Check out http://shop.roxette.nl/ to see if it is still available.
pietROxette said on January 10, 2003 11:03:
If you are planning to restrict the shop for only Fanclub members you’re more stupid than I’ve ever thought...
*strictly on commercial basis*

GASP ... i have to agree with pietro...with the fanclubs spotty history of mailing out reviews, poor record of shipping items and their obvious lack of communication with emi and roxette’s management...i’d be hard pressed to become a fanclub member again....besides you could still sell reviews...cd’s...tshirts etc...i gather u’d make more money that way

I would like to know, if I place and Order with the FanClub on their Online Shop, and if I pay by cheque, what is the estimated delivery time, when I would send my cheque of today? It would arriv with you guys aprox. in two days.
Please tell me, coz I am seriously considering buying stuff from you Guys...
Jud (moderator) said on January 10, 2003 16:42:
I would say it depends on if the item is in stock or it has to be ordered to EMI - who are known to be a bit slow ;)
You could write to [email protected] and tell what item(s) you are interested in, so Chantie can look up in their database to see if it is in stock?
P-p-p-pelle said on January 10, 2003 17:03:
Pietro is right: only selling to registered fans is completely stupid. About renewing membership: yes, but only when fanclub staff gets to work again like they were in the early nineties. Maybe the staff should be ’updated’ with some new motivated members because Ronald and girlfriend are getting burned out? Maybe Cathy Carlier can takeover?
pietROxette said on January 10, 2003 18:15:
Don’t worry, kids, if the FC wants to have the FanShop for their members only, you’ll all be able of buy from another point of sale.
Iertje007 said on January 10, 2003 18:36:
Well no worries about ’Ronald and his girlfriend’ (I have a name btw) getting burned out... As you might know it’s not just two people in the fc, there are loads. And new people as well.
alchemiste said on January 10, 2003 23:12:
Maybe you´d like to open a “Bash the Fanclub” thread?
I wouldn´t bother then since I wouldn´t read it... ;-)
As for some of the comments, especially the very unfriendly ones from pietROxette:
nobody said the FanShop would be restricted to a certain group of customers...
pietROxette said on January 11, 2003 10:55:
@alchemiste: please, please read what you’ve said:
pietROxette 1/9/2003 20:18 Edit
You don’t need to be a member to buy from the FanShop.
alchemiste 1/9/2003 20:36
@ pietROxette
At *this* point.
Now, what does that mean? Hmmm...
If you are planning to keep the FanShop for members only, yea, as I’ve said “strictly on commercial basis” you are in fact stupid, since that vast number of fans, who aren’t members, would not be able to buy from you.
And I don’t really think that an Official FanClub should work for only those who decide to pay for a membership.
alchemiste said on January 11, 2003 22:20:
@pietROxette
It is open for everyone at this point.
That´s telling something about now.
Basically, it means: It is open for everyone at this point.
Funny how you´re trying to interpret things in a way that “justifies” your insults. Strictly on a commercial basis, of course. ;-)
Starrox said on January 11, 2003 22:50:
@alchemiste: I gotta admit that my first thought was exactly the same as Pietro’s... it really sounded like there are plans to restrict the fanshop to members only! So let’s just say it was easy to misunderstand you and leave it at this point, ok? No need for another “fight” between the two of you...
pietROxette said on January 11, 2003 22:59:
Yep, you’ve ephasized that it’s open to everyone at *this* point. Obviously most people thought that it’s going to change, so did I. This was why I posted my comment. If nothing’s going to change, great. But then, why exaggerating things?
Funny how you’re trying to express simple things.

you should know the way of writing of Alchemiste by now ;))

In support of the Fanclub - I received TLFR and After Tourbook before Xmas and the rest of the order was fulfilled this week. Accept that some say orders have not been completed but as I’ve had no problems, I will renew.
Not convinced re Reviews though as so much is available and read on the Internet these days that there is little point in a printed version some months later. Just some pix then?
Jud (moderator) said on January 16, 2003 22:08:
@ Nigel:
what do you mean with “orders have not been completed”? do you mean that your order came in different envelopes?
If you mean that, this is because, as the Fanclub explained in their emails, here, everywhere :P the tourbook and the look for roxette have been shipped separately to make the packing easier
(i guess u got your book in a cartoon envelope that fits the book and the tourbook in a plastic envelope?).
The people who had ordered the book, the tourbook AND something else, were sent this “something else” in another envelope. (And some may be still waiting because the Fanclub is waiting for the items from EMI).
If you didn’t mean this, sorry for this long explanation :D

