Sh1t Happens - Roberta Right

So I got access to “Theme from Roberta Right”. Let’s just leave it at that.

Now. Per swears for the first time in a song. Depends if you consider “keepin’ her ass very clean” in Reporter a swear.

But yes, “shit happens”... that’s a first for Mr. Gessle. It’s kind of cute hearing his accent as he says it... bit random.

An English-first I guess... your thoughts?

Yeah, he first swore on an early GT track. I can’t remember which one though. Ska Vi Älska, Så Ska Vi Älska Till Buddy Holly?

I noticed the swear word to. I was shocked!! lol

I would say this isn’t swearing. It’s a common expression.

Being an English teacher I would not urge my students to use expressions like this, but I would not classify it as swearing - only as very informal use of language.

lol it’s very random, isn’t it? I was a bit shocked, as well. Not sure what it contributes to the song. Hmmm. I guess its ok. Helena rocks that song, though !!

Yeah I must admit Helena does deliver the goods on that track.

“Shit happens” it’s just one of those non-offending and non-insulting ways to express an unpleasant or unlucky situation, nothing wrong with that, you can hear it in movies regularly. No need to apply a “parental advisory” sticker to the sleeve :-)))
Besides, it sounds cool, giving a teenager movie type of a feeling to the song.

I think it’s the song “Billy” where Per first used the word “shit” in its swedish equivalent.

Robbie - but having said that - it IS a good song that was still left off of the actual album ! I wonder if there WERE concerns for a Parental Advisory label ???

Hmmm. But I wouldn’t have thought so. I know plenty of albums that have “Sh*t” in some of the songs that don’t have a PA-label. Sheryl Crow even says the Fword in one of her songs on her new album. Not the tiniest of warnings though.Tsk tsk. lol.

We don’t have the Parental Advisory shit in Sweden, thank god.

I really love this song, it’s one of the best on the album... Helena sounds fantastic almost like Marie in the way she sings!

I am more curious as to who is gargling at the beginning, any idea we will find out which one of the guys it was! lol ;)

Love the song... disapointed in the swear word though... not a huge deal but unnecessary, and just a tad crass.
