Chart positions:why to care?

Is there anybody who doesn´t care at all about chart positions,sales,etc....

I also don’t care THAT much now... But I still do a little. Charts, whether we like it or not, are important. If Rox (Per, Marie) don’t do well in the charts they won’t get any further record contracts and so there’ll be no more album released! Unless, of course, they do it all by themselves... but that’ll cost them a LOT of money and time... and if they see that almost no one buys their records (=> almost no one is interested) they’ll stop....

for me it is not that important either. I mean, I am a fan, 100% sure I will still be their fan in the nearest future, it is enough to know. I don’t care what the others choose to listen to etc.

Of course you don’t get anything solid if you see rox in the top-ten. That moments are always over too fast. But for sure it’s nice when they get huge media coverage and airplay!

i don’t care, but..... if only rox were top 40ish over here it would be great cuz then we might actually get tours

I don’t care neither... I use to I guess when I was a teenager (oh those where the days!!). Nowadays the UK market is rubbish and no matter what Roxette do it does not get any attention. I am however calling my local radion station to ask them to play ATAY for me!!

It would be nice if Roxette had more succes, because that would also mean we get to listen to Roxette more on radio.
And I guess it is for Per and Marie stimulating them to go on than when they do not have any success at all.
We, as Roxette-fans, know that Roxette is the best, but it would be nice if that would also be appreciated by other musiclisteners (and buyers).

If they need success to motivate themselves to make good music then f*ck them... i want a band wich makes music for the love of music.
In case some people don’t know... there are hundreds of great bands beyond the charts.... that never made it into a chart.... and still make great music and hundreds of records and TOUR the world. There is life beyond the mainstream you know.
But it doesn’t botter me if people “help them” to be in the charts.... in certain point i want them in the charts.... but just to get rid of the crap music that there is.
NinaP.... is natural to become smarter as you grow up.... :)))

Me neither, I rather concentrate on what I’m listening to:)
But it’s extremely pleasant to hear/see that Roxette’s music is appreciated by others:)

Charts doesn’t have anything to do with appreciation. Just to tell you, in Spain A Thing About You entered in “los 40 Principales” that is the most important chart list, in the votes on the internet it was the 4th more voted, more than “All the Things she said” by TATY. In the charts ATAY was number 23 but the following week it disappeared.
Charts is NOT appreciation, it’s business, DIRTY BUSINESS!!

the onyl time it bugs me is when i know a singel doesnt selll but it gets huge airplay ...its kinda evident thent hat web downloading is a culprit
Ferdan said on January 22, 2003 00:44:
.......
if an artist doesn’t sell well but gets big airplay it’s obviously ’cos the record company is involved in that.... (money in the right pockets)

Dear FERDAN,
It does´t bother me at all if people help Roxette to be a success;
I also think there are great bands around that will never sell tons of records (see Belle and sebastian for instance....)and be a worldwide success;
I don´t give a shit if Per needs to be successful to keep on making songs;
Shall we applause each other?Cheers

I’m addicted to chart positions… In Ireland, not sure about UK anymore – curious radioplays and bogus release dates, we don’t have any roxette so I need to know about how successful (or how unsuccessful) they are in other countries so I can actually keep in touch of the real Roxette fan base… Got a problem with that?
NinaP said on January 21, 2003 00:34:
I used to call ,vote ,ask for rox songs on the radio...now it may seem funny but i just don´t care about this at all...
It doesnt matter to me wether people will get to listen to rox´s new single...
All I care about now is getting to listen to good stuff from Mr.Gessle