GOT MY SHIRT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKYOUVERYMUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now just one question: This book I’ve been hearing about, everyone gets one that’s a memeber, or do I have to purchase it? This is the one that is supposed to take place of 2 issues of the magazines (or am I smokin again?)
alchemiste said on January 17, 2003 13:11:
Currently there are two books:
The Room Service Tour After-Tour-Book:
This is what you´ll get if you are a Fanclub member.
The Discography Book “The Look For Roxette”:
This is a marvellous piece of work which you´d have to order seperately.
dan-rox said on January 17, 2003 13:44:
i can’t buy there, becaus ei need a regsitration, this means just some people can buy it, or as seems more logic all fans can buy without being registered ?
Jud (moderator) said on January 17, 2003 13:48:
Dan: ?
You need to register there because the fanclub needs your address to send the goods to you, to track your order etc. And the next time you wanna shop there, you just have to type your user ID and password and you don’t need to type your address, email,... again.
(but you don’t have to pay for signing up as a user:P)
fortuna1895 said on January 17, 2003 13:50:
You can register with your details for free. It’s like open an account on amazon.
NigelBarnes said on January 17, 2003 20:31:
Judith - I was referring to some people that have said that they have never received all the goods from the Fanclub.
I always have and am perfectly happy with my dealings with the FC.
AS you all give up your time I think you do a very good job.
Thanks
roxlad said on January 18, 2003 16:45:
I had many problems with the FC too in the past but afterall I received my tourbook and some things have been sorted for me. I know there’s a lot of fans who didn’t receive stuff from the fan club and this is also because they send stuff via unregistered mail. I also know that usually we received reviews with old news in it but it’s very hard to gather information, print it and then deliver it compering to the fast Internet way of doing it.
Apart from everything I think the best thing we can do at this point is to listen to the FC people and see what they can offer us and if they are willing to change the things we disliked in the past. There is new people working for the FC now and the old ones can learn from the past...
How about a little survey to see what the fans really expect froma fanclub? And how about the promise that you will answer to our mails when we have a problem?
I really hope we can all give our support to a new FC.
Jud (moderator) said on January 18, 2003 21:42:
@Roxlad: i think we are answering the emails quite fast, we are not a customer support center, since each of us has a job and somehow a life :P
so we are not professional, but just doing this in our free time, so sometimes we get home too tired from work as to answer 10 emails that are awaiting in the inbox, and we just leave it for the next day or sometimes we have to check some stuff in databases, make sure a payment has arrived, before replying, etc etc
I think I have asked you sometime before, what is your email address? You have written somewhere else that your emails are not replied, but when I try to look at it and ask you for an email address, or to write again (please write there that u are roxlad :P) I get no response from you :(
Survey: I also think it would be a nice thing to do, and I write it down, to start bugging in the Fanclub list about it :) Thanks!
marcusvandeursen said on January 19, 2003 02:26:
@all. Don’t many people here get completely sick of these Neverending Threats about the FC? Never had big problems with them and indeed they have a private life as well...
@visa: why not create a ’fanclub discussion forum’ by now??
roxlad said on January 19, 2003 21:56:
@Judith
Hi Judith, sorry for the missunderstanding, I’m not against the FC at all, actually I appreciate the things you do and I know you have to find time among other things. Also I really like you because you’re always here to listen and to give answers... and a good comunication is the main thing between a FC and fans. I think.
I must say that I had some problems in the past but now everything is fine. As an example recently I wasn’t recognized as a member of the club and I was sure that I had sent the money for it. After posting a complaint here everything went fine.
Another time in 1996 (or maybe 97/98) a friend of mine placed a very big order. He ordered one VHS and many CDs (one of them was actually mine). He received the VHS tape but never received the CDs. We wrote many mails to the fan club and never got an answer. So even thought I can’t say there’s never been any episodes in the past I still think that it is a good club and I’m willing to be part of it and to trust it. After all anybody can make a mistake, we’re all humans.
About my e-mail address I’m sorry, I must have missed your question(s). If you still need it I can give it to you but I have no problems with the club at all at the moment. I’m very happy with my tourbook :-)
I’m glad you liked the survey idea. All I wish is to say to my friends that the FC I’m in is the the best there is! So I hope we can ALL bury the hatchet and think of the future...
alchemiste said on January 9, 2003 11:30:
I´d suggest you do... (obviously *g*)
Keep in mind we now have an up-and-running Fanshop offering exclusive items (like promo stuff for example), and don´t forget the wonderful Tourbook...
There´s more to come in 2003... we´re back again! Don´t miss it!
