i JUST WANTED TO SAY that this songs is very good..i don’t know why but when i listen to it,,she makes me feel so cool...so deep in my emotion..it goes like it would be a pop song but it turns out to be a ballad....mmm thank per...
anybody if there’s a live version of it or demo version of it...
and who loves it...?
SirMikeAlot said on August 30, 2002 05:34:
hmm, well it’s not the most exciting song in the world, but i like it all the same - must be that appeal that Zee was talking about ;).
It really suits Pers voice and fits nicely between a ballad and pop song.
carbon_boy said on August 30, 2002 07:01:
One of my alltime fave’s! Shouldve been on the Dawson’s Creek soundtrack..........
deja_vu said on August 30, 2002 08:39:
I love it so much!! one of my Rox-top 20 ever!!, so encouraging!softly and gently!!

I love that song, its so great
per did a very good job on it *thumbup*

’you stay in the sun, you reach for the moon - you make a little love in the afternoon’ - PURE GESSLE GENIUS!!!!
tinytim said on August 30, 2002 15:57:
I guess that ATAY will sound a little like it. Coz it was the #2 preffered song in roxette.se, that old, full of Flash stuff. Maybe Per just heard the voice of sapience...oooo....
onlywhenidream said on August 30, 2002 16:06:
LOL! Sapience - such a great word, so much better than wisdom!
Let’s hope the song is brilliant, and then maybe they could use the great picture of Marie and Per hanging over a cello (from C!B!B!) days.
I liked that photo
Jackeill said on August 30, 2002 19:27:
about this song: yeah it’s quite fine but i can’t stand how it is made ! only “it takes you no time to get here” repeated over and over again :(
LoneGunman said on August 30, 2002 19:55:
This song is a pearl... it’s PERfect, actually it’s my all times Roxette Number One.
Brilhant Per, thanks !!!

@carbon_boy:
I can’t believe you thought that too. When I first heard the song, I thought about Joey and Dawson.
You’re right it should’ve been on the Dawson’s Creek soundtrack.
animalkingdom said on November 30, 2002 18:14:
It’s absolutely one of the best on Room Service.
And in general, too, I like it a lot!
big-little-girl said on November 30, 2002 20:21:
GREAT SONG!!! Especially when you listen to it in the car on Monday mornings while you’re driving to work!!! (But it’s also a torture in this situation...!)
One of my favourites and the BEST song on ROOM SERVICE!!!
Roxette-atic said on November 30, 2002 23:05:
I agree. THE best song from “Room Service” and one of the best Roxette tracks ever :)
eva_roxer said on December 1, 2002 02:52:
I really loooooooooooove this song, thanks for asking :)
In fact, this one together with “I’ll be alright” (TWATG) and “A thing about you” are the proof of Per’s ballad singing ability.
My favourite part of the song is near to the end, when Per sings very high “It takes you no time to get heeeeeeeeeeeeeeere”.
DaminehGessle said on December 1, 2002 03:38:
I believe the best song on RS is The Centre of the Heart. I love the rhythm to it. Also Little Girl’s first few sentences makes me cry inside cause it reminds me of my past and the person I was.
“Once upon a time there was a little girl
Once she was mine
In my heart the only one
I wonder where you are
I know you’re somewhere in me”
Make my Head Go Pop is pretty cool too. Once in a while you need songs like that to take you away from the realities of Spending my Time and So Far Away. Sometimes you are just sick and tired of crying to those songs.
... And for It Takes You No Time To Get Here: It’s a very relaxing song. It takes the exhaustion out of you at the end of the day. I like it very much. But again I don’t think it’s an all time favourite.
the_phantom_roxer said on December 1, 2002 19:11:
ITYNTTGH: is it just me, or is it a total contradiction?? If it takes no time to get there, then why might you as well stay??
QuaKeD said on December 2, 2002 02:45:
“Why don’t you take the rest of the day off? You deserve a brake”...
I love that phrase, it always help me when I have too much work and I dont see the end of it (not like I can run away from it, but it helps me see that everything eventually ends)
DaminehGessle said on December 2, 2002 02:51:
Break even :)
Yes that’s my favourite part of the song.
frab said on December 2, 2002 12:25:
This song is also one of my favourites from RS! The atmosphere is very special. But I think it suits the warmer months better than this damn cold winter time now. Anyway, I love this song!
carbon_boy said on December 3, 2002 08:53:
@Twilight: Damn right!!! Its like the song was inspired by Joey and Dawson’s relationship - except for the: make a little love in the afternoon” bit....heehee....
Its a dusky,sundowner, summer song.....
One of the most underrated Rox songs of all times. I bet if Gessle got Mr Kevin Williams to listen to it, it would be on the next DC album - or at least in an episode!
Cheers.

