PER'S GUITARS!!!
Santi said on January 2, 2003 20:45:
Which guitars have you seen in Gessle’s hands? :P
Say one at a time to make it like a contest ;)
LittleGirl78 said on January 2, 2003 21:00:
This a unfair question :-)
Why I know what for Guitarrs Per Gessle have, from a book, but I don´t know what for Guitarrs I´ve seen. I don´t know how look like the different guitarrs, this very difficult for me *shame*
Santi said on January 2, 2003 22:26:
The Telecaster in Listen To Your Heart Video was black, isn’t it? Or was blood red?
LittleGirl78 said on January 2, 2003 22:29:
Yes the guitarr in Listen to your Heart was black, but I don´t know that a Telecaster, in my book stand this was bloodred, maybe he has two.
kiwijazza said on January 2, 2003 23:22:
I’ve got a black Telecaster like the one on Listen To Your Heart. :)
Santi said on January 3, 2003 08:31:
A mid 60’s Gretsch (according to Gretsch website, since it’s the same guitar they show with Courtney Love :D) in Real Sugar video and playing live in Johannesburg concert, orange colour.
HummingBird said on January 3, 2003 11:29:
At the Återtåget shows he played a Gretsch silver jet (if that’s the correct name, not 100% sure right now), and he once said he “just bought a lemon green Gretsch” (don’t know which model, though) at the FC’s questions to per.
And he used to be quite fond of the Gibson ES series, right?
Santi said on January 3, 2003 12:39:
Yes, the Gretsch Silver Jet is also on “The World According To Gessle” cover!
A picture of Per with this guitar is also on page 7 in the booklet just above Reporter lyrics.
The name for this guitar is also Gretsch G6129.
CRIZ said on January 3, 2003 21:42:
I think Rickenbacker guitars are sexy! :)
but my fave P.G. Guitar is this...eehm.George-Harrison-lookalike-from-someone-painted-all-over-red-with-bubbles-rainbows-a-sweet Åsa-heart-and-other-strange-things-on-GUITAR
I don’t remember the name...but it looks greeeat!
m-cvk said on January 3, 2003 21:44:
And he has the White Falcon (from Gretsch), a.o. in the SMT and The Big L videos.
Great guitar!
kiwijazza said on January 4, 2003 01:37:
Does anybody know what kind of guitar Per uses in The Look, and appears on the Tourism cover? I wonder if you can get one with the same paintwork... ;)
P.S. The Gretsch White Falcon - beautiful guitar. To be precise on the model, it’s the Gretsch White Falcon II. I looked it up on the Gretsch website. :)
goetz said on January 4, 2003 10:01:
Did anvbody here per playing a guitar live?
I think i‘m musically gifted, have good ears and even write, arrange and record songs myself but f.e. in the live-ism video i can‘t here him. Even other musicians wonder what the hell he‘s playing!
Santi said on January 4, 2003 14:28:
In Johannesburg Video “Crash! Boom! Live!” I get the impression his electric guitar is unplugged, because it doesn’t sound at all.
Santi said on January 4, 2003 15:28:
He’s got a pretty rare Rickenbacker, you can see on The Lonely Boys CD booklet. It’s a Rickenbacker 450 in natural wood colour with a golden pick guard. It looks exactly like a guitar that Johnny from The Ramones used to have.
Now that I think... that guitar was stolen from Johnny... ehh... Per?? :D
goetz said on January 4, 2003 21:28:
The Joke is: During the CBB-Tour Per had an Rack of Guitar-effekt-processors of the size of an refrigerator!! I know that because of a backstage article from a music magazin written by a friend of mine.
