Have A Nice Day Singles

Don’t you think the singles from HAND were wrongly chosen ?
What would have been your choices ?
Here are mine :
First : Wish I Could Fly
Second : Stars
Third : Waiting For The Rain
Fourth : Crush On You (Remix)/Anyone (Double A Sided Single).
What do you think ?

Waiting For The Rain should’ve been huge ! I think it’s one of Roxette’s best ever song. Probably one of the most complex musically and it would have been nice to see a Marie written song released as a single.

i think
1 crush on you
2 wish i could fly
3 stars
4 anyone / waiting for the rain
5 salvation.

February 1999: Wish I Could Fly (obviously), simultaneously with the Spanish QUisiera Volar
April 1999: Stars
It’s Gonna Take A Long Long Time (as featured in Runaway Bride)
August 1999: Crush On You
November 1999: Salvation (nice tune around xmas time)

I think that Crush On You would have been a better choice than Salvation.
Waiting For The Rain - I Was So Lucky - Cooper - 7Twenty7 - Beautiful Things are others that I think stand-out, but are not quite the single release type.

I’m quite happy with the choice of singles from HAND. I would have, however, put out a 5th single. Maybe “Crush On You.” There’s a lot of fantastic material on that album. It would have been nice to have pulled 6 or 7 singles from it.

yeah HAND probably should have had a few more single releases -especially COY.
I remember reading in a mag (Q, i think) they had a review of the album and said it was a very commercial album with a huge possibility for singles - or something like that.
Seems EMI had different ideas :(
onlywhenidream said on February 4, 2003 11:48:
yeah, I remember that review it said that thie album had more potential hits on it than any album since modanna’s True Blue album.... it was a good review - let’s see if I can find it...
here we go:

Okay the link doesn’t work ... just go to the site (copy and paste the link) and then do a search for Roxette) *gasp*

Beatiful things and 727 for sure. I’m still listening to those two as much as ON.

I think this list could be great:)
Crush On You
Wish I Could Fly
727
Beautiful Things

Heres what I would have released if I could have done it the way I would do it....
1) Wish I Could Fly
2) Stars
3) Anyone/Salvation (double-A side)
4) Crush On You
5) Beautiful Things...
for BT, I would prefer to release a cleaned up properly produced version of the rockier demo that surfaced in 2002 as the single version... The album version is great to close the album, but that demo would be great as single I think. My friends agree :D

ok time to sound off on the whole hand singles debate
wicf was the perfect first single
if they had kept in line with their own thinking coy would have been a summer smash
salvation should have been third right around xmas simply because its an x mas ballad
on tour pay the price anyone as a double a side would have kicked ass

I wonder if they had released Crush On You and it was flop due to lack of promotion, how would you complain.....
Roxreporter said on February 10, 2003 13:28:
3 ballad singels out of 5, hmm???
“Pay the price” would have been nice. The only uptempo sound song on HAND without the ennoying beat.