I think that “It Takes You No Time To is so good as “Cooper”, so , it’s great!
miguelsocialist said on February 16, 2005 23:52:
You might as well stay... :D
I think “It takes you no time to get here” is a good song, great Per vocals and it hasn’t ambition to be a hit... In a newspaper was said ITYNTTGH was the best song of RS... For me, the best song of RS is TCOTH but this one is fine :)
Zargo said on February 17, 2005 01:03:
When I first heard it I thought it was the boringest thing I’d ever heard... But after a few listens it started to grow on me, and it’s no. 1 on Room Service for me now!
Funny how things change.
It takes you some time to get it.
girl7twenty7 said on February 17, 2005 12:54:
Loo-o-ove Per singing ballads, so beautiful and touching song. Would have sounded better with live strings though.
@alexandre Thanx for these old topics! RS discussions still hot.
chrisjankunas said on February 17, 2005 20:49:
It aint bad.
I think the best song on RS is MATAH. Especially when I listen to the album from start to finish - Coming after TCOTH it sounds perfect ! I think after HAND they went back to slightly earliar roxette style (IS it just me?) - for example looking for jane sounds like almost unreal.
biggestfan said on February 17, 2005 20:55:
But Looking for Jane is a great song! Maries voice is perfect in this song (—>ok this voice is always perfect)
chrisjankunas said on February 17, 2005 20:59:
I think Looking for Jane is a great song! (You know ALmost Unreal is my fav. Here in the Uk it was Roxette’s miost successful song!) I think HAND was unique. But what I always liked about Roxette was the Rock/Pop combination as well as Marie and Per’s vocals mixing from “From One heart to another” to “A thing about you”
colinvdbel (moderator) said on February 17, 2005 22:52:
agree with rox-attic :D
and it would be great to have it in aDC episode...to bad the series has finished after the 6th season :( (but season 4’s on dvd already :P)
Zargo said on February 18, 2005 02:43:
looking for jane has gotta be the boringest up-tempo rox song ever.
RobS said on February 18, 2005 07:03:
i agree, it’s not the best, i would’ve liked it to be a little more edgier (is that a word?)
kristal said on February 18, 2005 11:19:
i really like it ! I think it is one of per’s good songs!
i like his voice!.....a very good song!
Rox_Nox2003 said on February 18, 2005 17:58:
This is that kind of songs that if you’re both sensitive and clever enough you will be able to tell a lot from it from the very few words in it that do say so much ... not only does the lyrics have this thing but the whole melody and the sound all around from the start to the end ... it moves and it messes you up inside remind you to do what the songs says “drive out town today and when you arrive you might as well as stay ... it takes no time to get here ...” slow down, don’t rush thing ... life is contantly here so why hurry?
animalkingdom said on February 19, 2005 21:39:
Okay, now, is there some special reason for these threads to be waken up from the death again?
I mean lately there are have been quite a few replies to discussions from who-knows-when... :S
alexandre100 said on February 19, 2005 21:51:
@girl7twenty7
You’re welcome. Yes, these discussions are still very hot.
There’s another song that Per sings that I think must receive more attention. It’s “I Could Never Give You Up”.
By the way, isn’t there a John Secada’ song which music is very similar to the introduction of “I Could Never Give You Up”?

I love ITYNTTGH... It´s so cool.
It remenbers me the song “´74-´75” from The Connells
realsugarsexmagic said on February 20, 2005 16:06:
I agree I think the make a little love part’s a bit weak. The melody’s brilliant tho and PeR’S voice is really outstanding I think.
Roxeanne said on February 20, 2005 17:33:
“Why don’t you take the rest of the day off, you do deserve a brick...”
Honestly, that was what I understood when I first heard the song!!!!
Nevertheless it’s been my favourite ever since it came out.
carbon_boy said on February 21, 2005 08:12:
Still my fave song on RS... and one of my alltime fave Rox songs. It just can’t get better than this!
Cheers ;o)
realsugarsexmagic said on February 21, 2005 15:41:

“It takes you..” always has something of a hot summer day for me. The lyrics are perfect, Per sings the song with so much feelings....
I love that song, could have been a single... I imagine a video for the song like “vulnerable”. For me the song (It takes..) has an absolutely relaxing mood. It fits perfect to a hot summer day lying in the grass and watch the blue sky....
oh well I dream..
Rox-Van said on April 19, 2005 18:20:

Thanks for this discussion!!
AddeColciago said on April 25, 2005 17:06:
Ballads with Per = great! Vulnerable is great (How can someone think different?). A Thing About You, My favourite Rox song and It takes you no time... is the one I lsiten to most right now. Another song that suits Pers vvoice is Church Of Your Heart! When (or if) I get married i’m gonna play that song!
deby-rox said on April 27, 2005 17:31:
One of the roxette’s best music and Per’s vocals, too. It’s perfect, gorgeous in all details, the voice(sure),the rhythim, the strings, the letter(a little fool)...After some like “So far away”“Watercolours in the rain”“CRASH!BOOM!BANG!” and about 3 is simply the better.
zeeshan said on August 30, 2002 05:00:
I love it. I love the lyrics and Per did a great job singing it no doubt abt that. No Wonder this song has a certain “appeal” to most of the fans out there.
