I guess you heard it in the news. I would like to say thank you to another great super-swede, who made childhood so much more fun!

:...((( she will be an angel for the animals! (sweden gave her a fine animal-protection law for b-day once - but it has lots of “holes”...i hope they will make it better now as posthume gift!)

I’m very, very sad! She was such a great person. I used to listen to her stories to exercice my Swedish and I’m quite good, Thanx Astrid.

I love her books...I was trying to install the post with my friend just like the kids in Bullerbyn ( now, no idea how it is in Swedish ) ...and I made myself wake up early on Sunday mornings to watch Pipi...kids in heaven will have more fun with her stories for sure...

She was a great writer and I watched her movies so many times when I was a kid.... I have not read the books so often, but I knew them by heart anyway I think because of the films that I still have on VHS here at home....

She’s one of my ever favourite writers, I sitll enjoy reading her books, every time finding anything new that touches me, or makes me laugh... R.I.P. Astrid. And thank you for the wonderful stories.

It’s very sad indeed, but she did become really old of course, 94, so it was expected that she would die soon. Luckily she just had a great life and now I’m watching all the programmes about her on Swedish TV again I remember what an absolutely nice person she was!
For me it’s actually because of Astrid Lindgren and Roxette that I became interested in Sweden and the Swedish language, so thanks for that!!!

Very sad news, I also grew up with her books. Another part of my childhood is gone...

She was a great woman... I can´t tell anyone who doesn´t like her books.
It´s a shame she didn´t get the nobel price...
Even though I was very sad yesterday, I went happy when I noticed that at least three of the swedish tv-channels showed programs about and interwievs with her yesterday night, at the same time... She´s really worth it.
Thank you, Astrid, for everything you´ve given me and many other people!!!!!!!

it’s like a well known friend has died somehow.
but 94 is a good age to die, isn’t it?
and she built up her own monument in her books.
see her in “nangijala” . (hey germans, what is it in english?)
