pietro: cbb? :O r u serious?
and matt: cmon ,rox owe much to “imhbl”
i agree though that “things...” is a fantastic song, a perfect single and that “queen...” deserved better :)
vaxjoe said on February 4, 2003 10:59:
cbb boring? it has some of the best lyrics per ever wrote and music is awsome-also maries favourite live track
if u want boring look under “vulnerable” :p
animalkingdom said on February 4, 2003 11:09:
@ onlywhenidream
imhbl was released way before those two! what r u talking about?
Ramas said on February 4, 2003 11:16:
Hey, The Big L is super !!! It’s the song since which I became Roxette-addicted. The worst single - Fingertips/Queen Of Rain/Anyone. And of course Knocking On Every Door should have been single (there were plans to release it in US, but they fell appart)
RobS said on February 4, 2003 11:19:
@imazombieinthemoonlight: is that true that vulnerable was filmed in australia? i always thought it looked very oz. do you know where??
onlywhenidream said on February 4, 2003 11:25:
@ animal kingdom - I know IMHBL was released before them DUH! I was just saying that I prefer them to IMHBL
@ vaxjoe, I stated that I know Rox owe lots of their success to IMHBL!!!!! I just said that I don’t like it that much. I AM allowed to, you know.
vaxjoe said on February 4, 2003 11:35:
matt dont get ironic with me, i havent done anything to u ok?
onlywhenidream said on February 4, 2003 11:44:
I am not getting ironic, there is no irony in what I was saying - just that I am allowed to have my opinion - and I know you haven’t done anything to me sweetie...x
vaxjoe said on February 4, 2003 11:50:
ok lets forget it :) i never implied that u re not entitled to ur opinion on the contrary i support ur right even if i disagree....
i just meant that since we re discussin “wrong single choices” ITMHBL couldnt possibly be a wrong choice since its one of their biggest hits and lately been voted as swedens most popular song or something
xxx
onlywhenidream said on February 4, 2003 11:57:
no - I completely agree. It was agreat single choice for getting them to stardom - you’re right. I don’t really like it that much (maybe I have heard it too much!) I was just taking the title of the topic to mean what I consider the worst single...;)
hugs vaxjoe x
carbon_boy said on February 4, 2003 12:02:
I 1st thought I’d give this discussion a skip, but then again: i LOVE getting in2 a good fight! Hehehehe.....
My list: EVERYTHING from P.o.P, Queen of Rain, Run to You, Anyone, Stars, Real Sugar & MTH. My reason being that the trax I chose were the reasons why the album sales didnt climb after their release.
Oh, and erm, wtf?! The Big L?! What were you thinking 2 say its a BAD choice for a single?! At least it got loads of airplay! KOED wouldve been knocking till it’s knuckles went blue, cos no radiostation wouldve played it. Oh, and Fingertips?! Hello?! The remix was released as a single: which is f!ckin brilliant!!!
Let the games begin!!!!
Cheers
onlywhenidream said on February 4, 2003 12:10:
@ carbon boy - LOL! You have put a smile on my face! :)
marcusvandeursen said on February 4, 2003 12:14:
also thought Vulnerable was more popular, anyway it’s still on of my favs
JoyRidErno said on February 4, 2003 12:36:
Anyone is the worst!!! Sometimes I like it, but it should not have been released as single. (COY is a way better!)
And Real Sugar is not good song as single. Fool or MWMLML are better.
@Pietro: Also I think that C!B!B! is quite boring... But I like it (:
the_first_boy_o... said on February 4, 2003 14:55:
For me the worst single is Vulnerable. Don’t get me wrong is a nice song, but not for a single.
JupiterCalling said on February 4, 2003 16:54:
I agree with Twilight-Ghost, “Soul Deep” is by far the worst Roxette single ever! It is probably one of the worst Roxette songs of all time.
“Queen of Rain” would probably be a close second.
coyboyusa said on February 4, 2003 17:02:
the original soul deep
sleeping single
anyone...only because it wasn’t the time for such a great song
vulnerable
and a smuch as i love the song fingertips 93

Vulnerable and You don’t understand me
Stars is not far from the title anyway...
Vixzter said on February 4, 2003 17:25:
@imazombieinthemoonlight - Vulnerable is a nice song but it was a bloody awful single ;)
i_jera said on February 4, 2003 17:35:
Goodbye to you, of course! :D
and Almost Unreal... I don’t like that song at all.
I love You Don’t Understand Me & Vulnerable.... well, I think that Vulanerable wasn’t so good choice as single , but my favourite single-cover is for this CD, and I like the song a lot.
Nefatari said on February 4, 2003 20:41:
Stars is a gr8 song, just the vid is .. ridiculous :)))
I guess, the worst single - if we can call a Roxsong as a worst-song - was Vulnerable, but just because most of the people are not able to really “listen” to that song.
When I heard it at the radio, I couldn’t stand it. When I was in my bed, dark room, concentrating on that song, with all my thoughts and love, I could realize, that Vulnerable is a perfeckt song.
So, my final decission: I don’t know a worst Rox-single :)
Paul said on February 5, 2003 18:50:
You dont understand me sucks.
Thats the only bad single released.
The rest is great.

The song sounds like a demo.

@RobS Yes, Vulnerable was filmed in Australia. In Sydney on Bondi beach. It was on the news all over Australia about it being filmed here, I saw the story but never got to record it. Doesn’t Per just look like a tourist wearing those sandles around! :)
PerAndren said on February 6, 2003 21:04:
Hey Vulnerable is kinda beautiful!
centre of the heart
and
The Big L
powerpoplarry said on February 6, 2003 22:08:
Well, I love every song they have done together, but if I have to pick my least favourite, oooh this is tough, maybe “Church Of Your Heart”. Don’t get me wrong, I love the song, but compared to the others, it’s lacking...something...I don’t know.
I love “Vulnerable”, plus that’s Per’s first lead vocal on a ballad, so that’s a first. Not liking CBB is like blasphemy or something...gorgeous song!! I like YDUM a lot too.
Santi said on February 6, 2003 22:35:
