EHM Pa Turne Ticket Sales
Remco said on May 5, 2007 01:23:
Does anybody know how tickets are selling for this summers tour? Seeing the availability on ticnet.se, none of the concerts are at the point of selling out.
It might just be my memory, but as far as I can remember the tickets to the Mazarin-turne were sold out within a few days, especially the concerts in Halmstad, Goteborg and Stockholm. Is there any explanation for EHM not selling out a single concert yet?
Is it because the album is not out yet?
Do people wait for good weather?
Is Per getting less popular, are people getting tired of PG/GT and don’t bother to go to the concerts anymore?
Please leave your thoughts and/or facts here!

Stockholm did not sell out in a few days on 2003. Not even sure that it sold out at all.
I guess people are waiting to hear the album and maybe people also wait until the summer is closer so they can see what they have planned for the summer.

My guess is, that the release of the album will push the ticket sales. By promoting the single and album, Per will promote the tour as well. That will also help to sell more tickets :)

This article from Expressen tabloid:

As I wrote on ’EHM update’ topic on the main page it’s all about how bad the tickets for Gessles shows sell. It says that only (lol) 13.000 of 23.000 tickets for Halmstads concert were sold ;) And of course - no data is officiall ;)
The ending of this article is quite positive - it tells that everything can change when the first single from EHM will be released ;)

it might have to do with the fact that
a) there is no single/album out yet. With Mazarin the single was out in May and a while afterwards tour was announced. By the time the tickets were on sale, everybody wanted to see Gessle live the following month -> tickets sold fast.
b) Swedes (after all, the 99% of the audience) don’t plan so much in advance as you do here ;-) it is just typical to wait and see what the weather is like that day and show up at the concert place and just buy the tickets then and
c) in 2003 people thought it was just a chance in a lifetime to see Gessle live again (when was his last solo tour???) - same with GT in 2004, I think people now realised there will be more Gessle in the years to come so a tour is not that “rare”.
I’m sure the concerts will start to go in “red status” when single/album are out and we are getting closer to the tour :)

Ha ha ha, don´t you think you´ve already heard about it.
A WORD WITH PER, THE HANDYMAN
Written by tevensso on March 12, 2007 to Exclusive and Per Gessle.
....
Per says that the Swedish media will probably call this tour a flop as he’ll never get the numbers that GT got in 2004.
- Who cares about that?
He agrees reluctantly, and says “well, you know media…”

I hope this isn’t too off topic, but is it normal to announce a tour and even dates well before an album has even been released?
I can’t say i’ve heard of this before. Although i’m sure even if Per didn’t have an album to promote, he’d probably still sell out quite a few shows regardless.

Thanks for your insights... they basically confirm my thoughts, and apparently I was wrong with Sthm selling out very quick during the mazarin-tour.
Have a great summer!

@RobS I think, U2 also once announced a tour before the album was finished. But I maybe wrong...
And after all, how many Swedish artists could sell at least 13 000 tickets to one show?

I suggest the album, the weather and there is still plenty of time really. Expect the Tour will still be a success.
