My Favorite Christmas Songs are:,,Silent Night,Holy Night”,Ihr Kinderlein kommet,Oh Holy Night,Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree,Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer, Melikaliki Maka,White Christmas,Jingle Bells,Leise rieselt der Schnee,Oh du fröhliche,The little Drummer Boy,Adeste Fideles(Oh come all ye faithful),Heidschi Bumbeidschi,Alle Jahre wieder,Fröhlche Weihnacht überall,Last Christmas,Mary’s Boychild.

I have to practice them on my Keyboard in order for me to play them on Christmas Eve and I play some of them with Hardrock and Rock Shuffle. My Mama says that this is the coolest way to play Christmas songs!

gah. What *is* it with Christmas songs that stay in your head forever!!?! It’s just too too much :S

A bit of an odd one, but my favourite Christmas song is ’She Won’t Be Home’ by Erasure. It’s so sweet and sad, and it had to lose out to BLOODY CLIFF RICHARD!!! My first Christmas, and No1 was Cliff Richard...is there no justice?

Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup...

’Even if I am in love with you. All this to say, what’s it to you?’

I like ’classic’ rock and pop christmas songs like Wham’s ’Last Christmas’.

Ah yes, how can you not love some of the classics?

Every year since I bought “Snowed Inn” by Hanson, I listen to it. It has a lot of wonderful X-mas songs. And it’s rock, so I really enjoy it.

I’ll stick to Gessle’s “Varmt Igen”.

Merry Christmas (War is Over) from John Lennon. I love the song and it brings me back nice memories :)

Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer
Jingle Bells
Bonnie M - Mary’s Boychild
Bryan Adams - Christmas Time
Mel & Kims - Rockin’ Around the Xmas tree
Chris Rea - Driving Home For Christmas
John Lennon - Happy X-mas
Oslo Gosphel Choir - En Sterne Skinner I Natt

Jona Lewie-Stop The Cavalry’s a pretty good one!

Band Aids...first one good, second one OK, but obviously an excuse to get the SAW roster out in one go (Missing Rick Astley though, tut tut), 3rd one shite. I’m sorry, but it was bad, kids raiding the percussion cupboard towards the end...but at least people did constructive things with their copies of it (well, I say constructive...) like microwave them, use them as bird scarers etc

All the songs on “Winter Carols” by Blackmore’s Night! :) Candice’s voice gives these old songs a new glow! :)

Wham- LAst Christmas
Band Aid- Do they know its Xmas
Slade

I like these:
Do they know it’s christmas? - Band Aid
24:de December - Gyllene tider

Good choices...but whcih BA (1,2 or 20?)

I finally found my Cocteau Twins boxset, and put on their version of Frosty The Snowman, which sounds so wierd and so cool at the same time. Love the song, but still don’t feel Christmassy...

’Even if I am in love with you. All this to say, what’s it to you?’

I always listen to Peter Jöback´s ’Jag kommer hem igen till jul’ album which features one of my all time favourites ’O, Helga Natt’. Then I like ’Mitt hjerte alltid vanker’, ’Varmt igen’, ’Santa Claus is coming to town’ and Hark the angel (Can’t remember the full title).

I would like to listen to the Norwegian CD from 2001 called ’Sølvguttene synger julen inn’. Has anybody heard it? Is it good?

Edit: How could I forget ’God rest ye merry gentleman’!

Interesting that you mention Peter Joback.....
I have a duet that he did with Swedish pop singer Towe Jaarnek (goes by Towe)... from 1992 I think. It’s featured on her album. Song “More than a Game” great song!
On that album Towe also did a nice duet with Lasse Holm, and some songs are written by Lasse, a famous fella in Swedish pop

Sorry for offtpoic

I’ve never heard of Towe but I’ll check it out.

I’m amazed at the fact that no one said “It Must Have Been Love (X-mas For The Broken-Hearted)” :O

i love the songs like

all i want for christmas is you
jingle bells
we wish you a merry christmas
and many more

winter wonderland - macy grey.
I like the theme tune from - lampoon’s christmas vacation.

river: by joni mitchell..there are alot of great covers of it, most best of them are by the indigo girls and sarah mclachlan
end of the summer: dar williams: ok it’s not very xmasy but still
the prayer: celine dion feat andrea bocelli: i don’t care what people say it’s a damn amazing song
yellow snow: i dont remember who does it but its too damn funny

and of course grandma got runover by a reindeer best xmas song ever

Twisted Christmas by Bob Rivers
Little Drummer Boy sung by David Bowie and Bing Crosby

Tattooed White Trash

Hands down the best christmas song has to be Last Christmas by Wham, because it is such a pretty song and it is rarely played as much as the others which makes it all the more special when it does come on the radio. I like the version by Darren Hayes too, but not as much as the original!

Oh I also like Grandma got run over by a Reindeer.

From modern music I also like

Sylver - Lonely Christmas

I don’t know, but Annie Lennox - Put a little love in your heart.... I always associate it with Christmas too, it was in movie Scrooged as well :=)

I adore Mariah’s All I Want......so euphoric

Pretenders did an awesome version of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas......Chrissie Hynde’s voice is awesome.

Gloria Estefan’s Silent Night is also a treat, and Cyndi Lauper’s Christmas Conga (it’s bonkers!)

I just bought Sarah McLachlan’s new xmas cd and her cover of Lennon’s Merry Christmas (War Is Over) is something else......

I think Darlene Love will sing today on Letterman.... I hope it’s one of my favorite songs :-)