Santi said on January 5, 2003 12:04:
Well, now that I think the only guitar I have heard was the acoustic in Listen to your heart, The First Girl on the moon and maybe some other :D But he doesn’t really need effects for that... :P
Santi said on January 5, 2003 12:21:
In the back of the Demos CD and the second page of the Demos CD Booklet Per is playing a Rickenbacker 330S/12, that is, 12 strings. :)
CRIZ said on January 5, 2003 17:32:
@Kiwijazza ..yeah that s the guitar I was talking about..I forgot what kind of guitar it is.....Have read about it somewhere ...it’s hidden in my Rox-files...don’t remember now where to look :(
japeke said on January 6, 2003 17:06:
AFAIK He also holds a guitar like that in the june Afternoon viedeo in his hands.
Santi said on January 6, 2003 19:33:
He’s playing a Gibson Flying V on the video for Un Día Sin Ti. It’s a black one, you know, that kind of guitar which the body is shaped like a V letter.
xarrrr said on January 7, 2003 23:04:
i love his guitars, they make a sexy man look sexier! hehehe! the Rickenbackers are my favourites!
ditroia said on January 8, 2003 01:38:
Per also Plays Dobro Guitar on the CBB album, (it looks like the one on the Dire Straights Brothers in Arms album)
Dave
P.S. I also bought a Rickenbaker Roxette poster on Ebay
Santi said on January 8, 2003 09:32:
Yeah, you can hear the dobro a lot on the song “Place your love” :) It’s what gives that song that folk atmosphere, so cool :p
Speedrazor said on January 8, 2003 13:04:
Ok.
:On the RS Tour he used to play a black Gibson ES-335, also once saw him playing a wine red Larivee...but that was in the Joyride times, also the black 325 Rickenbacker (the triple pick-up-solid body one) in the Look Sharp days, the painted Larivee Telecaster appearing on Tourism Cove is hanging in Leif´s Lounge.
OOooopps too much info for one post ;-)
CRIZ said on January 10, 2003 22:25:
Larivee..yes..yes..I forgot..yes it’s a Larivee...
But it’s gone from Leif’s Lounge unfortunately sniff....
Santi said on January 12, 2003 20:07:
In Tourism booklet it says the guitar was painted Richard Trägårdh and Calle Andersson.
ally77 said on August 16, 2003 19:35:
Can’t say I noticed.... I am not up on makes of guitars... but they played well... better than me!
PerAndren said on August 16, 2003 21:09:
On Mazarin tour:
Different acoustic guitars...can’t really tell....
Electric: Two Gibson Es-335, one red and one black.... the same guitars as during the RS tour...
eclam_85 said on September 20, 2005 12:55:
you’re sure they are 335:s?
Both has different inlays than the ordinary Gibson ES 335 and the black one also has a vibrato...
PeterGm said on September 20, 2005 14:03:
fkn weird conversation youre having here... i dont care what guitar/s he has... he just plays it... its also the guitar companies asking him to play their guitars to promote them...so some he might not even like or own...
KixGuy said on September 20, 2005 19:20:
I really doubt an artist would play a guitar he/she doesn’t like. That makes no sense.
PeterGm said on September 21, 2005 08:38:
actually, maybe money, but furthermore...commitments... most ofthe biz is run by D&D... if they sign Per to jump out of a plane, he’d have to do it! :)
Santi said on September 21, 2005 14:43:
I don’t think that Per doesn’t like to play guitar. But he’s not that great, he has admited it more than once, and beside Jonas Isacsson and Micke Andersson who are great guitar players, maybe he feels shy about it.
But in any case is way cooler to hang your guitar, much better than showing up without one, especially when there is already a vocalist with no other instrument but a tambourine. It’s looks, not just music.
Rox-Van said on September 22, 2005 05:31:

H also has one where it says BE BOP A LULA,but I do not know the Name of it!
Rox-Van said on September 27, 2005 23:31:
@Kathrin: The guitar that has writing “bep to bop lula” is a red Fender Telecaster as this one that appears in the pix

Santi said on September 28, 2005 09:39:
As has been said before, it is not a Fender Telecaster, but a Larivee. Just read the previous replies.
Santi said on January 2, 2003 20:45:
I’ll start: White Rickenbacker 360 :P On Joyride video and live playing Dressed For Success.
