Hi.. I have a question about the German Band Tokio Hotel.. Originally I am from Germany myself but I have moved to another country more than 8 years ago. On youtube.com I have come across some songs by Tokio Hotel and I am well impressed by the music. Like it a lot. So after further research on the net I have found out that they are hugely successful in Germany BUT they have a huge following of haters as well. There seem to be so many people haitng Tokio Hotel. So my question is, can anyone tell me why they are so hated??

Well, the guys from Tokio Hotel are about 16 or 17 years old. There´s a real hysteria about them. I would say that most of their fans are even younger. And to some people it seems so ridiculous that those youngsters are so successful and 13-year old girls want to sleep with them. Another point is, that the singer, Bill, looks a bit like a girl. That´s why people make fun of him. He has got jet-black dyed hair, a strange hairdo (well, Per had that during Joyride days as well) and always make-up around his eyes.
Also boybands like Take That or the Backstreet Boys had people loving and hating them. I don´t think it´s a new phenomenon.

I think this is just normal with such boy bands (whatever music they make, they are a boy band). You like them or you hate them.
Personally, some of their music is OK, better than the crap that’s being played on the radios at least.. and I think all the fuzz about them is too much both the fans and haters. So if you like them, go ahead and listen to them :)

She really loves them, but I know some people from Austria that whereas really hate them, I don’t know why, to be honest, I never heard them.

Yep! Even the voice makes you think it’s a girl singing! But I have to say that when you are 16 you can easily change! Boys especially change their voices.

Yes, he looks and sounds totally different so probably it was the make-up and sound pitch that did it on the other video...

Yes, I think it too, don’t worry about it, I think that the principal reason is his look, not in all, but in some of his pics (specially when I saw him with long hair!!!) he seems a girl.

Hi! I’m from Italy so I can’t really answer your question because they are unknown here but while travelling to other countries in Europe and watching satellite TV I can assure you that when ’Durch Den Monsun’ came out it was on heavy rotation! So I believe they are very successfull.
