Erasure in US, and Roxette isnt??

Here is what I dont understand. Erasure is releasin a new album (of covers), and has a new single out in the US. They are touring. In fact, on March 7th, Erasure is playing at the Beacon Theatre in NYC. this is where I saw Roxette back in 1992!!!
Erasure is great. But their success is nothing compared to Roxette’s success. Even in the US! Erasure never even had a top 10 hit here. How is this possible? Per and Marie just need to bite the bullet, accept what is offered to them, and come to the US for their FANS.
You know, the more i read about this, the more I begin to think that Im sure Roxette can get a deal....and they just arent satisfied with it. But COME ON... if Erasure can do a full length month tour of the US, Roxette CERTAINLY can.
Per and Marie need to realize that American fans will just import, and that will never allow them to acheive any numbers here.
I dont get it.

maybe cos erasure have a better record label in the US than Rox (or are they the same??)

i think the point is.....Rox don’t want to spend a month or so promoting in one country.....plus the record label issue.

Speaking of the U.S. tour, would anyone know where I could find the number of people that attended the concerts back in 91, 92? I am especially interested in the American ones.

Erasure is in US, but barely. No one cares about them anymore.
The difference is that they have a record company that is willing to promote them. As for Roxette, we have not seen one since 1992.

erasure also hasnt topped a mainstream radio chart since in my arms in what was it 19998...they are a dance act whose sound has grown quite OLD

I do not understand why Roxette wouldn’t spent a month in the US to promote a CD. I mean, they sure spent a month touring Europe to do promotion, and Europe is not that much bigger than the US (population wise). So I think, Roxette should actually do a 3-5 month world wide promotion. That would bring their Album sale figures up to at least 7 Million.

LOL - hey Stormkeeper, since when is Sweden a “non-English speaking country”? Heck, if you ask me, I can understand a Swede’s English a lot better than most Brit’s English:)

last tiem i checked they did in 2000 with the usa hits and it went nowhere ...maybe they know whento let go?

Yes, but that time they only played 4 or 5 songs. How boring is that?
Stormkeeper said on January 20, 2003 16:27:
I think it´s because Roxette is from non-English speaking country and Erasure is British.
Maybe Erasure has more loyal long-time fans than Rox do?
That´s just my opinion.
