Those magic times…

I remember I saw a phrase from Mel Gibson in one of his movies (he plays a man protected by the witness relocation program, then, some bad guys who want revenge and his ex-wife – played by Goldie Hawn – find him) where he says, ‘if you remember the 60’s, it’s coz you never lived there’. I guess that everybody has some magical time in the life…oh, I can’t forget the 80’s. Ok, they were my childhood, but I remember years, specifically…1985, 1987,1988…and the early 90’s…specially ‘92-‘94. Sometimes a little song part, a sunshade, a smell, makes me have super quick, but intense flashes of memory. Sometimes they’re good, but other times, makes you feel like wishing desperately turn back time. Dunno why, but listening to HDYD, or watching the video, makes me remember Saturdays from those years. That also happens with Joyride, when I listen to it in a high volume. I remember Saturday mornings, but don’t remember of seeing videos so frequently in Saturdays from those times …so, don’t ask me why…other artists that cause me this sort of effect are Sheryl Crown, New Kids on the Block, the last A-ha songs before their long break, Genesis’ “Easy Lover” “Another Day in Paradise”, oh, I couldn’t be fair if I forgot Cindy Lauper’s “Time After Time”…this one almost makes me cry, when some images of streets and afternoons from my childhood come to my head again…it’s not so far away in the past, but, the world seems so cold changed in so few time. Does it happen with you, too?

all the time :)

when I hear something old (eg, roxette, or aha or abba) I can usually remember how I was feeling at that particular time in my life.

This morning I was listening to “never is a long time” and it made me sad....

Never is a long time circled through my head when we sat in the chappel to bury my grandpa... I still get very sad hearing this one. Didn’t like the song before.
